This has been one of my favourite summers with regards to the weather. I can't believe how mild it has been, with lots of rain and very few days over 35 degrees! I spend my time walking the trails and sitting on my new garden patio. It's almost finished, so I will post pics when it's finished.

Chickadee-dee-dee-dee.
I don't see many of these wonderful birds in the summer time. I sure do miss their morning songs and sweet personalities!

My first ever Great Blue Heron! I almost squealed when I rounded the end of the lake and there he was! What a gorgeous bird to see up close. Another one to cross off my wish list for this year!

My first time getting to see a Swan busking (raising their wings in the shape of a heart), so amazing! The lady trying to feed him thought it was a sign of friendliness. I didn't have the heart to tell her he was actually in attack mode. Lol.

"Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum. I think we're being watched!"
How excited was I to see my first baby Raccoon!! And what a cutie he was, hiding underneath his Mom's tail, so adorable!

"The sun makes me sooooo seeeeeepy!"
~Baby Kay~

"No, I did not lick the cookie bowl clean! What would make you think that!"
~Petie~

And in the corn cob corner, weighing in at just 400g, we have Teddy the Squirrel! Oooooh, he's going for the difficult full-face technique, scoring a 9.8 from the judges! That's gonna be hard to beat folks!

I would like everyone to meet a new visitor to the Johnson Buffet. This handsome little dude is named Porter and he is so unique with that gorgeous frosted tail! He's very shy, but very brave and I can't wait to get to know him better!

These are the flowers that I decided to plant along the railing. Unfortunately, there's nothing but stems left, as the squirrels love the yummy petals and buds. Oops. I am now in the process of replacing them all with Marigolds, rumours say squirrels won't eat those. We'll see. lol

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Pion Design - Happily Ever After

Hello Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a card featuring Pion Design collections "Patchwork of Life", "Theodore & Bella" and "The Songbird's Secret". These papers are soft and romantic, and would work for an engagement, anniversary or wedding.

I apologize for the photos, they are dark and the colours are off. I must have forgotten to change a setting because they don't do the papers justice at all.

Today I thought I would share some photos from the Twin Valley Zoo trip we took at the end of May. It's a small zoo, which I thoroughly enjoyed because it felt so private and personal. Don't let the small size fool you though, there was a wonderful variety of animals there, even ones the Toronto Zoo doesn't have! We will definitely visit this place again!!

I have a thing about eyes, and the eyes on this Demoiselle Crane had me completely hypnotized! What an amazing bird!

I absolutely love the amazing shimmer on a Peacock's feathers! I could watch these beautiful birds strut around all day!

"Hey lady, you think you're annoyed... I have a big piece of dead grass between my eyes and no way to get it off with these stupid short legs!
~Mr Capybara~

These little guys were the main reason we decided to check out this little Brantford attraction. Baby Ring-tailed Lemurs!! Cuteness overload!! I mean seriously, don't you just want to take one home!! This species is at risk of going extinct in the wild, so this was a once in a lifetime experience! WOW!!

When a rabbit and a kangaroo have a baby! Patagonian Mara. Blam! So freaking cute!

I would like everyone to meet Taylor. She is a baby Starling who has decided that I am a person she can trust. She sits on the chair beside me, eats out of my hand and hangs around in the tree staying cool on hot days. I've never made friends with a baby bird before, what a thrill!!

"What do you mean say something funny? I'm kind of busy being adorable here. I don't have time to be a comedian too!"
~Rusty~

"My Mom warned me about that camera thing. You really DO always have it pointed at me while I'm eating!
~Baby Kay~

"So I sit up here and eat my cookie, and you'll stay down there and take my picture? Fun game! Let's play again!"
~Baby Mickey~

Back in April, my best bud Crazy Karen showed up with some pretty bad injuries on her back, the back of her head and her front leg. She was scared of me, she wouldn't eat out of my hand or even come down off the roof.

I threw food to her, but she losing weight rapidly and I was so scared for her. Nursing 3 little ones, fighting off infection and still trying to forage for food, it was becoming too much for her. Then 3 weeks ago, she disappeared and I feared the worst.

Three days ago she showed up looking all shiny and new! She was hesitant, but I sat on the patio floor with her and just talked to her while she ate. Yesterday she ate from my hand, and today I was able to gently pet her arm for the first time in months.

Oh how I missed her smile and gentle nature. I love you sweet girl. ❤️❤️

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

The weather here has been wonderful this year. We have had tons of rain and the temperatures have been fairly mild compared the normal. The park and trails are green and lush this year, making my walks so much more enjoyable.

Duckling above - Chickadee below

I think my husband would tell you that I actually started dancing when I realized that the flooding at the river allowed this Cormorant to come close enough to shore for me to get a close up shot! What a gorgeous bird, I hope to see him again soon!

"Errrrrrrrr, ok, I know why I'm laying down on the forest floor. What's your excuse!"
~Mr Cottontail~

"Oh my gosh, is that flower for me! It's so beautiful! Now... How do I open it?"
~Princess Tabitha~

"Ahhhh, I know you're trying to fancy up the patio, but is it necessary for me to stare at a frog's butt while I eat!"
~Delilah~

"Silly human. I'm just a baby, I'm supposed to get food all over my face!"
~Baby Mickey ~

"Don't tell my Mom because she says I should eat lots of veggies, but the human has a bag of cashews and I'm wiggling in my fur to try some!"
~Baby Kay~

Thank you to everyone who has stopped in to say hello. I just love logging in and seeing how everyone is doing. I hope to find the time to hop around and say hello back to all of you!!
