Today I have put together a lavender birthday card card for Pion Design using the Scent of Lavender collection. In my entire life, I think I've made one or two shaped cards, so this was a real switch for me. The inspiration came from a dear friend of mine, Karen of Kaleidoscope Sparkles. I just love her work, she has such a soft, wonderful style! Thanks for the inspiration Karen!

And here is the video, if anyone would care to take a peek. I've included a neat little trick for getting extra layers out of your shaped die sets. Enjoy and thanks for all of your support!

I've shown you a ton of photos from the lake beside the house, but today I thought I would share photos of the neighbouring lake. It's less than an hour walk, so I go as often as I can. These photos are from two previous trips. My latest trip was very drab, as all the flower, grass and leaves are dying now from the drought! SEND ME SOME RAIN!!
A couple of glamour shots...
I usually stop to eat my lunch and sit for a while under these beautiful flowering trees. Looking forward to seeing what grows on them after the flowers are gone.
I have still had no luck identifying this beautiful white flowering shrub and I keep seeing them everywhere right now. I've had a couple of suggestions, but so far I haven't found an exact match. Here are a couple new photos, if anyone knows, shout it out!
I was super excited to see a new group of baby ducks. Daddy duck was keeping a close watch on me.
And back on the home front, my token after dinner shot. Cool right!
In case anyone is wondering if JUNIOR is still hanging about, the answer is yes! He's hanging around on my patio furniture...
He's hanging around on the railings...
And he's hanging around in the tree! Oh good grief, would you look at that!
MR SCRUFF is not amused with the childhood antics!! lol
Love the shaped card, and the delicate colours, so beautiful. Great photos, love those baby ducks. Duck and goose parents can get rather aggressive if you go too near to their babies! Glad you are having fun in your new surroundings and getting out and about so much.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, hugs, Valerie
Colour, texture and beauty, your lovely card has it all Pamellia.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good Sunday.

ReplyDeleteThis little family sure love their 'mum'. How cute. Your card, wow, it's gorgeous, am lost for words so will have a view of your fab video. A real stunner, love this theme and colours are so rich..xx {aNNie}
ReplyDeleteCan share another photo of the white shrub and its leaves? I thought it might be crataegus monogyna but the leaves look different. What area are you in?
ReplyDeleteBack after viewing your video...when I looked/studied your card here I thought how on earth did you do it all, but your video is fabulous and just love how you show in easy ways on how to do things..I love the papers too...thanks Pamellia.xxx {aNNie}
ReplyDeleteThe video was the best one yet. I actually got a lump in my throat it all looked so beautiful and there were ideas I would never have thought of in a lifetime. Thank you for taking the time to show us how your wonders are made.

You have inspired me to try a shaped card next. Hope it turns out half as nice as yours. Loooveee the photos too and I wish I could send you some of our rain .. we have had heaps down here. Thank you for the inspiration. hugs xx
ReplyDeleteYou should make shaped cards more often if they are going to turn out as pretty as this. Love the purple colour palette and all the added elements that make this so feminine and shabby - frame, butterflies, ribbon, flowers.

ReplyDeleteI completely and totally absolutely love this card!! I think it's one of my favourites you've done. I love the colours and the layers and the shape....so gorgeous! And thanks for the tip about the dies too. So simple, yet I've never thought of it....and I've often lamented the fact that I can't use the dies to make layers like that.
ReplyDeleteQuestion for ya....do you plan out your card, and pretty much make it before you do the video and show the process after or do you just have an idea in mind and go for it? Inquiring minds want to know. :-)
Sorry I haven't been commenting lately....just so busy 'round here. I do always look in on your makes and photos though....and they always make me smile. Enjoy your Sunday!
Gorgeous card, I love that you did a shaped one and that's a great tip for extending the dies. I always enjoy watching your videos too.

Beautiful embellishments, the overall effect is just stunning. I loved the video, they are always very entertaining, as well as educational, to watch.
