It's been especially gorgeous weather this last week. Not too hot, not too cold and not too windy. Perfect weather for hanging around the patio with Bumper and letting him get used to the crazy noises of the world before he has to fly away and live in it! lol. Hope you all have had great weather too!

"This picnic table is mine now, I've hit the mother load here!"
~Mr Cardinal~

"OK, I'm ready for my close up now."

There's just no denying the beauty of this girl! Despite going blind in her right eye,
One-eyed Willamina is a wonderful Mom and one of my favourite trail friends ever!
Love you to bits girl!

Using some older photos today since it's been a while since I've been out for a walk. The good news is, Baby Bumper is now being weaned off of hand feedings and will soon be eating on his own. I'm also starting to think that the little guy may be a girl, oops! lol

a macro of some fun orange mushrooms...

The Nuthatches have become very rare in this area,
so I was super thrilled to have some time with this little fellow in the park!

"I'm coming! I'm coming! I'm coming! I'm coming!"
~Gosling~

"Why. Won't. She. Let. GO!"

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far, half gone already!! Just a few pics today, haven't had much time outside since wee Bumper arrived 3 weeks ago, God bless him!! This photo is of Bumper on his 2 week birthday, he's growing so fast!!

So this is the lovely Mary with a beak full of grass for her nest. Her and hubby, Mike, took four attempts before successfully building a nest in the rafters of my garden patio. I am so glad they were successful, for they are the parents of my wee baby Bumper... can you see the resemblance! lol

Flashback to last spring when Big Kate was little!!

"So I've thought it through and I've decided to trust you.
I'm going to approach you for a peanut now, please don't make any sudden movements."
~Suzy Q~

"OK, someone's been in my stash and you're standing awfully close! Was it you human!!"
~a trail friend~

"Pardon me, did y'all see the peanut lady run by here? Could swear I smelled lunch!"
~a trail friend~

A different type of macro today, a wasp. This little guy had fallen into my birdbath, so I fished him out and watched him for quite some time as he worked frantically to dry off his wings. I finally decided to go get the camera, glad I was able to get a shot while he still had a few water drops on him.
