Purple is the New Blue!

Hello Everyone!

This card is a request from my Mom. She's a manager at an upscale hotel/resort and every year they do a different theme at Christmas time. I always make a card for her to set on the front desk, something glamorous to really catch peoples attention. This year...Mom says 'mauve'! I was like, WHAT? MAUVE? But in the end, I think this turned out OK, and Mom liked it, so I'm happy!

I cut a tag from mirror paper and embossed it with a beautiful snowflake corner embossing folder, but I have no idea what brand it is. I sprayed on some white pigment mist and then gently removed the paint from the raised areas.

The poinsettias are cut from Spellbinders and coated with WOW chunky glitter, this stuff glimmers like you wouldn't believe! The doily is from Cheery Lynn, the snowflakes are Penny Black and the tags are from Tim Holtz.

To create the background I started with a Crafter's Workshop snowflake stencil and some texture paste. I painted the card with DecoArt Wisteria Americana and then used the smooshing technique with some Dusty Concord distress ink to create some darker areas. I added some DecoArt Snow Writer and Glamour Dust here and there.

I am entering the following wonderful challenges:

***
The weather continues to be wet and overcast around here. Looks like we will be having a green Christmas this year. I decided to take a late night walk the other day, and I realized how completely spooky and awesome the trees can look when there's little to no light. Straight out of a horror movie for sure!! Some of these photos are grainy because of the extreme settings on the camera that I needed to use in order to capture these shots in the dark.

Is it just me, or does this tree look like it`s made out of gold???

These are the buildings directly East of my place...you know, the ones that block my ability to see the sunset!! Well I normally never point my camera in that direction, but on this night, I just couldn't resist the beauty of the distant Christmas lights reflecting off the lake through the mist!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Wow stunning card Pamellia, your creations always take me to a world of magic, this one makes me feel like I am in the land of ice and snow such a wonderful effect with the colours and embellishments. The pictures of the trees look awesome, I know what you mean about them taking on shapes that can be scary, I used to drive along a road where there were lots of trees and fields on the dark nights I thought they looked like monsters coming alive, lol, imagination can play funny things with the mind.

  67. Holy Moley, Pamellia! This is one glamorous card from the mirrored tag to the fluffy bows (remind me of feather boas) and the extreme glittered poinsettias! What an attention grabber for sure! I know this brought a LOT of Ooohs and Aaaahs at the desk! Fabulous work, as always! May I ask what the maker of the mirrored card is and where it can be purchased? I love that you have embossed it---I don't think you could do that with Tim's Mirrored, which I have. I think I have a bad case of Pamellia's product envy.

Your photos are indeed spooky, and you have done a fabulous job of capturing the creepy feel. But spooky in a beautiful way! big hugs to you!
