I think I am becoming addicted to the ornament shaped Christmas cards! They are a little more difficult to put together, but it's just such a festive shape, it's worth it! I can't help myself! This one was made with papers from My Mind's Eye and Recollections. I just love these reindeer images!
The sentiment banner is from Canvas Corp, the poinsettia die is from Sizzix and I used Pion Design Palette paper White I, the leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The little styrofoam balls are actually from one of the dogs toys that busted open! Gotta recycle!
The frame is made from hot glue and a Martha Stewart mold, the doily layers are Cheery Lynn, Prima, and Spellbinders, the 3D pine branches are made using a fringe die from Cheery Lynn, the wee reindeer is actually a button from DeSerres and everything else is from my stash.

As I was skimming through Instagram yesterday morning, I saw so many people posting photographs of the snow they got this weekend. OK, I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I live in Canada and there is no snow here! Don't get me wrong, I love autumn, it's so pretty! But let's face it people, I'm a snow addict so I say bring it on already! lol
This photo was taken early in the morning before the sun came up, on the edge of the lake.
Enjoy the sun little one - soon the cold will have begun.
(or perhaps that's just wishful thinking on my part)

Flashback to when Taylor was just a baby.
She's almost fully grown now, but I haven't been able to get any good shots of her.
So remember the landscapers and their habit of scooping up leaves faster than they fall? Well I figured if I want some autumn squirrel pics that I better do it myself, so I walked out to woods, filled up a bag with leaves, then walked back to the park and dumped them on the grass! HELLLOOO!
"So what if I'm a squirrel, who says I have to stand while I eat!"

"Oh Hello. My name is Tingle. I'm a very curious little squirrel. I love to watch the human and make her giggle by popping up from behind the tree! Hope to see you again!"
"OK, that crap in the food bowl tastes like feet! Now stop joking around and gimme a cookie!"
~Crazy Karen~
(Karen's response to fresh pumpkin. Lol)
UPDATE: Karen has been doing much better the last week or so. She still limps a bit and is still a bit wobbly, but she's keeping very busy foraging for winter and putting on her winter weight.
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
Lovely card, very festive. Great, new header, too. Love the photos of your little friends. I don't much like snow, perhaps we could have any of that white stuff meant for here sent over to your place? Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWow what a wonderful card Pamellia, every bit of it is amazing. Loving all the details and the frostiness, love all the reindeers too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Kate x
Karen reminds us of how resilient we can be - how truly strong we are - no matter what happens, isn't she, Pamellia? Yippee for your snow! Would you believe this morning we have frost? Sheesh! Is there no normal Florida Fall? I'm not going to complain - it's a nice break from that horrid humidity (do you appreciate my alliteration?)
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas ornament is fantastic! I especially love that you've put DOG TOY SPILLAGE on your card - it shows that you can make ANYTHING look magnificent with ANY stuff you find. That comes under the heading of marvelously magical (more alliteration). I also am in awe at the molds you make using hot glue. I've not tried it yet.
Wishing you a lovely week, my special friend - I mean SPECIAL in the true case (exceptionally good or precious). I love seeing Life through your eyes - will write back soon. Love, de
Your ornament shaped card is gorgeous Pamellia, would make a wonderful hanging decoration too. Love the red/white combo and all the reindeer, those papers are beautiful. Stunning combination of elements as always. I was a little concerned when I looked at the first photo of your card...Fight Tiny reindeer??? Not what I expected from an animal lover LOL! Then I scrolled down....all is well!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nature photos as always, love that cardinal strutting his stuff!
Have a great week.

Drop dead GORGEOUS Christmas card--oh I love those shaped cards, but have never made one! Thank you for your inspiration! I adore those contrasting doily layers and sweet reindeer! Your poinsettias are just stunning with the rosebud center and dog toy balls. I saw them in a package at Hobby Lobby the other day, and I thought to myself, I'm not going there this year! Those things are a mess and end up sticking to everything! They are looking great on your card, though!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do, and if that means bagging up leaves and using them for a photo shoot, then so be it. Give those landscapers something to do. I'm sure you will be getting snow soon! We had some cooler days, but now back to hot and humid. Sorry for my absence. October is a very busy month to start with, but add into that a new job and back to working at a previous part time job, I'm so busy my head is spinning! Taking a few extra minutes this morning for myself. Sending big, big hugs, and hopefully I'll be back to check out all these amazing posts I've missed!
Holy Moly this is stunning! Love the details and the design... Fab photos too!
ReplyDeleteAha! I can see here on the computer that you are not really fighting tiny reindeer! This card is wonderful and it's so good to see them on a large screen! Take care as the weather gets colder when you are out and about! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI always adore this shaped card, you really excel at them, and this is no exception. Fabulous design and wonderful embellishments, it is so Christmassy. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many gorgeous photos of happy wildlife, just look at all of those shinning eyes as they tuck into your welcome treats.

Stunning Christmas creation Pamellia! Far too long since I've popped in. I miss your gorgeous creations if it's too long between visits. It's been a busy year with the kiddos. Loving seeing your stunning creations and your wildlife photography always leaves me feeling serene and joyful. You take AMAZING images of your lovely local wildlife. Hugs, Wends xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love love love!! Eight tiny reindeer!!!How wonderfully festive and oh so gorgeous!! xpxp
ReplyDeletequestion about Crazy Karen, is it because she is aging for her poor health? I don't seem to remember why?
Hi Jackie, thanks for all your sweet comments today! Karen has been getting injured, but I don't know why. I have a feeling that when the tree trimmers came, they cut off some branches somewhere that is making her jumps from tree to tree very difficult. Her injuries have seemed sort of like tumble and fall type injuries. To the best of of my guessing ability, I believe she is only 2 or 3 years old, that's a drop in the hat for a squirrel since they could live up to 20 years if it weren't for predators.
