It's just been gorgeous weather here in Ontario. Our springtime seems to have arrived a few months early. I'm all ready and set for summer to come to my new home. I hung a bird feeder, set up the patio furniture and pulled out my zoom lens...bring it on! Would it be wrong of me to plug in an electric wine chiller outside?? Hmmmmm.
The last couple of videos I posted were mostly about working with paper, so I really wanted to dive back into some mixed media. I apologize for posting three videos in a row, it just turned out that way on my schedule. I hope you enjoy.

I was so excited see a familiar face among the squirrels yesterday. Since the warm weather hit, most of my little buddies have moved on to greener pastures...even Max. sad face. But guess who came for a visit...CHOCOLATE CHARLIE!! He is gorgeous and so sweet, I've never seen one his colour before!
"She looks harmless enough, although I'm suspect of that big black thing she keeps pointing at me"
"The smell of those peanuts is more than I can handle, I'm gonna chance it"...
"There's room for one more inside my mouth, just one more...mumble mumble mumble"
"OH, YUMMMM, OH MY, so good. Totally worth the risk!!"
what a beautiful card love the colours

First of all Bubbles, never apologize for posting a video! Not even if there are 50 in a row. I totally enjoy learning and your videos are the cats meow, especially for those of us that need all the help we can get for card making. Amen! Secondly- the background paper you have used intrigued me and good info about not heating it. Never heard of it but looks interesting. Fantabulous Spring colors and your layers are always amazeballs! Love the info about the molds as well. I learned the hard way about air dry clay with an altered book I did. It shrunk so bad. I use clay you bake for my designs but have got to try the glue. So informative, the video was! Happy Spring as well and welcome back to Chocolate Charlie. Hilarious narrative! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
ReplyDeleteThis just makes me think spring! Love the colors! Such a beautiful way to add texture to the sentiment...another beauty, Pamellia! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteChocolate Charlie is a real looker; I bet he has lots of squirrely girlfriends, so he may be away for awhile soon. Great shots, and love that morning coffee shot! Wish I were there to enjoy it in person. Love a good hot cup while watching the sunrise. And a--e wine cooler for the porch--genius idea except mine would be a cold half beer. I'm a cheap date!

No apologies for the videos - happy day when there is one!! I have a question, though.... when you show the white acrylic pain and then the little pot, I think you are showing us diluted white paint? But you also use undiluted from the bottle.... so just checking! This is a beautiful card, and I remain amazed at how you combine the delicate stamping with all the layers....and everything else!! So ok, we got you to videos (YAY!!) Now how about some paid ones for online classes with some more detailed explanation for those of use who love your style and for whom it is not intuitive? Not kidding!! And so glad Chocolate Charlie showed up....obviously a very smart squirrel!! xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn. Yes, I use a little diluted white paint in the pot as well as some undiluted paint which I apply with a make-up applicator. I find the diluted paint is better for splattering and the undiluted is better for dabbing. Wow, teaching classes, never really thought about that. Not sure I have anything new to teach, but I sure do appreciate the support!! hugs :)
DeleteSo when I saw another video I grabbed a coffee and sat back ... beautiful work and pure genius! Love your creativity and I love your photos!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAnother mind-blowing creation, Pamellia! Those colours are beyond delicious! xxx

I have just sat down with a mug of steaming coffee and a buttered Hot Cross Bun to watch your latest video, sadly it was over all too soon! I do love watching your videos and you can never make too many as far as I am concerned. At last I know how you attach your microbeads and thank you for the tip about the shrinking clay (a tip I shall be passing on).
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous card Pamellia, lovely fresh colours to welcome spring. I love your decorative stamps, it makes me think that I need to get some more. I just wish I could distress the edges as well as you do, you really rock at it.
Lovely to see Chocolate Charlie, doesn't he/she look well?

Beautiful! Thanks for joining us at Scrapping 4 Fun :)
ReplyDeleteLove love love this card - it is fabulous! The sprinkling of microbeads (as opposed to total coverage)on your chipboard pieces is awesome - wouldn't have thought of that...! I really love that frame and you've probably had it a long time, but could you share the name of it or who makes it, etc.? Using hot glue is a great tip, too. Chocolate Charlie is adorable - such a pretty color! Thank you for your videos because it's so helpful to see the process :-)
