It's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More. This time Julie is our hostess and she has chosen the theme COMBINE TWO OR MORE IMAGES. She would like to see two or more images combined together digitally or by using the more traditional method of masking.
As you can see, I have packed my glitter and poinsettia die away for the time being and I am heading back towards a more summery style of card! As much as I love my glitter, I have to admit, I MISSED ALL THE PINK!! lol
I don't do digital, so I decided to do a bit of masking and a bit of layering with my stamps to create a 3D focal image. I used masking to merge together the Stamp-It clock and the Kaisercraft bird. I layered that on top of the Kaisercraft birdcage and Prima rose. The colouring was done with some Copic markers.
Hopefully you can see all of the wonderful layers that I used to give my little spring garden lots of dimension! Foam dots galore, so much fun!! lol
I told you that you would be seeing more of my new shabby roses and here they are! I coloured them with a touch of Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet and Scattered Straw. The leaves are from Spellbinders Foliage and were coloured with Scattered Straw.
The back layer was coloured with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet and stamped with a border vine from Kaisercraft Lakehouse using Coffee Archival ink. The yellow layer was coloured with Scattered Straw, stamped with a Kaisercraft Script stamp and and edged with Gathered Twigs.
The tag was cut by hand, coloured with Victorian Velvet and stamped with an Impression Obsession rose background stamp. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.
Let's discuss my New Years resolution, which is to use some of the many many untouched dies that I own. A couple of years ago, I spent a small fortune collecting every die set I could find but I never use most of them. I swore this year I would pull some of them out because there are just so many in my collection. I did a quick count the other day and here are the results.
I OWN MORE THAN 800 DIES!!!!!!!!!! so................
I pulled out the never-before-used Ornate Square from Spellbinders as well as 3 dies from the never-before-used Floral Flourishes. I like these flourishes, I'll be using them again!
OK, FOUR DOWN, 796 TO GO, SHEEESH!

DeleteHello there! Guess who FINALLY found some time to do some blog hopping. ;) Oh, how I missed seeing all your beautiful works. This is only the first post and I already have my jaw on the floor. This is just sooooo beautiful!!!! <3 I love all the pink and how you masked the images and all the embellishments you used. Amazing!!! I fully understand you missing pink when you are making tons of other stuff. I'm the same. I just love pink and if you check my paper pads, almost all of them have their pink(ish) papers missing. lol
ReplyDeleteMy goodness girl - you own over 800 dies?! O.o Wow!!! And I thought I had many. I've never counted how many I have, but I am sure I don't come even close to you (I doubt I even have 100). Good luck putting those that have never been used to some use. Judging by this card you're on the right path. ;)
Big hugs! xx

DeleteOooh! Naughty girl Pamelia! Who on earth would have stuff they had never used before despite having it a while??!!! 800 dies to choose from too - wow!!! You have really made me smile! As you can see I'm getting around to looking properly at my favourite blogs having been away(yep! again!!) and being frustrated by having no connections! haha, thank you so much Faith! I challenge you to pull out some of your unused dies this year! hugs :)
DeleteYour ON! LOL. but I only have a few so I'm cheating really, however I will try!
DeleteYAY!! I can't wait to see what you've been hiding in your closet!! tee hee
DeleteWell, this is the Pamellia I met earlier this year! Your card just makes me feel so happy, warm and like I'm in a field of fresh flowers! It is amazing when a card can evoke such emotions, and you always are amazing, no matter what season or style you create for. I am loving your flowers; can I come learn how to make these???? Your masking is impeccable--I thought that was one stamp! Love the great and original color scheme, too! I think I missed what die you used under the Ornate Square. Is that one of the Floral Flourishes dies (looks like it has dots on the end). This is really something, my crafty friend! I wish I had one ounce of your awesome shabby skills! And 800 dies, eh? I have die-envy! :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAahhh, thank you so much Sara! I actually got the same sort of feeling from it when it was done. For a split second I forgot that it was winter, then I looked out the window...DOH! That bit with the dots on it IS the Ornate Square. It's very intricate and has flourish-like corners. big hugs :)
DeletePretty, pink and just perfect in my eyes. It is lovely to see a bit of colour. I thought I had a lot of dies but I think you beat me hands down!! Have a great week. Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Anne! My goodness, if you had 800 Sizzix and Tim Holtz dies, you would need a storage room just to hold them, yipes! Thankfully, most of mine are the thin metal dies and tuck away without taking up too much space. hugs :)
DeleteWhat a lovely piece you have created! I love the colors, the layers and your flowers are just beautiful! Thanks for joining us at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Glenda! :)
DeleteI just adore how delicate all of your layers are on this card. Birds and birdcages are some of my favorite images and you've used them so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Becca! Great minds think alike because birds and birdcages are some of my favorite images too...and also butterflies! ha! hugs :)

Delete800 dies wow your addiction is worse than mine lol x x
ReplyDeleteHAHA, guilty as charged! :)
DeleteHi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteOh if only it was so wonderfully Spring like outside. Your card is an absolute tonic on a cold dull day and the flowers are stunners again.
800 dies? Holy guacamole! Hope you mean dies rather then sets of dies (some sets do have 10 dies so then its not so bad lol!)
Hope Mr J isn't reading this or he will know where his early retirement fund has gone lol!
Best wishes.
Ang x
Thanks so much Ang! So true, dies not sets. I have over 100 Spellbinders sets, each with 5 or 6 dies in them, plus all the singles. No worries for hubby, I support my own bad shopping habits! ha! hugs :)
DeleteSo sweet & delicate. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sanja! hugs :)
DeleteJust Beautiful. Your focal point of the merged images is brilliant and as usual your colour scheme is so very pretty. Your roses are stunning and all the little details from the stamping on the die cuts to string on the tag finish the card perfectly. Sally.x.
ReplyDeleteAahhh, thank you so much Sally! So sweet! hugs and smiles :)
DeletePamellia, absolutely stunning! Your use of color and layering with all the various elements is truly astounding.....please do consider that book :-) And also, pretty please, a tutorial on the flowers? They are so soft and supple, unlike many that I see online. Fantastic make! xx Lynn
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful compliment Lynn! I would love to do some flower tutorials but it requires the use of both of my hands, and sadly, my camera has no autofocus! Silly thing! Maybe someday. hugs :)
DeleteSo pretty in pink - delicate, feminine and such a wonderful breath of spring to this gorgeous card. And 800 dies... wow... I feel a bit better about my collection now!!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx

DeletePamellia, this beautiful creation has whisked me far from the snow outside my window.. straight into the most gorgeous garden! You merge stamps more flawlessly (and creatively) than anyone I've ever seen. The clock and bird stamps are so lovely on their own, but even lovelier together. The layers and colors throughout are truly stunning and I keep looking back at your flowers! You always form the most perfect flowers, my talented friend. I really love pink and yellow together, especially in soft tones, exactly as you made them. Inspiring as always, Pamellia! What a blessing to end a busy day by visiting you. My heart is happy. :o)
