Swan Lake Birthday

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card made from the newest Pion Design collection "My Dearest Sofia". I just love the soft blue tones in this collection, they would work for any occasion, but I thought of a warm day by the water and a lovely swan swimming gracefully by.

Well the weather certainly has been a bit bipolar around here this week. We've had snow, freezing rain, regular rain, hail and even a warm sunny day! What the deuce! So my photos are bit all over the place as well. Happy weekend everyone!!

For my birds today, this sweet little Chickadee...

a stunning Seagull...

and a beautiful Blue Jay...

"Tee hee, how smart am I! I knew if I hid back here that she would fill up the bowl eventually!"
~Maria

This is my sweet little friend Patty Cake. She is extra tiny and is very shy around me. It's hard to get a good picture of her, she's usually hiding behind a stump or a tree. She's named after Patricia, who sadly lost her life during a tree culling this winter.

I think we could all use one last picture of Mr Chubb covered in snow. I'm sure he won't miss it, judging by the look on his face!

"Ummmmm, I came up here for some privacy lady. Are you seriously still aiming that camera at me!"
~Crazy Karen~

And for my macro today, some of that freezing rain I mentioned earlier...

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Well our snow is all gone now and the temperatures seem to be getting a little better each day. I probably won't have any landscape photos for a while. As attractive as I think that MUD is, I'll probably hold off a bit until some green shows itself. So I'll get straight to the wildlife!

For my birds today I have this sweet little Chickadee...

This is my first ever photograph of a White Breasted Nuthatch!! They are wicked fast, sort of rare and do not like humans at all, so I am pretty happy to get this this shot!

A sweet little Blue Jay enjoying the morning sun...

I'm so excited the ice on the lake is all melted away! I really missed the ducks, geese and seagulls this winter and I can't wait for lots of babies to start coming out of the reeds!!

I thought I would introduce you to a few newcomers at the Balcony Buffet! For those of you who follow me on social media, you probably know these faces, but they are worth seeing again!

First up is MARCIA. I believe you saw the back of her head in my squirrel fur macro shot a while back. She is a darling and has been through a lot with a missing tail, a limp and a wobbly walk. But she is happy and seems healthy, so rock on MARCIA!!

This is RUSTY, a very rare Red Squirrel who visits me out the side window. He is a hard dude to capture with the camera because he never stops running. This was a rare moment when he paused to let a stiff wind pass by, before he got up and zipped away again!

This is PEPE LEPEW. He is a very unique guy as you can see. He has a white nose, white ears and paws, and a white stripe on his tail. He's cautious and shy but so adorable! Just this week, he suffered head wounds from a cat attack, so everyone please send him wishes for a full recovery.

Last but not least, my macro. Some spring water droplets on a pine branch.

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Christmas in March

Hello Everyone!

I always have the best intentions every holiday season to get all my cards done and it never seems to go as planned, so I thought I would try to get the odd one done this summer to get the stash started. This card is made using the Pion Design collection "The Night Before Christmas".

Well it looks like I may have seen the last of the snow for this year. The forecast is sunny and fairly nice for the next couple of weeks, so upward and onward. I figured since I made a snowy card that I would share one last round of snowy pics.

For my birds today, this handsome little House Sparrow with a snow cap on...

a Grackle in the snow, what a very strange sight to see since they are a summer bird. Seems these guys were a few weeks early and then they were stuck here in the miserable snow and ice!

I"m sort of sad that I won't see any more Cardinals sitting in the snow, boy they sure look beautiful against a sea of white!

"You mean all I have to do is show up here, and you'll just supply the food? I'm so happy!!"
~Lolita~

"Cant. Feel. My Fingers!"
~Mr Chubb~

"What? I had an accident while I was shaving, OK! The cookie makes me feel better!"
~Junior~
Isn't just darling that my sweet little guy still comes to visit once in a while! I always breath a sigh of relief when I see him alive and well. Even with the missing fur, I love this little guy!

For my macro today, one last shot of that fun yellow tree I found!
