Frilly and Funkie - Holiday Hues

Hello Everyone!

Well I sure hope everyone had a wonderful holiday...are you sick of leftovers yet?? HAHA!! It's great to back and I'm here with the last challenge of the year for Frilly and Funkie! For this fortnight, I will be your hostess and I have chosen the theme 'HOLIDAY HUES'. I would like you to create a card or project in your favourite holiday colours...any colour, any holiday you celebrate! Just don't forget to make it shabby chic or vintage. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I've decided to continue working on my Christmas card stash for next year. I am determined not to fall behind again, so be prepared for a few more holiday cards before I break out the fluffy flower dies this year.

Something I thought I would never admit is that I am thoroughly enjoying creating with pre-designed patterned papers!! As one of my resolutions this year, I have decided to dive in and give some of these papers a run for their money. Today I am using Tim Holtz papers from the Yuletide pad, and Graphic 45 papers from the Time to Flourish collection.

The stencils I used are Tim Holtz Speckles and Wendy Vecchi 3 Flourishes. The flower was done with Sizzix Spiky Floral punch and the stamens are from Linda's shop, which I coloured with Sunshine Yellow alcohol ink. The seam binding was coloured with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint and touch of Forest Moss. The berry sprig is from Petaloo, the Mirrored Stars are Tim Holtz.

The large snowflake is Tim Holtz. I coloured it with Tarnished Brash distress spray and rubbed a little Archival ink Potting Soil across the top to antique it a bit. The monocle is Tim Holtz and the little red clothes pin and brass connector rings are from Linda's shop. The snow is Ranger Texture Paste and I covered it with Rock Candy distress glitter.

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday this year. It wasn't exactly what we had planned but we were determined to make the best of it, and thanks to my sweet and thoughtful husband, our first Christmas in our new home was jolly and memorable!! We spent a few evenings driving around and exploring the area. Everywhere you look, the streets and lawns are lit up with Christmas lights and decorations!! So here we go with...CHRISTMAS PART I.

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Right about now I'm probably pouring a glass of wine, listening to one of my Dad's bad jokes and munching on some of Mom's Christmas cookies, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful comments and inspiration you have given me this year! I tried to get around to each of you to leave a personal Christmas wish, but just in case...

I wish everyone a holiday full of love, laughter and good health!!

Sparkly Christmas Greetings

Hello Everyone,

Well I thought I would squeeze in one more card before the holidays. I was hoping for a little snow before Christmas, but it looks like the only snow I'm getting this year is the DecoArt snow I used on the cards I made. HA!! This card is actually the first one towards my stash for next year...yay, I'm ahead of the game already!! lol

The background papers are from Maja Design Vintage Frost Collection. I used a BoBunny script stamp from Powder Mountain and some Potting Soil ink to add some extra design and distressing. The snow (as usual) is DecoArt Snow Writer and it's covered with DecoArt Glamour Dust.

The snowflakes are Penny Black, the image is from The Graphics Fairy,  the doily is Cheery Lynn. I have added tons of Opal Liquid Pearls down the sides, around the center circle and on all the fishtail banners.  If you look carefully, you can see little pearls and pearl snowflakes tucked in under some of the panels. Just a little something extra.

I thought I would share some of the shots of the window decorations from main street that I didn't get a chance to share before. It was such a wondrous sight to see!!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend full of merry and wonder!
