October was a bit of a crazy month in the Johnson craft room (not to point any fingers - Mr Halloween House!), so I haven't had a chance to post the birthday cards that I received or the ones I handed out. I will be trying to catch up with that now that the craziness is over.
For today, the card I want to show is one that I made for my dear friend Cec. I gave to her the other day, so it's safe to show you now. We only discovered recently that we live just an hour apart, so I have been blessed with getting to meet this talented lady in person and getting to know her as the kind hearted, funny, spirited gal that she is. You can find Cec at her blog CW Card Creations.
Happy Birthday Cec!
This is one of the new dies that arrived in my birthday order. It is Memory Box Small Circle Burst. I made the frame out of crafter's clay and a Martha Stewart mold, painted it with Picket Fence crackle paint and rubbed Hero Arts London Fog ink into the cracks. The butterflies are also molded from crafter's clay.
The peach panel was coloured with Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe and then I used some home-made texture paste and Prima's stencil Flourish Damask to add the design. I sprinkled white embossing powder on the paste while it was still wet, then heated it after the paste was dry to give it a shine.
The wood panels were made using texture paste and my bark technique with DecoArt paints in grey.
The flowers were cut from Joy Crafts Flower 4 and coloured with Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe and Memento ink Pistachio. The leaves are Cheery Lynn Leaf Set and Marianne Designs Garden Branch.
I am entering my card into the following wonderful challenges:
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
