Snowflake Wonder

Hello Everyone!

Just a simple card to share with you today, this is my version of CAS you could say. I'm sure everyone must be getting sick of Christmas and winter cards by now, but I will probably be posting quite a few more before the month is out. Have to get a head start for next year!!

Hope you like it.

The background wood slats were made using a variety of DecoArt Acrylic paints, Tim Holtz distress ink sprays and ink pads as well as a little stain and a sanding block. I make one large sheet and cut it up into slats however big I need them. I cut the slats at one inch wide, distress the edges and glue them onto a backing.

I would like to thank Tatiana for the inspiration for my snowflake card, a talented lady worth visiting!

For the snow, I used some texture paste first and then some DecoArt Snow Tex to build it up into snow banks.

All of the snow is covered with a gorgeous NEW Martha Stewart glitter that I got for Christmas from my wonderful and talented friend SAMRA from Paper Talk With Samra. Isn't it so shimmery and gorgeous! If you're not familiar with Samra's work, I highly recommend to pop in and visit her, she does some amazing work!! Thanks Samra, I love my glitter!!

The snowflakes are were done with an old wood stamp. I used my Snow Cap dabber instead of ink.

The snowflake is a NEW wood set that I just picked up. I treated it with Picket Fence crackle paint and a little Pumice Stone ink in the cracks. The paper snowflake was cut with a Penny Black die.

I am entering my Snowflake card into the following wonderful challenges:

- Artist Trading Post - Fresh Beginnings (my wood snowflake and glitter are both new)
- Crafter's Cafe - Challenge #98 - Something New (my wood snowflake and glitter are both new)

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

I like that you say CAS for you lol! As always, a little piece of art that makes you smile. The snowflake looks fab and are the little fluffy things cotton buds? (Or do you call them Q tips). You may want to enter Darnell Knauss's NBUS challenge as that is to use new stuff. . . . . . Just Google Darnell Knauss and you'll get her blog.
