Traditional Holiday Wishes - Chalkboard Sentiment

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is all ready for Christmas, only 5 sleeps left! I love visiting with friends and family during the holidays, everyone has twinkling lights and big bows everywhere. All the stories, the laughter, the hugs...what's not to love about that!

Last weekend, I had the honour of visiting with my good friend Cec (CW Card Creations) and her hubby at their lovely home not far from me. Her Christmas tree was to die for and so was her cooking...YUMMY! She is an amazing woman and was such a lovely hostess to boot! Anyway, this is the card that I made for them.

For the background I stamped some snowflakes from BoBunny with white pigment ink and then used my homemade glitter texture paste and a Crafter's Workshop Quatrefoil stencil to lay down the iridescent pattern...so sparkly!

The grey panel was stamped using Impression Obsession background stamp Damask. The snowflake is from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment and sign are from BoBunny. I embossed them with white embossing powder on black card stock. I fussy cut it out and then used the chalkboard technique to rough it up a bit.

The little iridescent fabric snowflakes were a gift from my Mom when she was here in November. Aren't they pretty!

The tag was stamped with Impression Obsession Swirl background stamp using Ranger Archival ink Watering Can. The striped stamp is from Rubbernecker and stamped using Ranger Archival ink Vermillion. I also added some glitter stripes with Stickles Stardust.

The holly leaves are from Prickley Pear, the pine branch is from Marianne Designs, the white sprigs are from Die-Namites and the red sprigs are from W Plus 9. I added lots of DecoArt snow and topped it all off with some Glamour Dust.

I am entering the following wonderful challenges:

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

  1. Morning Pamellia,

Blogger is up to his tricks again today and I am not seeing photos, but your reputation proceeds you and I know this will be another stunning creation.

I have family starting to arrive shortly for the holidays so my blogging time is going to be limited so in case I don't get by beforehand again want to wish you a Happy Christmas and thank you for your friendship and inspiration.

  4. Awww - thanks for the kind words. We will definitely do it again because we enjoyed having you and meeting your DH. This glorious card is still sitting in a place of honour and has already been admired by other friends who thought I had made it. For a split second I thought I might take credit - lol. I couldn't do that though and had to fess up and then show her my birthday card.
    Hugs!

  7. Gorgeous card, Pamellia. Love the combination of red and white and the chalkboard effect. You asked about the red and white bells paper background on my vintage tag for the current challenge over at CC3C. I relied on my blog but not sure you would see it. The red and white vintage bells are actually Tim's paper from his Merriment Stash collection. The papers are mostly red and white and can easily be altered with just distress inks, stains, etc. I wish those bells were a stamp! They are so pretty! Thanks for asking. Have a lovely Christmas! <3 Candy

  11. Hi Pamellia
Isn't there just something about red and Christmas? Well, its just another example of festive brilliance from the House of Pamellia. As a proud recipient of a Pamellia original, I could never adequately describe what woks of art these are. And well done for capturing that sparkle from the glitter.

  12. "Woks of art"?
What the heck was going on in my head? Dreaming of Singapore Noodles obviously! Come to think of it, you've done pizza boxes. . . . . Maybe its a premonition of a project with Chinese cartons?
BTW, forgot to say thanks for the reply about the acetate.
