I hope everyone had a good week. I had a rough week, as I was learning about baby squirrels all week! Yes, that's sarcasm! I started my studies to become a squirrel rehabilitator a while back, and I'm currently learning how to determine the age of infant squirrels (we call them pinkies). So far, I'm just learning from photos and videos, but pretty soon the season of baby squirrels will arrive and I will get to see them first hand! I'm so excited!! Meanwhile, how about some more winter pics.

"Who are you! What do you want! Why are pointing that thing at me!"
~Mr Cardinal~

There's no better feeling than these teeny tiny feet resting on your hand. It makes me realize just how big and powerful humans are. I just wish more of us would use that power to do good.

Blue Jay shot from last winter...

"I'm so happy, my friends are gonna think I've gone squirrelly!"
~Scarlet~

"Are you gonna be here long? You're standing right where I wanna jump!"
~Mary Gold~

"OK, I'm coming in for that cashew. No sudden movements lady!"
~Baby Kay ~

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Black is the New Black

Hello Everyone!

I don't usually use black on my cards, but I had such a good response to the black and beige Christmas card I made, and it was the first card I sold on Etsy, so I thought I would use the combination again. This card could be used for a wedding or anniversary or for that romantic holiday coming up in February.

Featuring the following papers from Pion Design:

To My Valentine - Valentine's Roses PD6806
To My Valentine - Forever Yours PD6809
To My Valentine - Tags PD6812

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the filigree hearts are Scrapiniec, the heart die is from a local store, and everything else is from my delicious birthday stash of goodies from Mom!

Continuing with some lovely wintery shots today, although we actually had a big melt this week and lost most of the snow. Hopefully it will get cold again and refresh the world with a whole new blanket of white!

"Well that's odd, the rain is all white and fluffy!"
~Mr Starling~

How much do I love a Cardinal in any season!
So gorgeous with all his red and his 'give-it-up-lady' head turn! Lol

The Nuthatches seem to be far and few between this winter, must be the cold temps.

My New Year's resolution is to take more photos of the squirrels that visit every day. I sometimes take for granted those sweet faces because I see them so often, but I don't ever want to overlook one of these precious animals again, they are all my darling friends!

This is how Baby Charlie is looking nowadays, so cute!!

"I don't think this what my tail was meant for! I'm not an umbrella!"
~Bernie~

In keeping with my New Year's resolution, I realized I've never posted a photo of Bernie. You all know Busty Bertha, well this is her brother. What a handsome little dude!

OK, so you already know my best bud Crazy Karen, but it's still worth mentioning what a complete dollface she is with her winter coat on, plus, I will never tire of posting her photos!!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

The weather here has been perfect for long walks, so I have been taking trips to my neighbour lake and I have discovered several new birds! What a complete thrill to see an animal for the first time, and an even bigger thrill to capture it with my camera!  Here is a Ruby Crowned Kinglet. He is wicked small, wicked fast and wicked cute! I didn't even know these birds existed, how cool is that.

♫♫ "If you want my body and you think I'm sexy, come on sugar, let me know. ♫♫
~Red Stewart~

It's been a wonderful start to the season this year. I saw my first ever Swan up close! Absolutely amazing birds, and much bigger than I realized!

"Oh this is so gross, I think I just swallowed a bug!"
~The General~

"Haha! Oh human, you make me laugh with your silly jokes! Go on then, tell me another one!"
~Leanne~

"Are you almost done following me around with that camera? I really need to bury this peanut in a top secret place!"
~Princess Tabitha~

How excited am I to find a new Red Squirrel friend out in The Briar Patch! With the help of some IG friends, she has been named Ginger! I look forward to seeing her again.

Everyone please keep Pepe Le Pew in your thoughts. He is still struggling to recover from the severe head wounds he suffered at the hands of a neighbourhood cat. I'm watching him closely and will scoop him up if he's in distress, but I would like him to heal up on his own if possible. This is an older shot, before the attack...

"Did you just take a picture of my butt? Don't deny it, I heard the camera click!"
~Pepe Le Pew~

I'm so excited to be entering my first springtime with the macro lens!! I can't wait to see what kinds of things I can find to zoom in on, like this new pine tree growth. Looks kind of sticky...

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
