Pion Design - Shabby North Pole Greetings

Hello Everyone!
If you are interested in my Giveaway... CLICK HERE

I am super excited to share with you today, my first Christmas card using the upcoming new Christmas collection from Pion Design called GREETINGS FROM THE NORTH POLE! My mouth was watering as I sifted through all the beautiful patterns and images, I just know you will love it as much as I do!!

As you read this post, I am up north, in my home town, spending some time with the folks. I find it ironic now that I was in such a hurry as a teenager to get out of the country and move to the city. HA! Hindsight and all that, right!! This is my first summer visit in many years, so I will probably be taking a thousand photographs! I wish everyone a great weekend, and I will see you next week!

The striped panel in the back was cut with Spellbinders Ornate Squares, the large doily is Cheery Lynn French Pastry, the small doily is Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles, the snowflake is Cheery Lynn Snow 2. The small snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch, some of the laces are May Arts, everything else is from my stash.

***
Thought I would share a few pictures of the little garden in the town square called the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens. It's not a large garden, but there's still lots to see and it's very picturesque and peaceful considering it's right in the heart of downtown.

I believe this is an Annabelle Hydrangea bush. So pretty!

Surrounding this garden is a huge splash pad (that I take full advantage of whenever possible - even though I'm a touch taller than the other humans splashing about!), the square where they hold all of the festivals (last call for all-you-can-eat ribs), and the town hall. You'd never know that though. The trees and bushes are all very cleverly placed, so all you see is flowers and foliage!

Thanks to the very talented Sara Emily of sarascloset, I know now that this is a Hosta.

Possibly some sort of Day Lily? It sure as heckfire is gorgeous isn't it!!

And right above us, this awesome clock tower!

Back on the home front, I had a visit from a female Starling. Love the way she looks like she's wearing a mask! She has quite lovely plumage, many of the females are just a plain sort of grey.

This may be my favourite little baby bird other than the Sparrow. There were two baby Blue Jays sitting in the tree with their mouths open, waiting for Momma to feed them. So cute the way they topple and weeble. LOVE THEM!

Oh SKITTLES, that does not look like a great place to catch a nap!!
Come share the chair with JUNIOR!

PATRICIA trying to escape the sun, even if just for a minute or two.

And how about JUNIOR anyway? Well there is no surprise that he is lying down on the job again, but at least he's eating his veggies. He does love a good carrot.

I have woken JUNIOR from his nap for this shot, I think that face pretty much says it all, don't you!
"WHAT, WHO! WHAT'S HAPPENING? DID I MISS DINNER?"
"OH, IT'S YOU. GOOD GRIEF LADY, YOU SCARED THE BA-JEEBLES OUT OF ME!!"

Last but not least, my token morning coffee shot... straight from a horror movie!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  46. Lovely card with all the beautiful creative Pamellia touches, like snow, splatter, basket filler pearly element and lace! Love that bell pattern paper! A must have to me! You are inspiring me to use the Pion Christmas paper I bought and hoarded last year!

That garden is gorgeous, and it is somehow surprising to me that we have so many of the same flowers. Perhaps that shouldn't be so surprising, but it is. Thank you for the shout out. I can usually identify most common flowers, but Niki has me stumped on one of hers.

The family shots have me tickled pink! Many big hugs!

  49. Oh boy! A frosty creation from Pamellia! I'm looking forward to the coming snowy Canadian season so I can enjoy the wintry wonders you create! Love the hint of greenery and the pretty church inside the ornament die cut. Frozen beauty!

The Annabelle Hydrangea is amazing! Hydrangeas do not fair well here - probably the heat. When we lived in Southern CA we had Snowball Hydrangeas - so gorgeous - I loved the flower arrangements. They were quite prolific, and the more we cut them, the more blooms they produced!

Glad the squirrels are migrating to the squirrel day care. I imagine there will be even more during the winter months. They enjoy our garden with the rabbits, so we do everything possible to keep them out of there, and we finally seem to have that under control. Instead of eating one piece of veggie, they enjoy sampling every blossom and fruit on the vines!

Hope you enjoy a fabulous week-end. I am looking forward to watching one of your recent tutorials on YouTube this week-end. hugs, de
