We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and it melted quite a bit of snow, but by the time the sun went down, the temps had dropped back below zero and the wind was up to 70 km/hr again. Looks like more snow for us this week, so I'm sticking with more snow pictures.
For my birds today I have this sweet little Chickadee, enjoying the day regardless of the snow...
a male Cardinal watching the snow fall with much confusion and frustration...
a stunning European Starling looking downright annoyed at the snow...
... and this beautiful female Mallard Duck who seems to prefer just say to heck with it and have a bath in the snow!
"I knew this fat ass would come in handy! I just prop it towards the wind and snow and I've got a built in tent!"
~Busty Bertha~ before the moulting
"The sun is coming up and I've just discovered the all-you-can-eat buffet! What a wonderful day!"
~a newbie~
"OK, did something just fall on my head? What is it? Get it off!"
~Mr Chubb~
For my macro today, some snowflakes that came to rest on a single strand of a spider's webbing.
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
The card is beautiful, love all the layers and the soft colours. Great photos, I'm glad you're enjoying the snow, I am enjoying spring here! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of your little critters, Kate x
Love your rolled paper layers, and the way our little bird is perched atop the frame and music flowing through the hair. Every song bird deserves to be immortalized like this! They bring such joy to the community with their singing. Lovely papers! I especially like how you cut the doily in half, and tucked part under the layers, and the other is higher up in the order of layering (how about that? The Order of The Layers!
ReplyDeleteSo you don't even use water when curling your paper? Thanks for showing how you made the "tubes" of paper - I had no idea! Loving the little pearls on your musical notes - so many SWEET details, Pamellia. Than you!
Sweetness is... visiting your blog and enjoying nature. Thank you for the photos!
Wishing you a deliciously cool-weather day!

Another beautiful card Pamellia and I watched your video...in fact I have had a very enjoyable time watching LOTS of your videos and trying to guess what colour your nail lacquer would be each time!! I actually think I am going to follow one of your tutorials and have a go at a masterpiece of my own...watch this space. Finally, Busty Bertha and her "fat ass" had me in hysterics...could have been me saying that!! xx

Absolutely beautiful! And your video rocks, as always.
ReplyDeleteGoodness .. what can I say except 'absolute perfection'. This card is a pure delight!! The colours are lovely and the layers just spectacular! Haven't got the time to watch the video right now but have bookmarked it for later today. Can't wait to see it!! Love, love, love this!!! (might have to do another lift!! LOL!!) As always Pamellia, your photos are brilliant! Can't believe all that snow. As you know, hubby and I have just come back from a cruise and the weather here back home has been quite hot the last couple of days .. in the low 30c (not sure what that is in fahrenheit) so that snow looks totally delightful. Wish you could send some down here!! So wonderful to see all your sweet little friends again .. was starting to get withdrawal symptoms .. LOL!! Enjoy the rest of the week Pamellia!! hugs xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card Pamellia - I love how you have used the music diecut! The cute little bird is almost as lovely as the real ones here!! Hope the snow doesn't stop you getting out! Hugs, Chrisx

ReplyDeleteAwesome & lovely layering on this pretty card with such wonderful elements. Love your idea of the music shape over the delicate lace. Gorgeous papers, & of course those perfect roses with the birds. Always enjoy your stunning photos. The cardinal looks very cold with his topknot laid down...they look very odd when they do that. Thanks for taking the time to make a video, fascinating seeing how your card came together.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics as always, hope the snow didn't last too long, we didn't get much here in the UK at all this year
Anne x
I always get so excited to watch your videos and this one is just as awesome sauce. One of my favorite parts is the end. It doesn't end until you do that (you know what I mean). The time spent making the video is so precious and I absolutely adore watching it. You are amazeballs! This card is wonderous and so svelte. Awesome sauce dear Bubbles! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
ReplyDeleteHi, Pamellia! I've been re-watching your inspiring videos to learn how to make shabby chic cards, and I noticed you hadn't posted since March. Are you ok? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to be nosy! I'm sending good thoughts and wishes your way from a rainy part of the UK. Legend has it that whatever the weather is on St Swithun's Day (July 15) it will be the same for the following 40 days - so I'm hoping for sunshine. (It's true, we British always talk about the weather!)
Wishing you sunny days!
love Maggie Brinkley xxx
