Card Mania GDT - #57 Tags - My Card of Tags

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to another fun challenge over at Card Mania Challenges! This time around it is CHALLENGE #57 - TAG. You can decorate a tag or incorporate it in your card or paper bag or any other paper project. I hope you will drop in  and see the stunning creations my co-teamies came up with!

Here is my Vintage Pink 'Card of Tags'...lots of pink, lots of vintage and lots of shabby, just the way I like it! Be warned - longest post EVER!

This challenge is sponsored by ColorInk. I sure hope you will pop on over and enter your tags or cards with tags, I would love to see what you come up with!!

For all of the background pieces I started with white paper that I spritzed with watered down DecoArt Wild Rose paint and Plain Jane Cardboard Base ink spray. Then I used various stencils (I will list them later) and Gathered Twigs distress ink to lay a base pattern.

Then I stamped with Ranger Archival ink using a script stamp and a music notes stamp. I edged all the panels with Gathered Twigs and distressed all of the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool.

Next came a layer of home-made texture paste which I coloured with DecoArt Wild Rose paint (you can find a tutorial for that here). Again, I used a ton of stencils. Lastly, I flicked some Gathered Twigs distress stain here and there and dabbed everything with a bit of Picket Fence paint.

The jumbo pink flower was cut from Spellbinders Create A Carnation and Joy Crafts Flower 4. It was coloured with Tim Holtz distress inks Victorian Velvet and Gathered Twigs, then spritzed with Plain Jane Cardboard Ink Spray and some DecoArt Tan Paint. I added some gold micro-beads using Glossy Accents.

The seam binding was dyed with Victorian Velvet and Gathered Twigs, then spritzed with Plain Jane.

This marks the start of another month and another new challenge over at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. This month it's - The Mixed Media Card Challenge #4 - Vintage with the option to add a key...I added two keys. One on the outside and one on the inside.

I would like to send out a special thank you to all of the super talented designers on the Mixed Media Card Challenge Team for choosing my autumn card as the winner of the September challenge. This was a special win for me because it was the first autumn card I had ever done and I had sooooo much fun making it!

The frame and key were hand made using crafter's clay and some molds. I painted them white and then antiqued them with a touch of gold paint and some Krylon gold leafing. I inserted a small oval piece of paper that I splashed with some dusty rose and light brown paints. I added some gold micro-beads on the inside of the frame.

When you open the large 'Card of Tags'...hidden inside is ANOTHER 'Card of Tags'.

The tiny key and lock and the floral frame were also hand made with clay and molds. There are also some bronze filigree embellishments that I painted and antiqued.

When you open the medium 'Card of Tags'...hidden inside are TWO MORE 'Cards of Tags'.

The large tags were cut from Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates die. The medium tags were cut by hand and the small tags were cut from Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs and Tag.

And lastly, when you open the two small 'Cards of Tags'...hidden inside is MY SENTIMENT!

The letters were cut from Spellbinders Alphabet Uppercase die set. I layered 2 of them on top of one another to give the letters more dimension. They are also antiqued with with and gold paints and some Krylon gold leafing.

OK, here is a list of all of the stencils (some are no name ones from my local discount store).
Prima Decor 2 - DecoArt Doily - Mod Podge Tangier - Crafter's Workshop Quatrefoil - Prima Damask - Crafter's Workshop Cherry Blossoms - Crafter's Workshop Paradise - FolkArt Lovely Floral

Here is a shot of the entire 'Card of Tags' family.

I am also entering my card into the following wonderful challenges:
**For some reason the brown took over in the photographs, but my card is much more pink in real life!**
- Crafts 4 Eternity - Recipe #196 - 3 of the Same Letter (I chose 'T' for - Tags, Texture paste and Twine)

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
