Sending My Love - JFF Tag

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick reminder that the Winners from Anything But Cute's - Vintage Garden challenge were announced this morning. I was so impressed with all the amazing entries we got last month, I really wish we could have chosen everyone as a winner! I want to thank everyone again for all your kind words and your support, we had a great launch and look forward to many more fabulous challenges with you!!

So now on to my little summery tag here. Quite honestly, I was just looking for an excuse to play with my new Ecoline inks. Today it's PINK, YAY!! Yesterday my very wonderful and talented friend Cec came and spent the day with me! She had a great deal of influence over the outcome of this tag, so a big thank you to her for some of these details.

The wreath is Memory Box, the leaves are from Prima, the sentiment is from Kaisercraft, the doily is from Cheery Lynn. The butterfly is from Michaels and coloured with distress inks Scattered Straw and Squeezed Lemonade. Sentiment and butterflies were stamped with Ranger Archival ink Jet Black. The frame was made with a mold and I added some yellow glitter glue along with some Starburst Stickles.

The flowers were made with Joy Crafts and coloured with Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw. The leaves were coloured with Mowed Lawn (my first time using this colour...it's bright but I like it).

In the background I actually used a large damask stencil to lay a pattern, but it's kind of obscured by all the fabulous Ecoline swirls. ARE THOSE SEQUINS THAT I SEE THERE??? Why yes, they are. I actually have an entire box filled with sequins and I've never used a single one...you can thank Cec for encouraging me to put a few on the background. I love how they look.

UPDATE:
My tag won awards in the following wonderful challenges:

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Try it on Tuesday - Watches and Clocks

Hello Everyone!

It's time to start another challenge over at Try it on Tuesday. This time around our theme is WATCHES AND CLOCKS so we want to see some sort of time device in some form or another on your project.

Today I would like to introduce you to what I am going to call A BIG SHABBY MESS!! Have you ever wanted to go back in time just two minutes so you could stop yourself from making a decision that ruins the project you're working on...that was me and this card. I will explain in a bit, but first here is my creation.

And now for my disaster story. This card was actually quite pretty about two minutes before it wasn't!! I had the card fully assembled except the flowers...everything was left uncoloured, just some brown stamping and that's it. I wanted to add just a dash of yellow, so I pulled out my Lindy's Magicals powder and sprinkled a bit on the card. But when I spritzed it with water, the Magicals exploded into a rainbow of brilliant colours all over everything, infecting every tag and banner!! If there was time to start over, I really might have done so, but there wasn't so I had to work with what I had.

The moral of the story is...this stuff is wickedly pigmented, USE ONLY A TINY TINY TINY BIT!! I'm talking mosquito dropping size!! Anyway, so here it is, my big shabby mess in all it's glory! haha!!

As usual my flowers were cut with Joy Crafts Flower die set. I coloured with distress ink Spun Sugar mixed with Hero Arts Soft Blossom and the other with distress ink Scattered Straw. The leaves are from the Spellbinders Foliage set and coloured with Bundled Sage.

For the background I use DecoArt Americana acrylic paints Antique White, Baby Pink and Petal Pink along with the Weathered Wood Medium to create a crackle background. The stencil pattern is from Crafter's Workshop and the texture paste is home made.

The flowers and the clock in the center are digital images I printed on my computer and added some oil pastels for extra colour. So after the whole Magicals debacle, I tried to mute the colours with some white paint, but it just made it hard to see the flowers against the rainbow mish mash in the background. Another colossal mistake that I couldn't take back.

The clock is Weathered Clock from Sizzix, the Fishtail banners are from My Favourite Things, the tags are from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tag Collection die set. The script stamp and the dots stamp are both from Kaisercraft. I used Ranger Archival ink Coffee to stamp them.

I want to send out a special thank you to Karasiowa, I just love her work and always find inspiration on her blog. This card was modelled after one of her beautiful pieces which you can find HERE. I just love the layout and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. Thanks Ania!!

Video Journal Series 101 - How to Train Your Dragonfly

Hello Everybody!

Big day in the world of Pamellia as I have just finished my very first video tutorial on my very own YOUTUBE CHANNEL!! Yay!! I have to say that this was just about as much fun as it gets!! Along with technique tutorials, I will also being doing a video Journal Series. Hopefully each page will feature different products, styles and techniques (until I run out of ideas that is).

I would like to thank YouTubers Maremi SmallArt and france papillon for all the wonderful video tutorials, I have learned so much from them. I would also like to send out a special thank you to two wonderful and talented artists. Mo of So Much to learn, who has recently started her own mixed media blog called Old, New and Digital Too and has inspired me to pull my printer out of the closet and print off some digital images. And Jane of Jane's Journal, who does the most gorgeous journal pages and has been such an inspiration to me. Thanks Jane and Mo, this first page is dedicated to you!

So here is the video for your Sunday afternoon viewing pleasure. I would love some feedback on what you like and what I could improve on. I learned quite a bit with this first one, but there are some bloopers that I hope you will overlook...silly camera and all that!! I shot in high quality so you can go full screen, I added some lovely music and time lapsed it.

You will also notice that my right arm is twice the size of my left one. No, you're not imagining it. I have a condition that causes severe swelling, it never goes away but I do have good days...this was a good day.

Don't forget to subscribe to my channel while you're there, not all my videos will be posted here on the blog. Thanks in advance for all of your support!! If anyone has any suggestions for Journal challenges that I can start following, please let me know.
