Well, it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More! This time around our lovely hostess Marlene has chosen the theme SPRING HAS SPRUNG, so she would like to see your Spring themed creations. That could be a new life (baby) either animal or human, spring flowers, soft spring colours etc.
I decided to go for spring colours and spring flowers. Here is my shabby make.
I made a variety of flowers for my spring garden. The dies I used here are Spellbinders Create-a-Carnation, Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia andSpellbinders Foliage. They were coloured using Tim Holtz distress inks Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey.
The fishtail banners are from My Favorite Things. The roses were stamped with Ranger Archival ink Coffee and a Kaisercraft stamp from the Porcelain Rose set. The birdhouse was made using crafter's clay and a silicone mold. I antiqued it with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs distress spray.
The ribbon was coloured with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany and Wild Honey. The frame was cut from Tim Holtz / Sizzix Tag and Bookplates. I antiqued the frame using DecoArt Weathered Wood Finish Crackle medium and DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic Tan and White paints.
For the background, I painted a piece of pale pink paper with a coat of DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic White and Tropical Blue paints, then I embossed it and sanded off the pattern so the paint and paper would show through.
I am entering the following wonderful challenges:
- Through The Craft Room Door - March 17 - March 23

ReplyDeleteQuite pretty flowers, especially the lily looking ones! Did you make the tulip buds, too? Love your shabby cards! Miss the texture paste!
ReplyDeleteHi Marci. Yes, the tulips buds were made using the same poinsettia die, I just wrapped the petals around a big bead to make them look like buds. HAHA, I hear you about the texture paste, I guess I was concentrating on flowers instead! lol. hugs :)
DeleteSo beautiful, soft and pretty. I wish I could do shabby chic!
ReplyDeleteBec xx
Wow, Pamellia, I love to look at your work and just try to see every detail at one time, but I find myself gawking at this for a while, then coming back again and again, staring some more to take it all in. Your background is lovely by itself, with the layers of patterns and textures, and those flowers, bow and frame (LOVE it all!) are oh, so yummy! And I am always in awe of your homemade clay embellishments. I'm going to have to get my hands on some of that crafter's clay. I've tried using paper clay for molds and I don't like the way they turn out.My, this is GORGEOUS! Big hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Pamellia. such pretty spring colours and so many beautiful details as always.
