Oh my gosh, only two weeks to go before the big move!! I am up to my eyeballs in boxes, it' a bit of an obstacle course around here. I have packed up all the pots, pan, silverware and dishes, so it's paper plates , plastic forks and pizza from here on out. ha!!
It's time to start another challenge over at Try it on Tuesday. This time around our theme is ADD SOME METAL. I have put together a card for one of the men in my life, it's Tim Holtz meets DecoArt!
The big clock was covered with DecoArt Texture Sand Paste. I painted it with DecoArt Black Gesso and then dabbed on some DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Metallic Silver. To antique it a bit I very lightly dabbed on a bit of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Carbon Black. I gave the same treatment to the clock hands.
For the very back layer, I painted a panel with DecoArt Americana Acrylics Zinc paint and then spritzed on some DecoArt Media Misters Carbon Black. For the top panel, I embossed a piece of tinfoil covered card stock with a honeycomb pattern. Then I splashed on some watered down Americana Acrylics - Ultra Blue Deep, Soft Black and Zinc, then I rubbed on a little DecoArt Metallic Lustres - Black Shimmer.
The sentiment tag was made by pressing a stamp into some UTEE while it was still hot. I spritzed it with --- and then rubbed on some DecoArt Media Antiquing Creams - Carbon Black as well as some DecoArt Media Lustres - Silver Spark. I punched a hole in it after it was dry so I could attach the chain.

First, that tin foil covered and embossed card...I just did one like that (well last week, actually) for my spotlight. Because it was so long, I left that off. and then there's that UTEE with the stamping! But I will NEVER be able to make a card so wonderful! I love this card and all the metal!!! Wish I were there to help you with your boxes! Hang in there! Huge hugs!
