The weather was all over the place while my Mom was here. It was mostly cold and wet, but we did get one fairly nice sunny day so off we went to the river to have ourselves a little picnic! It was windy and a little dingy without any green foliage, but Mom loved it just the same!
There was a small creek off the one side, and the ducks and geese seemed to really like that part of the river. It was very quiet there and neither of us wanted to leave!
I took this one with my phone so the quality isn't great, but show cares...
MY FIRST BABIES!!!
Here's my Mom trying to figure out what one of the strange plants we saw might be. We found some interesting ones along the river side. If anyone knows what these plants are or were, please let me know.
Mr Scruff and Crazy Karen both put on quite a show for my Mom and she was loving the close up contact we were able to get with these darling creatures! Karen even stepped inside to grab a peanut out of the bowl, Mom sure got a kick out of that!
Seems Mother Nature knew she owed me one for that crazy snow storm a few weeks ago, so she put on one heck a show for the sunrise on Mom's last day!! One of the best I've seen so far!! Dang I love my view!
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
Such a pretty card Pamellia! Lovin'' all the beautiful papers and blossoms!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty and delicate card and I absolutely love Lavender so this is definitely one of my favourites. Your photos are fabulous as always but it seems strange to see your pictures without any snow on them. I will be taking inspiration from the last two for my scene scapes as the sky is so incredibly beautiful. It's so good to hear that you enjoyed the time spent with your Mom. Sadly, I lost my Mum several years ago but I treasure every moment that I spend with my Daughter and Granddaughter, these times are so precious to me. Wishing you a happy crafting week Pamellia :) X
ReplyDeleteThe white and lilac make for such a beautifully delicate and pretty creation Pamellia, it's another real stunner.

A wonderful Spring inspired card with those lovely papers! So glad you had a good time with your mum and what a lovely photo of her! Lovely photos altogether of course. I am not an expert on flowers and plants, but one of them is a thistle I am sure. Our weather here is no better than yours, howling wind and pouring rain, - where o where is Spring this year....
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you had a wonderful time with your Mum,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card as always Pamellia i love the Pion papers .
Big Hugs

Wonderful spring card, love the colours. Glad you enjoyed the week with your Mom. Lovely photos, too, the plant with the 'bristles' is a teazle. The one with a hole in it looks like it's got an insect nest, a lot build their nests on twigs and trees, if you google 'insect gaul' you will find similar things. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh Pamellia this is so fresh to look at the lilac a green together, very sweet image love it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good week, nice pics and pretty sweet chicks.

I used to have them in my garden they are a beautiful Bluey/Purple colour flower head, look them up, I may be wrong lol! Beautiful card Pamellia, once again I love how you manage to add so many layers without it looking too much, just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteHi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteWell, you're back with a bang and an amazing vision in lilac. You really do those lovely papers justice.
Glad you had a great time with Mum. Special times that memories are made of.
The spikey plant is called a teasel in the UK. Goldfinches love them, which is why I have one growing in my garden.
Gorgeous sunrise.

love this make heaps, its just so pretty x
ReplyDeleteOh MY! That sunrise is incredible! I never seem to up and at 'em when our prettiest appear... but I still stand in marvel. Today it was 80 by 8AM, and I enjoyed the feeling of the wind kissing my face. I let all the squigglies from the oak trees fall on my head - I didn't care LOL - just stood with my arms outstretched feeling the history of this wind - wonder what distant shores it had already visited before coming my way, what beautiful mountains had it rolled over, how many miles of loveliness had it blown, before visiting me this morning. I even wondered if it was partly from solar rays from the sun, where perhaps it had it's origin. No matter what, it was beautiful and invigorating. Every moment has something to be grateful for - no matter how a person might feel during that moment. I feel badly sometimes for people who are unable to grasp the Moment's Beauty because of a chemical/mental imbalance - and I'm grateful that I can logically, if not spiritually, enjoy those times. So interesting in the one photo where some tiny life found sustenance and protection from the elements in that branch's bulge.
ReplyDeleteGuess I should say something about your amazing card - the papers melt-my-heart. It's as though the fantasy flowers are a cross between salvias, heathers and lavender! Beautiful all the way, with the pretty ways you have framed interesting pieces, and added your own dear touch with the magic only your fingers can bring. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing the walk with your lovely mom! xo
I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your mom. Why didn't you come back with her to the Carolina's?!?! Would have loved to visited. ;0 Beautiful card and I love how you added the pearls to the die - perfect detail!
ReplyDeleteI love the card, it is so soft and pretty! I always love your cards but don't always comment. I like your photos too, nice to see your Mom. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card. Love that colour scheme. The lavender in the little frame is a lovely focal point along with the bird. I always loved the smell of lavender and it reminds me of the little sachets people used in their lingerie drawers. Nice photo of your Mom - glad you got to spend the week with her and get out a bit despite the up and down weather we can't seem to shake.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Cec

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Pamellia. The patterned papers you've been adding to your work recently have really put your cards over the top. You pick just the most perfect images and pieces of designer paper that work amazing with your layering and gorgeous dimensional die-cuts. Great job!
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful pictures and I can see why you love living there. So nice to be close to the river and be able to enjoy a peaceful walk along with all the wonderful flora, fauna and wildlife. Glad you had a wonderful time with your mom, and mother nature sure put on a show for her on her last morning. xx

I hope they never forget what a treasure they have in you! Your layering is gorgeous and I love the air-dried clay frame. The sprinkling of purple blossoms and delicate detailing leave me speechless once again. Oh to be able to express the joy your work gives me! I trust by now you know, however. :o) Lovely work, Pamellia!

ReplyDeleteThe first plant pic is a teasel-glad your enjoyed your Mums visit-Fabulous card -fabulous layering gorgeous flowers and papers and love the little frame
ReplyDeleteCarol x
Wow, fantastic card!!! I continue to marvel at all of your detail, framing, layering, frilly elements and texture.... one of these year I might actually try some of this! How about a Pamellia 101 series? Sort of kidding, but not really!
ReplyDeleteAnd absolutely love all your photos - I see that Valerie already answered about the teasle and insect gaul re your unknown plants. In most places in the US, teasel is considered a weed, but it is also frequently used as a showpiece in floral arrangements, so go figure, lol! I love it, personally, but always as a dry piece, as apparently it is a bit invasive. LOVE your sunset photos, and your little critters showing off for your mom..... so glad you got to spend some time with her! xxx Lynn
Love what you did with these Pion papers! The colors are delicious and the frame and image look great! The layers and textures work to make a gorgeous Card!! I see you have identified the plants.
