Did you know that the hottest temperature ever recorded on planet earth, that wasn't inside a volcano, is 56.7°C (134°F), which was measured on July 10th, 1913 in Death Valley, California? I ask because the last couple weeks, we have hit as high as 47°C. That's less than 10° short of breaking a planetary world record. JUST SAYING! For those people out there who don't believe in global warming, the proof is in the melted pudding!!

Here's a fun macro of a teeny tiny flower hiding in the grass where it's nice and cool...

"For me? All for me! Oh my gosh, I don't know what to say!"
~a trail friend~

"Holy nuts-a-roni, did you say pecans? Don't just stand there human, throw me one!"
~a trail friend~

Look who found her way to my patio... BABY PETUNIA! Omg, she's so tiny and so sweet! She couldn't figure out how to get into the squirrel feeding boxes, so I set some loose nuts on the shelf for her. I've never had the opportunity to build trust with a red squirrel before, so I'm hoping she will visit me again!

"I don't know what you're talking about, it wasn't me who ate the suet!"
~Mr Cardinal~

For those of you who don't use Facebook, I would like you to meet Bumper. He is a baby Sparrow, less than a week old who fell out of his nest. Unfortunately, little Bumper will be stuck with me as a Mom, since he won't be able to go back home.

Everybody please send Baby Bumper all your wishes.

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  1. Gorgeous cards, as always, Pamellia! Love your collection of critter photos. Baby Petunia is adorable. I hope Baby Bumper makes steady progress. I know you will give him the best care possible. It is terribly hot and humid here. Longing for the cooler seasons!

Baby Petunia is soooo cute and lucky (as Baby Bumper!) to have you!! All your trail friends are adorable and the macro looks amazing!
And then on your two baby cards: WOW!!! They are soooo sweet and really gorgeous!! How many fabulous laces and embellishments, and the papers are so delicate!! A lot of fabulous layers as always, these cards would fit perfectly for a baptism!
Here it's hot but there is wind, so at the moment not too much problems, but it say that the next week will arrive Caronte and will be very hot.
Global warming is a big damage for Nature ...sigh

  3. Hi there Pamellia, boy is that hot or what!!, we are having a heatwave here in the North of Scotland, quite amazing to have consistently good weather, but it is lovely, although tiring.
Anyway, your cards are absolutely gorgeous, I love the papers and all the net and embellishments you've used to create them.
Fabulous photos as usual, and did see baby bumper on FB, I hope he is doing well, Kate x

  4. 2 gorgeous cards Pamellia, they are such lovely papers. Wow that's hot over at yours, we're also in the middle of a heat wave here, hitting 30c most days for 11 days now which for the south of England is really mad. How kind you are to take care of little Bumper I hope he does well. Keep cool my friend, hugs xxx

  9. Your cards are divine as always Pamellia!! Beautiful papers and gorgeous fabrics and laces!! I love the addition of the straws and the images are so adorable!! Love, love, love!!
The weather is certainly changing isn't it?? Seems to be getting more extreme all over the world. We usually do get some really cold days down here during the winter but, this year, it's been icy!! Not enough for snow, but certainly a lot colder than we usually get and we're getting more of them too.
I really look forward to seeing your wildlife photos and the ones you've shown us here are just gorgeous! Lots of Aaawww moments .. LOL!! Petunia is so adorable and I do hope little Bumper does really well and recovers quickly! You are a champ for taking care of the little guy .. take my hat off to you Pamellia. The world is a better place thanks to people like you who are willing to take the time to care for our smaller creatures. Thank you, and have a fabulous day!! hugs xx

  11. Wow that macro on that flower is amazing! Your photography skills still blow me away each time Pamelia! And I love your little friends!
I have to tell you, i am not a fan of the common house sparrow . You see, we have so many birds nesting in our yard, lots of houses put up and trees to use and we provide the food and even strings or whateever. We are most fortunate to have Bluebirds come to our place each year as well. This year, Our little bluebird couple had a most horrible time producing a brood as the Sparrow(s) twice raided the Bluebirds nest. The first time I saw the eggs falling out the hole of the house and thought what the heck? When I got to the house the last egg was falling to the ground and then I scared the Sparrow off who did it! my husband was in shock and not sure if I really saw this. Well the other day, we were walking close to a new house with nest when all of a sudden the Sparroew flew out of this house, which we knew to be a Bluebirds, when we peeked inside...all of the eggs had been pecked open and the tiny bird bodies and fluids exposed. I sat down and had a cry as this was the second failed brood for the Bluebirds. I know this is nature, but it still broke my heart and now, I am no longer a fan of the once sweet lil black faced Sparrow. "(
On brighter note- the Robins are nesting and hatching prolifically! heehee And the Orioles seem to have had two or three as well!

  12. Wonderful cards Pamellia, I love how you add all that tulle it's so dreamy. Are those the lovely peach papers you've been waiting for, they are really lovely.
I don't know how you manage in those temperatures, we're having a 'heatwave' (lol) in the UK and it's been 27 degrees here which is very high for us, we're all melting... which is a bit laughable when I see the heat you get!!
Awww poor baby Bumper, but lucky him for finding you and I hope you'll update us on his progress, I've got my fingers crossed for him

  13. GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS treasures and heirlooms for a baby's first birthday, Swoooon!
Love your piccies, always great especially with the "quotes" LOL.
I can say we were hotter than Anne (above) was yesterday, we had 32C and we were driving at the time, I presume the thermometer would have been a little cooler (maybe), it was HOT, BUT, nowhere near your temperatures, the UK is finding the heat bad without air conditioners etc, but as a retired person I'm loving it LOL.

  15. Well hello Bumber and Baby Petunia - what a sweetheart. It is not quite as hot here, but it is hot and has been for weeks now, and there is no end in sight at the moment.

Two gorgeous cards, there is so much detail it is really hard to see it all (although that could be me, I have had drops put in my eyes today and I cannot focus very well, so apologies for any typos, haha!) You really do have some gorgeous lace in your collection and I love, love, love those stunning flowers.
