Merry Christmas to a Dear Friend

Hello Everyone!

Today's card I'm going to share with you was made for my kind, sweet and talented friend Maya (Cebelica). She sent me the most beautiful birthday card, which I will try and post a few photos of this weekend. For now, here is the Christmas card I sent her.

The bottom layer and the oval were made with my home-made glitter paste using DecoArt Spun Gold paint. You can find the tutorial for that HERE if you're interested. I painted the layer with DecoArt White acrylic paint and then used a Crafter's Workshop stencil Quatrefoil to lay down the glitter paste.

The wood slats were handmade with my bark technique. Sorry I haven't done a tutorial for that yet and it's a bit lengthy to explain. I added some Snow Tex and iridescent glitter to to tops of the slats.

The poinsettias were cut using Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia die and covered with Ranger Stardust Stickles. In the center I put a pearl with some iridescent and gold micro-beads. The pine branches were made using a Cheery Lynn Cutie Fringe die.

The big shabby bow was coloured with Tim Holtz distress inks Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs and some Tattered Angels Gold Glimmer Mist. The little ivy vine die around the edges is Poppystamps Ivy Tendrils.

I am entering my card into the following wonderful challenges:

(I originally bought that Cutie Fringe to make flowers with, but didn't like it. I only recently pulled it out and found a wonderful new use for it - pine branches)

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Firstly, birthday? Have we missed this momentous occasion? Happy Birthday Pamellia! Second, you're sending your Christmas cards already? My goodness, you are Mrs Organised lol!
Anyhoo, your card is divine. It screams, well, says very loudly, "frosty winter morning" . A view you would want from your window being sat inside a warm house, eating a bowl of Mr Holtz finest embossing puffs for brekkie lol!
    Have a great day.
