Pion Design - Christmas Ornament Card with Video

Hello Everyone!

Back in the saddle today with my first video in a couple of months. I forgot how much work they are, but also how fun they are when they're done. I had quite a few inquiries about my first Ornament Card, so I thought I would show you how I put one of these together. I have used the gorgeous Pion Design paper collection "The Night Before Christmas".

So here is the video if you care to check it out. I apologize for falling behind in responding to comments, I am still catching up from my time off, but I appreciate each and every kind word!

For my landscape photo today, a shot of the sunshine through one of the only trees around here to turn bright orange so far! This is one of those moments that seemed much more magical in real life.

And out in The Shire today there was all kinds of activity! Miss Cherie, who comes running when she sees me, and makes me smile with her gentle touch!

I could almost hear this girl yelling at me, "I think we both know you're trespassing human, so just drop the peanuts and back away!"

HENRY posing pretty for me as I snapped off a couple of pics.

I had such mixed emotions about catching a glimpse of this juvenile Cooper's Hawk. On one hand, what an amazing creature, so grand! On the other hand, STAY AWAY FROM MY SQUIRRELS!!

BON JOVI discovered a peanut in the grass, the morning dew still evident on her fur!

Baby Blue Jay asks a question, "OK, so do these legs make my butt look fat? I'm so self conscious!"

And back on the home front, PATRICIA is eyeballing me from the tree as usual. Sweet girl!

PETIE is such a sad looking little fellow when he's wet! HA! Poor little guy, waiting ever so patiently for me to fill the food bowl!

Last but not least, my macro for the day. Sick of mushrooms yet? HA!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

  35. Hello Christmas! You've invoked all the old world goodness on this exceptionally gorgeous ornament...a real beauty. I hope that squirrel has stocked up his food for the winter!

  36. Beautiful Macro shot today, Pamellia, and fantastic "landscape" photo - but it is your endearing critters that captivate me so - especially when I glimpse your sweet fingers holding those yummy nuts. So my REAL question is how in the world do you hold your camera single-handedly? My hat is off to you, as my hands shake so much, that sometimes I can't even get a clear shot holding camera with TWO hands! LOL

Gorgeously put together bauble card, P. Exquisite. Snow prettiness and wonderful layers - I will enjoy watching the video tonight and saying in unison with yourself "tah-dah!" at the end! LOL

  37. A most beautiful ornament card Pamellia. Love all the wonderful embellishing. I'm racing now but will pop back later for video. Love the focus on eyes in your shots - that hawk is a beauty!! Nicola x

  44. Oh my, what a stunner of an ornament. Love the old-fashioned look of the Santa with all the lusciousness you've added with the 3D beautiful trimmings. Enjoyed seeing the video with the instructions as to how it was constructed. Also loved the nature pictures, and especially that super vista of the sun coming through the bronze leaves. TFS & Hugs

  45. Fabulous Ornament card Pamellia!! Your video is very cool! Love all the fun shots, even capturing the tiny water drops on bon jovi! I love your mushrooms :)

  46. What a beautiful ornament ... I always enjoy your videos ... Stunning photography once again!

  47. Hi Pamellia!

Your Christmas ornament is sooooooo beautiful! You have created a mini-masterpiece! I love making these around the holiday as gifts for friends and family.

I was just admiring your wildlife photos and saw your Coopers Hawk! You don't come across them at close range all that often. We had a Red Tail Hawk in our garden this past summer. It was beyond awesome to see it close up, though had to take down the bird feeders until it stopped hanging out.

    Hugs to you dear friend,

  48. Oh Pamellia, I'm playing catch up, but your video on your lovely Ornament card was great. Just layers and layers of perfect loveliness. I always love your nature photos too. Kind of reminds me of Beatrix Potters life. There is a movie on her that was awesome. Thank you for always sharing your lovely blog. Have a good weekend.

  49. Ooooooh, Pamellia, I am so glad you filmed the process of creating this absolutely stunning Christmas ornament card! I always love to see how you create your masterpieces! I adore the way how you did the wreath, it looks fantastic! Your poinsettias are super gorgeous with those little roses in the center! Everything is fabulous here, the layers, the dimension, the vintage feel and that frosty look! It's spectacular, my friend!
Ooooooh, thanks so much for another set of absolutely beautiful shots! You know how much I love your wild life photos! That macro one is fantastic!
Sending big hugs to you! Branka xx

  50. A fabulous ornament card Pamellia and a great design. It's wonderful how you've managed to fit so many lovely details onto the card xx

  51. Oh wow wow wow Pamellia this is amazing Hun a gorgeous decoration, your embellies are amazing, I haven't found anything like them here in our stores, fabulous.
    Great pictures too.
    Hugs Julie xxx

  52. Gorgeous card, gorgeous pictures and can't wait to watch your video, thank you for taking the time to share your amazing talent with us all! Deb xo

  53. Pamellia, Your ornie is a stunner and your photos, as usual just delight me to no end! I need this sort of beauty and gentleness in my life right now, it has been a very tough time here in the states as of late-Thank you for your good will dear friend! xo

  54. You know how much I absolutely enjoy your videoes and I am so happy that you are able to make some again. Happy Dance!!! I can't wait to check this out! It looks like it would be lovely on the tree, but not the squirrel tree (they might enjoy eating it). Lol! So many lovely shapes in this ornament design and those papers are so luscious.

Love your furry critter pics as usual. I can't wait to hang some on my wall! Awesome sauce and all of them look happy. Your captions are totes awesome sauce and funny! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc

  55. I never cease to be amazed at your ingenuity and creativity, Pamellia! Your fussy cutting around that wreath is something I covet! LOL I am learning to be more patient, even if it takes me 3 or 4 tries to finish the fussy cutting now. YOU have inspired me to do that. To pursue and press on beyond what I sometimes become frustrated with. Another of your talents that I covet is using the scissors to distress the edges. Sharp edges and fumble fingers are not a good combo, so I am not tempting fate there LOL - LOVING the snowflakes peeking out from behind your ornament layers. The sisal looks amazing under the wreath! All your special touches and TINY little, fragile paper elements and sentiment, make me smile. I wouldn't have thought of using pattern paper like that. Maybe I can do something similar in the future. Yes, I'm wordy but I know you do not mind, especially since it is from my heart. MY favorite portion is the end and seeing the splatters of paint on your dear fingers, my friend. And the Tah-Dah of course! My last comment disappeared, so I'm hoping this one makes it. Will copy and paste to your blog just in case LOL love, de
