In the Pink GDT - Dots or Stripes

Hello Everyone!

I am completely honoured to be here today as the Guest Designer for the wonderful challenge blog IN THE PINK. I was just tickled pink when Christine invited me to join them for CHALLENGE #55 - DOTS OR STRIPES!

Easy, right ladies! The only thing to remember is you need to use lots of pink on your creation! I do hope you will hop on over and enter your cards...and while you're there, have a peek at the amazing creations that the talented Design Team came up with! Here is my make.

For the background I used a home-made stencil and two colours of DecoArt pink paint - Cherry Blossom and Wild Rose to make the stripes. Splashed a little pale pink paint here and there and edged with Tim Holtz distress ink Gathered Twigs.

I used the Prima Decor 2 stencil and some home-made texture paste to add the floral design peeking out from behind the hearts.

The corner piece and the butterfly were made from crafter's clay and silicone molds, painted with Ranger Picket Pence Crackle Paint, rubbed with Gathered Twigs distress stain and dabbed with Picket Fence paint.

The sentiment is in honour of BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. A subject very dear to me, so hopefully I can fit in some extra pink this month. I stamped the sentiment with Ranger Archival Coffee ink from a StudioG alphabet stamp set.

The heart dies are Go-Kreate, the banners are My Favourite Things Fishtail Banners, the flourish is Memory Box Elegant Scroll. The rose stamp is LaBlanche, the small damask stamp is Inkadinkado and the dots are from Technique Tuesday. Everything was stamped using Hero Arts Shadow ink Pale Tomato.

The flowers were made with Joy Crafts Flower 4 and coloured with Hero Arts Shadow ink Pale Tomato. The white flower with the pearls was cut from Memory Box Large Chloe Stem. The doily peeking out is from Cheery Lynn French Pastry.

Here is a side shot of the card so you can see the 3d pillow heart I made using the crimper technique to soften the paper. I stuck a hat pin through it for some extra interest.

I would like to send out a special thank you to those challenge blogs hosting Breast Cancer Awareness challenges. Thank you for supporting such a worthy cause!

- Scrapper's Delights - Challenge #33 - Anything Goes / Monochrome
Fussy and Fancy - Challenge #124 - Lots of Pink or Breast Cancer
(My 2nd entry for Fussy and Fancy - I don't normally enter more than once, but I was excited to enter a Breast Cancer Awareness card this time)

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
