Christmas in March

Hello Everyone!

I always have the best intentions every holiday season to get all my cards done and it never seems to go as planned, so I thought I would try to get the odd one done this summer to get the stash started. This card is made using the Pion Design collection "The Night Before Christmas".

Well it looks like I may have seen the last of the snow for this year. The forecast is sunny and fairly nice for the next couple of weeks, so upward and onward. I figured since I made a snowy card that I would share one last round of snowy pics.

For my birds today, this handsome little House Sparrow with a snow cap on...

a Grackle in the snow, what a very strange sight to see since they are a summer bird. Seems these guys were a few weeks early and then they were stuck here in the miserable snow and ice!

I"m sort of sad that I won't see any more Cardinals sitting in the snow, boy they sure look beautiful against a sea of white!

"You mean all I have to do is show up here, and you'll just supply the food? I'm so happy!!"
~Lolita~

"Cant. Feel. My Fingers!"
~Mr Chubb~

"What? I had an accident while I was shaving, OK! The cookie makes me feel better!"
~Junior~
Isn't just darling that my sweet little guy still comes to visit once in a while! I always breath a sigh of relief when I see him alive and well. Even with the missing fur, I love this little guy!

For my macro today, one last shot of that fun yellow tree I found!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  1. Lovely card with beautiful layers, but I'm trying not to dwell on Christmas and cold just now. You at least have the right background with the lovely, snowy photos! Enjoy the last of your snow! Happy Sunday, hugs, Valerie

  6. ooooooh! I would love using your House Sparrow photo on a card, Pamellia! BEAUTIFUL, as is the Grackle. I'm sorry you did not see snowy goodness as often as you like, but maybe next year? I hope so. Gosh, we have been in the mid 80s (29C) the past few weeks and that should not happen until the end of April or the beginning of May. Our caladium bulbs are peeking out of the soil, or are in full regalia, something that occurs toward the end of May. I was able to get out for the first time in 6 weeks on Friday, and drove an hour to meet a girlfriend who showed me the model of her new home, and then we walked through her house to see what stage it was at on her lot. I was able to do so without a walker! So good news for me, and I was happy to be out.

LOVE your Christmas card. I have not done the first Christmas card this year and need to get started immediately! But alas, not quite yet, with fumble fingers not being cooperative. LOL I especially like the snowflakes tucked behind your tag layers, and the pieces of assorted coordinating papers and lace peeking from behind their special locations. It's a beautiful masterpiece! Wishing you a fantastic day, my friend.
    love,

  8. What a pretty card, Pamellia! I keep telling myself that I'm going to make at least one Christmas card a month but, so far, haven't done so. I'm a little sad to see the last of winter even though it was a mild one. Love your snowy photos and the sweet animals.

  22. Good for you to get those cards done early again this year! You've just remindeded me of my own promise to myself to get one Christmas card per month done. So I guess I don't have much time left to keep that promise this month! Yours is beautiful...I love the traditional colors and the design! Great to see that snow melting on your torn layers, the die cut snowflake, wisp of lace, and twine bow. Such lovely details that set those pretty papers off!

Love seeing your winter photography! Those birds are even more beautiful set against the crisp white, and your little squirrel friends are posing pretty! I hope you are getting out now to enjoy the warmer temps! Sending warm hugs!

  28. Oh wow, fabulous Christmas card. Beautiful papers and wonderful embellishments - I love your snowflake die, it is a stunner. You are putting the rest of us to shame but you are also inspiring me to dig out some of my Christmas images and make a start.

Have you ever thought to use some of your glorious snowy photographs to make Christmas cards? All of the above would make wonderful cards.
