It's time for another wonderful challenge over at Frilly and Funkie! This time Jenny is our lovely hostess and she has chosen the theme SOMETHING TO SAY. She would like you to create a shabby chic or vintage style project with a sentiment as the main focus, whether you stamp it, print it, write it or die cut it. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!
I have put together a card that can be used for all sorts of occasions. The sentiment "Celebrate" is from the Graphic 45 Time to Flourish collection. It's so fancy, I think it makes a wonderful focal point!

These are my shabby Tim roses made from the Tattered Florals die set. They are coloured with a dash of Antique Linen and Walnut Stain distress inks and coated with Rock Candy Distress Glitter for a wonderful shimmer. I am in the process of doing my first flower tutorial video and this is the flower I will be doing. The lace and twine are both from Linda's shop.
Lots and lots of layers for this card. The coloured layers were done with distress inks Scattered Straw and Tattered Rose. I stamped the large Tim Holtz Flourish using Archival ink Potting Soil onto the larger layers. The bronze filigree corner piece and the pearls are from Linda's shop.
The butterfly was done using the Tim Holtz French Flight stamp and die set, I have used a Tim Holtz Long Fastener as the body of the butterfly. The Live, Laugh, Love charm and the peacock charm are both from Linda's shop. The fancy die cut layers are from Spellbinders, Linda is now carrying a ton of Spellbinders dies, you should definitely check out her great selection.

I am so behind with my comments from last month Pamellia - please forgive me.
ReplyDeleteI need you to come to the UK and teach me how to create like this - it is so beautiful. I want to create shabby style like you do but for some reason it's just not working right for me.
Am hoping that my attempts at shabby will improve with practice and I keep reminding myself that when I first started creating cards and stamping they didn't look that great either lol!
This is just perfection and I want to reach out and stroke it. Have a fab weekend, I'm off to look at what else I've missed and I will be pinning a lot to my shabby chic inspiration board on Pinterest Karen xx
Oh wow!! This is STUNNING! Love all the layers and it's so, so pretty.
