Try it on Tuesday - Christmas is Coming

Hello Everyone!

Day two of vacation with my Mom. Thank you so much to everyone who stopped in and left a comment yesterday. I really appreciate you doing so, even when I haven't had a chance to visit you this week! What a wonderful and loyal group of crafters you are! I promise to visit everyone this weekend after my Mom leaves, until then, I am signing off! Many thanks and wishes to all of you, have a fabulous week! hugs :)

PS...You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find popsicle sticks in this city in the winter time!! GEEZ!

It's time for another fantastic challenge at Try it on Tuesday! Thank you to everyone who entered our Home Made / Handmade Gifts challenge, there were so many gorgeous projects, it was really hard to choose favourites!

This time around our theme is a simple one...CHRISTMAS IS COMING. I hope to see you all there!

This card is pretty simple, not too much to explain. The wood planks are cut from heavy card stock, painted and treated with a home made crackle paint technique using DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic paints Tropical Blue and White. I topped off the planks with some White Liquid Applique (cool stuff...it puffs up when you heat it).

The sentiment is from a Joy Crafts stamp set Happy Holidays.

I made the round embellishment with a music note stamp and Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers. I punched it out with a circle punch, edged it with Gathered Twigs and popped an epoxy sticker on it to give it a glossy dome look.

The pine branch was done with a Cheery Lynn Cutie Fringe II die and the cinnamon sticks are made from Kraft card stock and distressed with some Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs.

I am entering my Christmas card into the following wonderful challenges:

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

This is absolutely positively the most beautiful Christmas Card I have seen, probably will be until your next project where you top off the previous one...that is how it goes with you...each projects has such a special touch and intricacy that simply blows my mind! The planks are my favorite, but everything else just fits perfectly with them of course! This is me being speechless, you know...Anyways have fun and see you on the dance floor later...Hugs :) Samra

  17. Panmellia....Your Christmas card is absolutely gorgeous! I so love dimension on things and you've really created such a spendid dimensional beauty here. The corrugated background topped with those gorgeous frosty blue crackled slats and then topped off with the "cinnamon sticks", berries, pinecones and that sweet crinkly bow is just beautiful. 32. Pamellia, I'm delighted to hear you're focusing your attention on your precious mom and this special visit! I am trying very hard to get things done early so I can do the same for Christmas... but I am already so behind, so I may need to tap into a simpler side. :/ Anyway, it is the love that goes into a project that makes it beautiful, whether there were days available or mere hours! Guess what I always see in your masterpieces? Yep, LOVE! A love for crafting and the sparkling love in your heart. This Christmas card is stunning and I truly adore each handmade detail. The wood planks are so beautiful in blue and I love your cinnamon sticks! What a fabulous idea! The flowy ribbon, puffy snow, and sweet little extras whisk us away to a dreamy white Christmas indeed. Thank you for always filling my days with beauty. :o)
