Try it on Tuesday - New Beginnings

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to another challenge starting over at Try it on Tuesday. This time around our theme is perfect for this time of year - NEW BEGINNINGS. New baby, new home, new couple...etc.

I decided to go with a baby card. I have several people in my life you are expecting this year, so I figured I might as well get a head start. I went with a girl card, chances are somebody will have a girl!

The peach layer was painted with DecoArt Americana Acrylic paints Melon and Coral Blush, then stamped with a Rubbernecker stamp and then highlighted with a white pencil crayon. The green layer was painted with DecoArt Americana Acrylic paints Pistachio Mint and Citron Green. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.

The little baby footprints were stamped and the punched out and stuck on the back of an epoxy sticker. The little calender has a dewdrop on the due date, but I will move it to the correct day once the baby is born. If you look on the flowers, you can see I used Glossy Accents to put itty bitty dew drops on the petals.

The flowers were cut using Joy Crafts Flowers die set and coloured with Hero Arts Soft Blossom and Tim Holtz's new Abandoned Coral...LOVE THIS COLOUR! The music notes are from Memory Box. The pretty little butterflies are from a Stampendous Charms set. I stamped them with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink and fussy cut them out. The filigree leaves are from Prima and the doily is from Crafty Anne's.

I am entering my baby card into the following wonderful challenges:

Just a quick reminder to have a hop on over to ANYTHING BUT CUTE and meet our next design team member! First challenge starts May 5th.

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Tim's 12 Tags of 2015 - April

Hello Everyone!

I would like to say Thank You to everyone for all of the wonderful congratulation messages here and on the Anything But Cute Blog yesterday. It was just such a warm welcome, I really appreciate it so much!

Today I'm here to share my take on Tim's 12 Tags of 2015 - April.

In my book, this is CAS! It took great restraint not to add about a billion other things to my card, but what the heck...it was fun building these 3d flowers. I won't go into any details of how I put this together, I will just direct you to check out all the techniques from the master himself. I followed his instructions pretty close to the letter with the exception of the 3D flowers and the die set used for the words.

I would like to take a minute to apologize for the absolute wonky zigzag stitching on my tags! My sewing machine was being a real bee-yatch!! I ended up pulling out some of the stitches and drawing them in with a Sharpie! What's that about!! lol

One last bit of news I would like to share with you. I submitted some photos to DecoArt of the technique that I used for the background of my butterfly card, and they liked it so much that they designed a pretty tutorial graphic page and published it!!!! Can you believe that!! I was blown away and really honoured!
