Crafty Cardmakers - #129 - Christmas - Lots of Hugs & Glitter!

Hello Everyone!

It's time for the very last challenge of the year over at Crafty Cardmakers and More (we will be back on January 12th)! We have a real easy one for you - CHRISTMAS! I look forward to seeing all those wintery, festive makes!

This card is going to a wonderful bloggy friend and I sure hope she likes it!

For our last challenge, my fabulous co-teamie Kim has put together a grab bag full of goodies for one lucky winner! We also have a prize from our sponsor Sir Stampalot, so let's pull out those holly dies and jars of glitter and get to playing ladies!

For the background, I coloured it with Hero Arts Summer Sky, stamped a Stampendous Christmas Music background using Ranger Archival ink Cobalt and spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Denim Blue. Then I used a Memory Box stencil and applied some of my homemade iridescent glitter paste (using DecoArt White Acrylic paint) through it for a wonderful shimmery design.

Dies used - Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight, Impression Obsession Pine Branch, Tim Holtz Holiday Joy, Cheery Lynn Leafy Branch Set, Prickley Pear Holly Berry.

The sentiment is from a Joy Crafts set and the frame was hand made using crafter's clay and a Martha Stewart mold. It was coloured with Tim Holtz distress ink Faded Jeans. The leaves were treated with Stardust Stickles the corners with DecoArt Snow Writer and some Glamour Dust glitter.

POP QUIZ HOT SHOTS - I used an old technique to do my reindeer, but I'll be darned if I can remember what it's called! I took a music note stamp and inked it up, then I stamped the music notes onto the reindeer stamp, then stamped the reindeer onto the paper. What's it called, what's it called, what's it called??? Anybody?

I am entering my Christmas card into the following wonderful challenges:

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

  1. Hi Pamellia another beautiful card. Beautiful colours and textures and your foliage arrangement is stunning. I think the technique you used is called 'Kiss Stamping'. Sally D.x.

  3. Oh my goodness Pamellia!!! This card is yet another piece of art!!! Oh boy, do I love every single little detail on this beauty?!?! The reindeer looks amazing, but I can't help you with the name of the technique, I am not versed in stamping :( I especially love frosty look of this card, so wintery and festive, just wonderful! Thank you for bringing so much joy to the world with your beautiful creations! Till the next show stopper, big crafty hugs :)

  6. Gorgeous and glittery. I am loving all the layers and the floral spray. I had to take a second look to find the reindeer - you hid it on this old gal. I would not have been able to answer the technique question but now that I know what you did, I must try that - have to buy a reindeer stamp first though - lol. Off to mail the mass produced Christmas cards (ran out of time as usual) and finish the little people shopping. Have a super day my friend.
    Hugs!

  55. Ok, I REALLY should be making more papers myself. Because when I see your papers I'm always like "ooooh, I want that too". And then I think "hey, I could PROBABLY make something similar to this. Just similar - but it's a start. lol Or, if you ever get your own paper line, please tell me. I'll run to the store and buy some. Heck, I'll buy what they have, because I don't want to run out of it. ;) The papers and the colours of this card are just amazing. That's not really "just" a card anymore, rather a piece of art that you frame and hang on the way. It's spectacular!!
