Pop-Up Snowman Christmas Card

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a fun 3 dimensional, pop-up style card in the shape of a tag. I have used papers from Michael's Craft Store, snowflake die cuts from Penny Black, and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

A little playtime in the Jungle Gym with baby Jessie. I love mornings, they're so curious and cute when they're awake but not quite awake! Lol

Oh my sweet little Dasher! It looks like he will be my last baby of the season, so sad! His eyesight seems to be improving and he is learning to climb and balance now. Don't think less of me if I give him some extra hugs and kisses!! I mean, he's just so darned cute!

Orange Blossoms

Hello Everyone!

I have been on an exhaustive search for a paper collection with some lovely peach papers in it and was having no luck. I couldn't figure out why Pion Design doesn't have peach in their colour palette, so I emailed the owner of Pion Design and requested a peach collection. I didn't hear back from her, so I continued my search and finally came across a paper pad from Recollections that had a couple of sheets of peach paper in it. This is the birthday card that I created using them.

I am now very proud and excited to announce that the owner of Pion Design heard my cries for peach and is releasing this gorgeous collection very soon!! I am beyond excited and can't wait to get my hands on this set of papers!! THANKS PION!!!!

Summer is in full swing and it is passing so quickly! I'm hoping we get some rain this year, it's almost the end of June and it's really only rained once, and it was only for a few minutes. Thank goodness for my patio full of lush foliage, bright flowers and water fountain because it's starting to turn brown in the parks again. Silly global warming!

This was taken the first time she saw daylight. As you can see, her eyes were having problems adjusting. What a dollface!

I don't get a much of a chance to take macro shots of rain drops (since we are in a drought), so I had some real fun with my water bottle mister and the blossoms on this tree!! lol

Vintage Peach Mother's Day

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day card made with some older Pion Design papers and a sheet of peach paper from a Recollections paper pad. I bought a whole paper pad for 2 sheets of soft toned peach paper, how desperate am I!! lol

The image is from Pion Design, the flowers are Sweetheart Blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts. the sentiment is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp, the ribbon was hand dyed using Distress inks, and everything else is from my stash.

So on Thursday it started snowing... and it snowed, and it snowed, and the wind was incredible! And then it started raining, and then it froze!! IN APRIL!! I don't think that the wildlife was very impressed at all!

So it started like this...

As for me, I spent the weekend watching cars get stuck in the frozen slush, feeding the birds and squirrels on the patio that were taking refuge from the falling ice pellets, drinking baileys, watching Army Wives, and adding log after log to the fire! What a weekend! I hope you all had better weather than that! Hugs for today.

Making Music

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing this all occasions card with a musical theme. The papers are from Die Cuts With a View, purchased at Michael's Craft Store.

The music notes die is Memory Box, the flower petals are Wild Orchid Crafts, the violin charm is from Emerald Creek, the floral wood flourish is Scrapiniec, the bow is made from silk Sari ribbon, the crystal pins are from Michael's and everything else is from my stash. Still playing with new laces!! lol

Today I want to update you on the status of the two baby squirrels that took up residence on my patio back in September. They were orphaned and forced to leave their nest a few weeks earlier than they should have. The boy Zippy, although small, seemed to be in fairly good health. The girl Dolly P was a different story.

Dolly was malnourished and much too tiny for her age, weighing 30% less than Zippy. I worked very hard to get her a high fat diet with nutrients and supplements. For three months I fed her every single day and by the end of November she was starting to look plump and healthy. This was Dolly just before she started to show symptoms.

Around that time, the two babies ventured off on their own to find permanent homes. Wherever they ended up, they picked up some sort of bug. It was either Mange or Mites and Dolly was very sick! I won't show you all of the graphic images, but this is how she looked when she first got sick. By the time I was able to get the medication, this was covering most of the right side of her body and spreading to to her head and left side.

I spent the month of December nursing her back to health and trying to keep her weigh up. She isn't completely out of danger, she has lost almost half her fur on one side making her defenseless against the cold and she's lost weight again. I'm still working hard every day to help her survive the winter, but look how great she looks now!

Zippy has also gotten well and is just as cute as a button!

I realize that Zippy and Dolly are just two squirrels in a world of many, but this is my first successful rehabilitation since I started trying to care for the wild squirrels in my area. I don't often mention the losses in public, but I sure am happy to share a win with you!!
