Pion Design - Congratulations Dad!

Hello Everyone!

I'm back today with another masculine card for Pion Design using the new collection Mister Tom's Treasures. This collection came out at the perfect time for me because I need a whole of cards for the men in my life this summer. This one is for my Dad's 20 Anniversary of his looking after the resort Chateau Woodlands. We are having a surprise party for him in July, so shhhhh. lol

I've added a lot of black stitching to this card, which I love the look of. It's something I don't normally do, but I was really inspired by the Spotlight Post my teamie and friend Anne of Redanne put together over at Anything But Cute about Adding Sewing to your Project. Please do check it out, it's such an informative and inspirational post.

I can't even begin to tell you how gorgeous the weather has been this week. I have been out on the trails almost every day for several hours, so I have soooo many photos piling up. Here are just a few of my lovely sightings while I've been out and about.

This week I am entering all of my photos into Our Beautiful World. The prompt this week is MY HAPPY, and being outside in the nature with the wildlife...that IS my happy!!

Here you can see a Red Winged Blackbird nest. There are three unhatched eggs and one nestling. He's less than a day old because there were four eggs there yesterday. I will keep checking on this nest daily.

I saw my first ever Mink!! Wow, he was so much fun! I couldn't get any closer because he was out on the floating island. Maybe next time.

Some beautiful unknown tree flowers. I've decided trying to identify them is insane. I will just wait and see what grows on them later!! tee hee.

A Mamma raccoon watching me very closely from her home up in the tree.

Oh my gosh, would you look at this little baby squirrel!! He was running across the trail, then he saw me and just froze in his spot...like if he stayed really still, I wouldn't be able to see him. HILARIOUS!

A Seagull flying overhead. Not everyone's favourite bird I realize, but I've been practising my panning with the camera, a difficult technique, so such a crisp image was a happy outcome for me. Besides, I think they are such a graceful creature.

Out front was a line up of House Sparrows. They were patiently waiting for the Red Winged Blackbirds to get the heck off the bird feeder. Funny creatures!

Something really different for my token morning coffee shot today. I swear this is a real photograph, I know it looks fake, but it's truly how bizarre the sun looked on this morning!!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  19. Who knew a black and white card could be so beautiful? I always look at your projects and photos although I don't always comment. Sometimes I can't find words to do justice to your gorgeus work. Is the Red Winged Blackbird nest down low where it is easy access for predators? Hope we get to see more of the baby birds.

  42. Your world is BEAUTIFUL Pamellia and I am so thankful you share it with us. This card for your Dad is fun and very handsomely done. Love the frayed fabric and ribbon and wow - you did great with your sewing, for sure. The layers and the featured old car - just stunning. Congrats to your Dad. He will really adore his card. Your pictures are all INCREDIBLE and I think that you will be a hit with A Beautiful World. So many interesting shots. That sun is something else and your bird in the sky is super sharp - you are right - you did GREAT getting that shot. And that Racoon peeking around the tree - eheheheh. We have 50 bluebird houses on the ranch and it always amazes me how the eggs hatch so sporadically sometimes. Can't wait to see your next pictures of the nest! Xj.

What luxurious layers of loveliness. Your Dad will adore it. Anything with Château in the title sounds grand.
What about Château Canard? Sounds good to me lol!
Brilliant nature shots again but there's nothing graceful about a seagull when you've got a bag of chips in your hand lol!

  58. Holy smokes, Pamellia, it seems like I've scrolled down for hours to get to the end of your comments section! I have to say, I'm just amazed at everyone of your photos here today. You can see from the photos that it is a warm day, and I love seeing all the wildlife. A mink! Wow, the only place I've seen one of those is over a lady's shoulders! Oh and to see the new born blackbird is just breathtaking! Our garage is full of fledgling house wrens, and even though Mama and Dad know how to get in and out to feed them, they have not quite figured it out. It's quite noisy in the garage right now! And baby squirrels! LOVE them! Last week I was driving home and there were two in the road...they froze and I had to wait for their Mama to come push them to safety. So adorable. Now as for that sun...that's almost creepy as a sunrise!

Your shot of the seagull is amazing, and yes, they are not my favorites. Beautiful and graceful in the sky, but I've never forgiven that sky rat that stole my sandwich right out of my hand on the beach!

As for your masculine card, it's a work of art, and your Dad will treasure it! I love the black and white theme, the ribbon and all that fabulous stitching! My hat is off to you for being able to master your sewing machine, since mine is giving me fits right now! Love this! Big hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Your Dad will love this - for sure!! I am so impressed with the seagull photo but of course I enjoyed them all…WOW! a mink, a nest Oh! and a frozen squirrel not forgetting that fabulous red ball!! I do believe that for now I have caught up! Hugs, Chrisx
