Mixed Media Birthday

Hello Everyone!

That's right, I said mixed media! Well I guess this is about as mixed as my media gets nowadays. A little paint, some ink, some matt gel and lots of microbeads and seed beads. The papers are from Prima's Salvage District. I love the neutral grey tones, I can add any colour flower to it I want and it always matches!

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the wood embellishments are from Scrapiniec, the sentiment is from Pion Design, all the pearls are from The Ducks Doodahs and everything else is from my stash.

It has been just like spring here this past week. Absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to get outside and enjoy it, so another round of winter photos will have to do for today.

The rain has melted all of our snow away, but I have complete confidence that it will snow again before this season is over. After all, it's only February and this IS Canada!! tee hee. Til then, some photos from when the world was white!

It's always such a treat to see one of the female Cardinals come out to say hello. Such a beautiful girl!

Hello little Nuthatch. Whatcha looking at up there?

"OK, if you're done with all the baby talk, can you feed me now."
~Mary Gold~

"Hmmm, you look harmless enough, although you do have funny hair!"

Thinking of You

Hello Everyone!

I think this Lemoncraft collection has become one of my favourites for creating something bright and cheery! These papers are from the Daydream collection sent to me by my very talented and sweet friend Lisa of A Mermaid's Crafts.

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the frame is from a Martha Stewart mold which I filled with hot glue and painted white. The sentiment banner is from DCWV and everything else is from my stash.

Nothing new to report here. Snow, rain, ice. Snow, sun, slush... repeat.

~Male Downy Woodpecker~

~Blue Jay~

I have a newcomer to the Johnson buffet. He's very cautious of me, but yet very curious about what I'm doing. He has a great tail and not a single scar on him, which is so rare! His face is tiny and cute as a button so I've named him Mr Buttons!!

"OMG, it's so far to the top! I did not think this through!"
~Missy~

"I realize this tiny cashew fits perfectly in my mouth, but if you've got anything bigger, cough it up!
~Baby Zippy~

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

I've been very busy this last week with all that was going on with Rocky, but now that he's safely in the hands of the vets, I will get back to preparing for the upcoming baby season. (if you didn't see the update on Rocky, it's posted on Facebook). The snow has mostly melted but the temps have dipped again, so we may yet get some more. Hope everyone had a great week!

Sweet little Chickadee

I must say, this little guardian of the woods sure looks handsome up there on his twig throne!
~Male Cardinal~

"Bahaha! You say they're called earmuffs? Hilarious! Now we're the same!"
~No-eared Nathan~

I had some inquiries about Nathan last time I posted a photo of him. No need to worry about this little guy, his hearing is just fine. I believe the stubby ears are a birth defect and effect only his aesthetics. He's a very happy and healthy little dude!

"Sorry to bother you up there Miss, but I'm hungry down here. Could you spare a scrap of food?"
~Perfect Patti~

"No grass, ok fine. Snow, I suppose. But I draw the line at frozen whiskers!"
~Cheekie~

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
