Frilly and Funkie - Oh the Places You’ll Go

Hello Everyone!

It's time for another challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. Zoe is our hostess this time around and she has chosen the theme "Oh the Places You’ll Go". She would like you to make a vintage or shabby chic project with travel as the central theme. Think planes, trains, automobiles, ships, maps, globes. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

The background layer has a subtle texture paste design that I added using the Tim Holtz flourish stencil which I sprinkled with Pumice Stone embossing powder. I also added some stamping using Pumice Stone ink to match.

The large filigree bronze corner piece was heat embossed with white embossing powder to give it a shabby chic appearance. The papers are all from Pion Design and the butterflies are from Graphic 45.

UPDATE:
My card won awards in the following wonderful challenges:

Southern Ridge Trading Company - May Challenge - Anything Feminine
(Southern Ridge chipboard used - Spring Fresh Swirl Corners)

All of the following products that I used can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique

I met two gentlemen on my outing this weekend and showed them around my lovely home a bit. Turns out they run a website called Hiking the GTA. They wrote up an article about the community where I live, and I'm in it!!! They refer to me as the lady with a purse full of peanuts! It's an interesting read about how my home came to be, if anyone would care to take a peek. The article - Lakes Aquitaine and Wabukayne.

Lots of rain this weekend. The world is so pretty when it's wet, so I went in search of the perfect rain drop!

Turns out I found more than raindrops. This sweet raccoon hiding behind a tree.

A beautiful male Cardinal on the hunt for some lunch. I gave him a peanut of course!

A family of geese taking a stroll on the path.

My deserted boardwalk. So calm and serene. I love the sound of the rain down here!

My token morning coffee shot:

Have you ever wondered about the true definition of the saying "Sad and Pathetic"?? Well I finally have an answer for you. Two actually...

MR SCRUFF when he's wet

and PUMPKIN when she's wet!
GOOD GRIEF!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  1. Paris sounds like a very good basis for your take on the theme Pamellia and how pretty it all looks in the sparkling white with the soft hues of blue peeking through the layers and the Tour Eiffel makes a perfect embellishment.

  9. I always forget to tell you how much I enjoy your gorgeous nature photography, so I'll start off with that. Your skills leave me longing for the ability to take better photos. I shall have to work on that. Now, on to that brilliant card. The blue is perfect for a Paris themed card like this, and combined with Pumice Stone accents, it's gorgeous. So many wondrous layers, and lovely ink splatters and glorious use of Venice lace. It's pure eye candy, Pamellia!

  25. Fame indeed! How wonderful to be mentioned! It is a wonderful article - it did make me smile that the two lakes are man-made, in the land where there are more lakes than anywhere elsewhere in the world - but I am so glad they did build them or we would never have seen all the gorgeous wildlife! I did feel a bit sorry for the lovely raccoon in the article though....

Your Paris card is so beautiful - romantic, classy and an absolute delight, just like Paris! It really is a stunning card.

Mr Scruff does look a little worse for wear but Pumpkin still looks adorable! Hugs, Anne xx

  41. Pamellia, taking my morning coffee time to catch up with you, but it looks like I may only get to comment on this one beautiful card! And it is indeed a beauty! How ironic I was thinking of you when I came across some designer paper the other day with the Eiffel Tower on it. I was envisioning a past card you had the Tower on. But wow! I love all the gorgeous layers and details you have included, like the embossing on the background paper, the laces, the chipboard and filigree, and something I can't identify tucked in behind the gorgeous flower spray. The soft colors are just breathtaking as are all your soft layers!

I think you should link this up to Scrapy Land if you get the chance for their Lots of Layers challenge: http://www.scrapyland-blog.com/2016/05/scrapy-land-challenge-42.html

As always your photos are fabulous and those rain drops are beautiful in your wonderful photography! I agree, those dear squirrels do look sad on a rainy day! Congrats on your write up in the article lady with the purse full of peanuts! Interesting read about how the lake came to be. Big hugs to you!

Your photos of all the drops on the leaves/flowers is just spell binding. I looked them up and down four times - wow - amazing photos. You made me laugh when you called your little racoon sweet!! That's what I thought too until I came to the ranch!! Your picture is definitely sweet. As are the pictures of your darling goose family. And bless their hearts... Mr. Scruff and Pumpkin do look pitiful but they are just sooooo precious. As always, this was such a treat. Xj.

Gorgeous raindrops and photos, I think those geese look like girls on a hen night!!! Fabulous photos, each one could be a story of it's own. Thank you for your blog

Those chippies are gorgeous and I actually have those sitting on my desk waiting for me to play with. Fantabulous and stunning! I read the article with the lady and her purse full of peanuts. How sweet it sounds and the article was full of so many informative tidbits about where you live. It was very unfortunate to read about the possible distemper with the raccoon, distemper is something you never forget once you see what it does to the animal. Poor guy. The little duckies are adorable! Congrats on your article and hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
