Welcome to another challenge starting over at Try it on Tuesday. This time around our theme is perfect for this time of year - NEW BEGINNINGS. New baby, new home, new couple...etc.
I decided to go with a baby card. I have several people in my life you are expecting this year, so I figured I might as well get a head start. I went with a girl card, chances are somebody will have a girl!
The peach layer was painted with DecoArt Americana Acrylic paints Melon and Coral Blush, then stamped with a Rubbernecker stamp and then highlighted with a white pencil crayon. The green layer was painted with DecoArt Americana Acrylic paints Pistachio Mint and Citron Green. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.
The little baby footprints were stamped and the punched out and stuck on the back of an epoxy sticker. The little calender has a dewdrop on the due date, but I will move it to the correct day once the baby is born. If you look on the flowers, you can see I used Glossy Accents to put itty bitty dew drops on the petals.
The flowers were cut using Joy Crafts Flowers die set and coloured with Hero Arts Soft Blossom and Tim Holtz's new Abandoned Coral...LOVE THIS COLOUR! The music notes are from Memory Box. The pretty little butterflies are from a Stampendous Charms set. I stamped them with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink and fussy cut them out. The filigree leaves are from Prima and the doily is from Crafty Anne's.
I am entering my baby card into the following wonderful challenges:

What I love about this card is that although it's a fantastically wonderful baby card - you could take out the footprints and words and it could be an anytime card. It's just beautiful in every way. And that green... just almost looks real - like you could touch it and feel life! I honestly get excited when I see My Little Craft Things come up because you create to inspire Pamellia. j.
ReplyDeleteHi, Pamellia! I love how you use black & white butterflies to bring such a sophistication to your floral designs! This is SO pretty. I especially like the music die cut "fluttering" music basking in the garden! Great design idea! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteWow another stunner . It's a real treat each morning to see what you have created . Love the color combo so soft and feminine and those flowers are amazing the green ones look like they have a waxy feel to them . Did you coat them with something ?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, you're the second person to use the word waxy. They are made of fabric and it has a bit of a sheen on it, like polyester ribbon. It's very subtle but I guess my camera caught a bit of it.
DeleteOh! this is tooooooo beautiful, what an hearloom this will be for the baby girl, I love the dew drop on the date she will be born, just utterly beautiful. The flowers look so real and love the footprints and the butterflies and the music, GORGEOUS.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Pamellia and I am sure you will find use for it some time in the future.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Have a great crafty week, Angela x

Hi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteHow thrilled will the parents be with their new arrival? No, not the baby but this fabulous card lol!
Beautiful floral arrangement and did wonder if you had some psychic ability by highlighting the date lol!
Go steady with the rum in the daiquiris as you may be required for babysitting duties. . . . . .something I find best to be sober and wearing earplugs for lol!
Best wishes.
