An exciting day here in my crafty corner of the world, as today I am the Guest Designer for Crafting by Designs. I was thrilled when I received the email from Doris, and even more thrilled when she told me my theme would be SPRING FLOWERS!! Could that be any more perfect!! I do hope everyone will pull out their flower stamps and join me in this wonderful challenge.
Crafting by Designs requires stamping on your project, so I pulled out my favourite flower stamp by LaBlanche and got to work. For the background I decided to try a new technique, so I stamped my flower a bunch of times with VersaMark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I then used my distress sprays Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters and Picked Raspberry to watercolour the entire background, dripping, tilting and splattering as I went. I did the same for three flowers individually and then fussy cut them out.
So I'm addicted to my new GARDENIAS and just had to them again. I actually think they match the stamped flowers really well. I coloured them with Picked Raspberry. The filigree leaves are from Prima, the sentiment is from Penny Black and the fancy die cut frame is from Spellbinders.
I coloured the seam binding with distress ink Shabby Shutters. The daisy and the green roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Everything else is from my stash.
Couldn't you just melt into these colours, I know I could!! Perhaps my new favourite combo?!

ReplyDeleteOh my, Pamellia, you just keep them coming, don't you...little gems of creative perfection. This is so stunning! I agree about your pink and green colour combo...one of my favourites. What is not to love about this card, but 'stand-outs' for me are the lovely loose watercolour effect, and the depth of colour you have achieved. Of course all your embellishments are beautiful, and your pink and white flowers look soooooo real.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your GDT spot (no surprise of course that they invited you), and thank you for your lovely kind comments on my 'Churchyard, and Christmas' cards. I feel so honoured that you pinned my Christmas card.
Big hugs,
Jennifer.

This card is like looking at a beautiful, lush bouquet of flowers. One keeps looking at it and discovering more beautiful, colorful, textured, and differently-shaped components. Despite the piece's bulk, it remains incredibly delicate in apearance. Pure beauty.
