Not sure what to say about my walks this week other than... NOT TOO SHABBY!! Thank you very much to Faith of Daffodil Cards for identifying these white flowering trees as Amelanchier Canadensis, otherwise known as a Shadbush. Oh yeah, I totally could've guessed that one! (note the sarcasm) lol
OK, so this nest one is a little artsy fartsy, but I'm enjoying playing with all the fun settings on the camera!
beats me...anyone? anyone?
I have such mixed emotions about this big giant tree in my token morning coffee shots. On one hand, I would really like the leaves to grow in so that I can listen to them blowing in the wind and enjoy some lush foliage. On the other hand, I won't have such a wonderful view of the sunrise!
Is it just me or does it look like the sun is about to explode?? WOW!
And from my bird-watching window today, a European Starling! I actually took this picture a few weeks ago when it was still cold outside...turns out I won't see this gorgeous feathery coat until next winter.. FACT: The European Starling is covered in white spots during winter, but they turn dark and glossy in summer. PERFECT, so just as I identify one of the local birds, it's pulls a Superman and changes it's appearance! DOH!
"Sshhhhh, it's wabbit season. I tawt I taw a bunny wabbit...I did, I did taw a bunny wabbit!"
...an Eastern Cottontail to be exact!
How did you like my Tweety imitation? lol
OK, so these next couple of pictures might melt your heart a little bit because they are just so darned cute!! I saw my first Red Squirrel, and it was the size of a chipmunk! Oh my gosh, a teeny tiny baby! Here you can see him holding a peanut, and it's the same size as his head!!!!
After he finished his lunch, he crawled up onto a branch to take an afternoon nap! I stood there for quite some time, just watching him sleep! Awwwwwwwwwwww!!
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
This certainly is something a little bit different for you Pamellia, but clearly you also do masculine with the same unique flair as all your more feminine creations.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday.

Hi Pamellia, This is such a fabulous masculine card and I've really enjoyed watching the video of how it was made. I think we crafters all struggle to make cards for the men in our lives. You card has a wonderful, vintage feel to it and the papers and images just work together so well. Lovely photos too, and it's great to see that Spring has finally arrived. I look after my little Granddaughter through the week and I often take her for a walk to a local park. It was wonderful this week to see all the fluffy little ducklings, they are just so cute. Thank you for sharing your photographs and for your wonderful crafting inspiration. Wishing you a happy day. Warm craft hugs, Sandra :) x

Love the card and the new, masculine papers, but the photos stole my heart again, especially the sleepy squirrel, too cute. We have the starlings here, too, a flock of them sometimes visits my balcony, and they eat everything they can find! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe pink flowering tree is crab apple, look here: https://www.barcham.co.uk/assets/uploads/products/F2_-_Malus_rudolph_flowers.jpg

DeleteI had to make a little comment on this piece. The layers are great, nice to see how you put them together. It's difficult sometimes to do layering properly to give dimension to the card xx

Pamellia, you create magic so effortlessly! I would be completely stumped by these gorgeous papers because masculine cards are so challenging... but you have waved your magic fairy wand to create layers upon layers of delight. The design is incredible and I am especially enamored with the paper timepiece. It's glowing in magnificence. I look forward to watching your video. I am super disheartened with my card today (I did not have time!), but coming here has taken off the sting... I am once again wrapped up in happiness. Thank you for that. :o)

Wonderful card. I really like all the vintage elements and that car is super. So much dimension and texture on the card. Thanks so much for playing along with us at The Male Room, Deborah. DT.
ReplyDeleteBTW - Wonderful photos!
Wow, I am so excited. I love this card, it is so different for you, and whilst I shall never stop adoring your fabulous soft and pretty designs with all of their lace and glorious flowers, this is something rather special.
ReplyDeleteFrom watching your video I can see where I go wrong with this type of design. I want to show every last bit of the papers but you are very brave and cover a good half of the images. But it really pays off.
All of the little babies today are so sweet, I hope they are keeping warm when it turns cold.
Dionne xx
PS I just need to find a Pion stockist in the UK!
beautiful card !
ReplyDeleteSeems that it took me forever to scroll to the bottom of your comments section lol! That is so cool! And this card is my new fave of yours! Love the masculine vibe and feel and those papers really do look interesting and fun. Of course my Bubbles original card is my totally absolute favorite but this is a close second. Can't wait to watch the video! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
ReplyDeleteI do love your masculine makes just as much as your frillies! This has so much to look at, and each piece of the collage is perfectly placed! Well done with these fabulous papers!
ReplyDeleteI was tickled pink by your finding a baby squirrel and so sweet that it needed to take a little nap, just like any baby! Lauren and I found a baby squirrel at the park the other day, and we named it Sox. Pockets is the name we gave to the baby squirrel who got caught on the screen of our screened porch a couple years ago.
I can totally see where you have mixed emotions about the trees getting their foliage. That's an awesome place to view the sunrise! Gorgeous shots! Hugs to you!
Hi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteMen are pesky folk to make cards for but this is perfect. Fab layering as usual and great dimension.
Always a thrill to see your latest wildlife snaps.
