It's time for another wonderful challenge over at Frilly and Funkie! This time around I am the hostess and I have chosen the theme STAMPS BE GONE. How would you decorate your project if you didn't own any stamps? Embossing folders, stencils, or perhaps a little hand doodling? Well, let's put it to the test for this challenge. Other than a small sentiment, I would ask that you use no stamps at all on your vintage or shabby chic creations.!! One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!
I decided to use lots of crackle paste to add texture and interest to my layers. The very back layer is coated with Wendy Vecchi Crackle paste, then sprayed with distress spray Victorian Velvet. I dabbed off the excess ink then lightly sponged on some Victorian Velvet paint and Picket Fence paint.
For the grey panel, I applied the paste through the Wendy Vecchi Basically Bricks stencil, then used the same technique as the pink layer, only with Smoked Hickory spray, Smoked Hickory paint and lots of Picket Fence to soften it up.
I used the Mixed Media thinlits die set to cut out the two corners of the white panel so the crackle underneath shows through. The bronze corner was painted with Picket Fence paint. The fancy die cut in the center is Spellbinders Lonely Hearts. I fussy cut it down into an interesting shape for my butterfly backdrop.
The butterfly was cut from Tim Holtz Butterfly Duo. I gave it the same treatment as the back pink panel. The beautiful lace pieces are from Linda's shop. I added a couple of Heirloom Roses from Tim Holtz and some pearls from Kaisercraft. The sentiment is from the Small Talk sticker book and the little Memo Pin is from Tim Holtz. I just painted it with Picket Fence to help it blend in more.
A special thank you to the very talented Mona Pendleton. I always find such inspiration in her work, and for this card I was inspired by her gorgeous piece that you can find HERE. Thanks Mona.
All of the following products that I used can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique
