Have you ever been playing around with a new product and you get so excited about the results that you actually squeal?? Well that's exactly what I did when messing around with my new Ecoline colours. It was a noise I had not heard before, but hope to hear again! Believe it or not, there are only two colours on this card...but when they mix together you get all sorts of different shades and hues, so amazing!! The colours that is, not the squealing! lol
This card is quite small at 4" x 6" because I made it out of the scrap paper I was testing on. I loved the results so much that I couldn't bear to toss the scraps out!! I cut out the main panel and then had some strips left over, so I made some fishtail banners and layered them up!
I used a Memory Box stencil with some DecoArt Crackle Paste to lay down a pattern. The flowers were cut with Joy Crafts and coloured with distress inks Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass and the ribbon was coloured with the same colours. I decided to keep all the embellishments really pale so the background would be the focus. The splash of black paint spray adds a little contrast to break up the aquas.
SQUEAL!! - doh, there's that noise again!
The frame and the rose embellishments were made using crafter's clay and silicone molds. I covered them with DecoArt Crackle Paint to antique them. The flowers in the frame were stamped with a LaBlanche stamp and coloured with Copic markers.
The tiny butterflies are from a Stampendous Charms set, they were colours with Copic markers. The microbeads are a beautiful mix of aqua and clear. I got them from my sweet friend, the lovely and talented SARA EMILY of sarascloset. They are really sparkly, although it's hard to tell in the photos. Thanks Sara!!
ARE THESE COLOURS GORGEOUS OR WHAT!!! I'm heading back to the art store on Saturday to pick up more colours...Pammie needs to play!! Stay tuned for more messy madness courtesy of Ecoline!

So remember I told you that the white wolf at the zoo was howling at me? My hubby prepped the video for me so I could share it with you. What you catch in the video is only the last time he howled at me, but I had managed to get him to howl several times before hubby got the video camera recording. It was so amazing and people were flocking around to watch as this wolf and I carried on an entire conversation!
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
That was really nice and creative. As for the video, well its interesting to know you talked to a wolf!

I think I just let out a little squeal too, Pamellia. I don't know what Ecoline is, but what you have created with it is stunning...the range of colours by just using 2 basic colours is amazing, but then again whatever you use or try turns out to be amazing. The crackle paste stencilling is so fab, and I LOVE those white flowers and the ribbon with just a 'breath' of colour on them.

ReplyDeletePamellia, I'm pretty sure the squeals you heard were coming from Wilmington, NC!!! No lie, I really squealed when I saw this on Google+. I don't often look there, but I knew right away when I saw this card that it was yours! And yes, I was squealing! I love the colors! And you have done an amazing job of showing them off with the textures, beads (so nice to see you are getting use of them!), sweet little butterflies (LOVE!) and gorgeous, soft flowers. Did you record your squeal? Lol! Love the wolf howling. Such misunderstood and majestic creatures they are.
ReplyDeleteYour experimenting has ended in a fantastical project! Love that everything is muted to make the background totally pop! Amazeballs! If only I could get my hands on a Bubbles original to dissect it, and drool over it. Lmao! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
I definitely think I would have squealed too - the colours are 'to die for' and I just love how you embellished this gorgeous creation!! I don't have any Ecoline but I may just have to investigate them now! Beautiful, beautiful work, as always Pamellia... Hugs, Anne xx

ReplyDeleteYou stash is growing day by day and producing the most amazing creations possible, how I LOVE LOVE your work Pamellia. This is such a pretty colour and texture, you really do know how to get that texture.
ReplyDeleteHow fascinating to get a wolf to respond. My brother gets sheep and cows to respond, does that count LOL.
I promise you Pamellia - I truly believe you can do anything. And this post is proof - you can squeal, howl, spend time with hubby and get him to record howling and create one INCREDIBLE project after another all while keeping up with blogs and life duties! By the way - the wolf had a very sweet and kind reply - I like his voice. Thank you for posting that - I loved seeing it a lot. Now - I got off the important subject... your card. It's sooo lovely. I really like how you went ahead and used the "scrap" paper you were practicing on... and what did you call it fishtailed it - guess I should go back and look... but you know what I mean!! The colors are awesome - looks like fab paints. This post was so fun - THANKS BUNCHES. j.

This looks so vibrant and lush Pamellia, just stunning colours indeed! Love all your other fabby textury elements too. I bought clear micro beads a while back and havn't used, thanku for reminding me for when I eventually get to my craft table. A knockout once again. The Wolf looks lonesome, hope some pals gathered around him, he sounds like the hound of the baskervilles! Have a great week. Nicola x
ReplyDeleteHi, Pamellia! What a great wolfie conversation you enjoyed. Isn't it so humbling when animals respond to us in such sweet ways? Your squeals of delight were heard all the way in Florida - and I can see why! What fun, and such gorgeous colors! the intensity is amazing! Pamaellia, I did read you post, but probably overlooked your directions. Did you apply the texture paste on top of the watercolors, or do you put the paste on first, and then wipe the watercolors off? The texture combination is marvelous! I also like the micro beads for added texture! A beautiful project!
ReplyDeleteLoved your gray and yellow card, and your other botanical creations from earlier this month. Glorious indeed! So pretty.
I am beginning to feel a little better. Still difficult to use my fingers, as my hand-eye coordination is very poor, and the fatigue is exhausting! LOL But I can sit up now for brief periods of time, and enjoy doing some things around the house. I have missed you and your pretty cards very much. love, de
