Pion Design - Happily Ever After

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a card featuring Pion Design collections "Patchwork of Life", "Theodore & Bella" and "The Songbird's Secret". These papers are soft and romantic, and would work for an engagement, anniversary or wedding.

I apologize for the photos, they are dark and the colours are off. I must have forgotten to change a setting because they don't do the papers justice at all.

Today I thought I would share some photos from the Twin Valley Zoo trip we took at the end of May. It's a small zoo, which I thoroughly enjoyed because it felt so private and personal. Don't let the small size fool you though, there was a wonderful variety of animals there, even ones the Toronto Zoo doesn't have! We will definitely visit this place again!!

I have a thing about eyes, and the eyes on this Demoiselle Crane had me completely hypnotized! What an amazing bird!

I absolutely love the amazing shimmer on a Peacock's feathers! I could watch these beautiful birds strut around all day!

"Hey lady, you think you're annoyed... I have a big piece of dead grass between my eyes and no way to get it off with these stupid short legs!
~Mr Capybara~

These little guys were the main reason we decided to check out this little Brantford attraction. Baby Ring-tailed Lemurs!! Cuteness overload!! I mean seriously, don't you just want to take one home!! This species is at risk of going extinct in the wild, so this was a once in a lifetime experience! WOW!!

When a rabbit and a kangaroo have a baby! Patagonian Mara. Blam! So freaking cute!

I would like everyone to meet Taylor. She is a baby Starling who has decided that I am a person she can trust. She sits on the chair beside me, eats out of my hand and hangs around in the tree staying cool on hot days. I've never made friends with a baby bird before, what a thrill!!

"What do you mean say something funny? I'm kind of busy being adorable here. I don't have time to be a comedian too!"
~Rusty~

"My Mom warned me about that camera thing. You really DO always have it pointed at me while I'm eating!
~Baby Kay~

"So I sit up here and eat my cookie, and you'll stay down there and take my picture? Fun game! Let's play again!"
~Baby Mickey~

Back in April, my best bud Crazy Karen showed up with some pretty bad injuries on her back, the back of her head and her front leg. She was scared of me, she wouldn't eat out of my hand or even come down off the roof.

I threw food to her, but she losing weight rapidly and I was so scared for her. Nursing 3 little ones, fighting off infection and still trying to forage for food, it was becoming too much for her. Then 3 weeks ago, she disappeared and I feared the worst.

Three days ago she showed up looking all shiny and new! She was hesitant, but I sat on the patio floor with her and just talked to her while she ate. Yesterday she ate from my hand, and today I was able to gently pet her arm for the first time in months.

Oh how I missed her smile and gentle nature. I love you sweet girl. ❤️❤️

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

The weather here has been wonderful this year. We have had tons of rain and the temperatures have been fairly mild compared the normal. The park and trails are green and lush this year, making my walks so much more enjoyable.

Duckling above - Chickadee below

I think my husband would tell you that I actually started dancing when I realized that the flooding at the river allowed this Cormorant to come close enough to shore for me to get a close up shot! What a gorgeous bird, I hope to see him again soon!

"Errrrrrrrr, ok, I know why I'm laying down on the forest floor. What's your excuse!"
~Mr Cottontail~

"Oh my gosh, is that flower for me! It's so beautiful! Now... How do I open it?"
~Princess Tabitha~

"Ahhhh, I know you're trying to fancy up the patio, but is it necessary for me to stare at a frog's butt while I eat!"
~Delilah~

"Silly human. I'm just a baby, I'm supposed to get food all over my face!"
~Baby Mickey ~

"Don't tell my Mom because she says I should eat lots of veggies, but the human has a bag of cashews and I'm wiggling in my fur to try some!"
~Baby Kay~

Thank you to everyone who has stopped in to say hello. I just love logging in and seeing how everyone is doing. I hope to find the time to hop around and say hello back to all of you!!

I hope everyone is enjoying summer so far. We have had much better weather this year than we did last year, so I have been spending a ton of time outside. So many squirrels to photograph and not enough time to do it! lol. For today though, I thought I would share some photographs that I took at the Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls. What a wonderful experience that was, one I plan to do again next year!

White Cheeked Turaco

Chaco Chachalaca

Nicobar Pigeon

Zebra Finch

Java Sparrow

Back on the home front, there are babies everywhere!! What a wonderful time of year!!
Baby Duck

Baby Geese

"OK Mom, what now?"
"Patience little one. Eventually the human will go inside, and then we can grab all the squirrel food!"
Baby Starling named Taylor who has taken a liking to me!

So is this an alien, is it a bug, or is it a baby Red Winged Blackbird? You be the judge! Lol

Let's not forget about my darling baby squirrels!!
"I'm pretty new around here, so I have to ask... Isn't there supposed to be food in here?!!
~Baby Mickey~

"What the hell is that thing! Is it just supposed to sit there like that! I think I saw it move!"
~Baby Kay~

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
