Christmas in March

Hello Everyone!

I always have the best intentions every holiday season to get all my cards done and it never seems to go as planned, so I thought I would try to get the odd one done this summer to get the stash started. This card is made using the Pion Design collection "The Night Before Christmas".

Well it looks like I may have seen the last of the snow for this year. The forecast is sunny and fairly nice for the next couple of weeks, so upward and onward. I figured since I made a snowy card that I would share one last round of snowy pics.

For my birds today, this handsome little House Sparrow with a snow cap on...

a Grackle in the snow, what a very strange sight to see since they are a summer bird. Seems these guys were a few weeks early and then they were stuck here in the miserable snow and ice!

I"m sort of sad that I won't see any more Cardinals sitting in the snow, boy they sure look beautiful against a sea of white!

"You mean all I have to do is show up here, and you'll just supply the food? I'm so happy!!"

"Cant. Feel. My Fingers!"
~Mr Chubb~

"What? I had an accident while I was shaving, OK! The cookie makes me feel better!"
Isn't just darling that my sweet little guy still comes to visit once in a while! I always breath a sigh of relief when I see him alive and well. Even with the missing fur, I love this little guy!

For my macro today, one last shot of that fun yellow tree I found!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  1. Lovely card with beautiful layers, but I'm trying not to dwell on Christmas and cold just now. You at least have the right background with the lovely, snowy photos! Enjoy the last of your snow! Happy Sunday, hugs, Valerie

  2. Well the snow made me think of Christmas and the card is so beautiful and that made me feel Christmassy even more. It is a wonderful card.

All of your creatures look happy and well fed with or without fur.

Thank you for sharing what you do

    Love Chrissie xx

  3. What a great start to your Christmas card collection for this year, it's a fabulous layered design with beautiful colours and textures. I'm sure your little critters will be happy to see the last of the snow. Our clocks went forward today so now we start to enjoy the longer evenings. Happy Spring xxx

  4. Such amazing design with this tall Christmas card! Love all these "stripes" (sorry if I don't found the right words in english...) with their lovely embellishes!! Any detail is a joy for the eyes! Love the snowflakes peeking out and the tag with the long green string looks fabulously! The snowy effect is adorable and just perfect!
Your blak and white landscape shots are really wonderful!! The birds seems so fat, but I know well it's the plumage for keeping warm theirselves... poor little souls!
Junior has came again??? YAY!!! :D :D :D I'm sooooooo glad for this notice !!! Hooray! Happy dance!!! :D He seems so hungry! :)
Lolita is just a cutie, such a fab smile she has! :)
I can't wait to see again all the others "your" squirrels friends :)
    Hugs sweet lady!

  5. Absolutely stunning Pamellia, your layers and design are gorgeous, and what glorious papers and embellishments.
Fantastic wild life photos, thanks for sharing them, Kate x

  6. ooooooh! I would love using your House Sparrow photo on a card, Pamellia! BEAUTIFUL, as is the Grackle. I'm sorry you did not see snowy goodness as often as you like, but maybe next year? I hope so. Gosh, we have been in the mid 80s (29C) the past few weeks and that should not happen until the end of April or the beginning of May. Our caladium bulbs are peeking out of the soil, or are in full regalia, something that occurs toward the end of May. I was able to get out for the first time in 6 weeks on Friday, and drove an hour to meet a girlfriend who showed me the model of her new home, and then we walked through her house to see what stage it was at on her lot. I was able to do so without a walker! So good news for me, and I was happy to be out.

LOVE your Christmas card. I have not done the first Christmas card this year and need to get started immediately! But alas, not quite yet, with fumble fingers not being cooperative. LOL I especially like the snowflakes tucked behind your tag layers, and the pieces of assorted coordinating papers and lace peeking from behind their special locations. It's a beautiful masterpiece! Wishing you a fantastic day, my friend.

  7. Wow, Pamellia, your Christmas card is amazing!! Your layers are perfection, as always!! I love the snowflakes tucked behind the tags and the gorgeous papers you used!! The lace peeking out is so beautiful!! And the drips of snow top this stunning card off perfectly!! I love, love this!! You've made me want to dig out my Christmas papers and start creating cards!! So spectacular!!

Your snowy pictures are so peaceful and calming!! There is something magical about a world covered in white!! Gorgeous shots of the beautiful birds and squirrels!! I'm so, so happy to see Junior!! He just makes my heart melt :) Such a sweetie!! And Lolita is to cute with her snow-covered nose!! The macro is amazing!! I hope you have a wonderful, happy Sunday, my dear friend!! Big hugs :)

As for your photos, such wonderful composition, I'll miss the snow ones a little, UNTIL I start seeing the Spring and Summer ones, which I look forward too.

  22. Good for you to get those cards done early again this year! You've just remindeded me of my own promise to myself to get one Christmas card per month done. So I guess I don't have much time left to keep that promise this month! Yours is beautiful...I love the traditional colors and the design! Great to see that snow melting on your torn layers, the die cut snowflake, wisp of lace, and twine bow. Such lovely details that set those pretty papers off!

Love seeing your winter photography! Those birds are even more beautiful set against the crisp white, and your little squirrel friends are posing pretty! I hope you are getting out now to enjoy the warmer temps! Sending warm hugs!
