It's time to start another challenge over at Try it on Tuesday. This time around our theme is "GIFT BAGS OR BOXES". What you make is up to you, as long as we can see a bag or a box. It can be either 3D or images, but the theme should be the focus on your entry. I hope you will join in with us for this fun challenge.
Every year I come up with a new way to decorate my gifts for the family. This year I have decided to decorate little bags with tags to attach to the front of the presents. I have this wonderful package of glassine bags I found while I was packing, so I decided to put them to good use. I hope you enjoy my little Christmas Tag Bags!
BLUE TAG:
Stencils: Crafter's Workshop Art Is and Flurries, Stamps: Tim Holtz Mini Holidays 2, Penny Black sentiment, Tim Holtz snowflake, Artistic Outpost - Midwinter, Inks: Ranger Archival - Cornflower Blue and Jet Black, Distress - Stormy Sky, Other: May Arts Jute string, German glass glitter - silver, DecoArt Snow Writer and Glamour Dust glitter - Crystal.
RED TAG:
Stencils: Memory Box - Adornment, Stamps: BoBunny - Powder Mountain, Penny Black sentiment - Christmas Cheer, Tim Holtz - Distress Damask, Artistic Outpost - Midwinter, Inks: Ranger Archival - Coffee and Olive Green, Distress - Gathered Twigs, Other: seam binding, DecoArt Snow Writer and Glamour Dust glitter - Crystal.
Well it has been getting very cold recently and so my walks have been reduced to a minimum until I can purchase myself some sort of winter coat!! So I've been stuck inside this week, but apparently Mother Nature felt my sadness and sent some nature to keep me company!
This is Rocky. He was hiding away from the cold winds by crawling up in between my patio cushions. I feel bad to have to put the cushions away in the shed, but it's going to snow soon, so Rocky is going to need a back up plan for the rest of the winter. He apparently loves the view as much as I do, can't blame him for that!!
We had our first snowfall of the year on Saturday and although it pretty much melted before it hit the ground, it was an absolute thrill for me!! My hubby and I started our first fire in the fireplace and we were in heaven!! I've never had a fireplace before and I am completely addicted now! When we woke up Sunday morning the sky was just as pink as all get out! Oh what a glorious weekend!
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful tags Pamellia, lovely idea to put them in the little bags.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, how do your dogs cope with the 'visitor'... mine would go bonkers! Her favourite game is chasing squirrels in the woods (don't worry she never catches them, it's just the thrill of the chase, one fell right in front in front of her once...she just stood and looked at it, it shook itself and scarpered up the nearest tree!)

What a great way to use the glassine bags...love that you decorated them as well as your tags! Two lovely snowy scenes, sure to thrill the recipients! Ha...love the pictures of "Rocky". We have a couple of squirrel feeders and have a number of squirrels around...I often say I need to make them little colored collars so I can tell them all apart :)

Awww, would you look at that cute little fur buddy. Rocky is very photogenic! He really thought he'd won the warmth lottery with those cushions too, I bet. The view IS gorgeous from your balcony. Love nature shots and that sunset was lovely.
ReplyDeleteAs for your tags...those are SO cute! Loved that you did a design on the bags too so that you sort of see the design on the tag, but it's still such a surprise when you pull them out and see all the details. You're so crafty and creative. I can only imagine that everything you touch turns to gorgeous!!!
Big hugs and thanks for the spurring the Christmas creativity in me.

Beautiful little bags and tags. A fabulous idea and so creative as always.
ReplyDeleteMar xx
Beautiful tags, Pamellia! I can't decide which is my favorite, but had a good giggle at the Midwinter stamp you used...I tried making my last tag with it, but it just didn't come together for me. It looks amazing on your tags! You've inspired me to try again! I'm loving those Penny Black sentiments, perfect for your gorgeous tags! These are special little gifts unto themselves...someone is going to be very happy to receive them!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the snow and the beautiful morning sky...looks chilly! No winter coat...I should send you mine...doesn't look like I'll need it much, although we did dip into the 30's last few nights, and had our first frost this morning! So pretty, but gone before I could snap a photo! Big hugs! Enjoy that fireplace...wish we had one!
I just love the idea! And adding a gift card would make it a perfect gift! So well thought out, I love the simplicity of these tags as seen through the gorgeous patterns on the bags. The charms and ribbons really complete the look! Perfect for this challenge and gets my wheels rolling. TFS!
ReplyDeleteOh my, these are stunning, Pamellia!! I absolutely love the tags!! The stamps you used are so beautiful!! What a creative use of the bags!! I love it!! You will have the most amazing packages this Christmas!! And oh, Rocky is so sweet!! I used to have a "pet" squirrel in college...he would always come to our dorm window and we fed him nuts :) And what gorgeous photos!! We had a big, fat snow that thankfully melted as soon as it hit the ground. I'm not a fan of the white stuff :) But I do love sitting in front of the fireplace!! Have a great day my friend!! Big hugs :)

LOL he's sorted one or two other things out on both the laptop and the PC for me too so I'm a happy bunny!!

My beautiful friend, your tags and bags are incredibly gorgeous! Everything you touch transforms into pure magic. I love glassine bags and have never seen them done so elegantly. The tags themselves are stunning in design and detailing... right down to the precious charms! My heart flutters to think how stunning the gifts will look with these atop them. You are so talented. :o) And thank you for sharing more sweet pictures! Rocky is precious... don't you just love chomper friends? Have a twinkly night, my sweet friend! It is Thanksgiving here and after a long and busy week (the good kind!), I want to remind you how thankful I am for you... you are such a lovely part of my life. :o)

Ohhhh your squirrel friend is totes adorable and so bushy tailed! Lol. A neighbor has an obstacle course for the squirrels at his house. Very funny to watch those buggers get at it and win. They sure earn their nuts! Now Bubbles, these tags are tagged, bagged and make me glad! Teehee! Hehe! I couldn't resist. The blue is my fave by a smidge. Both are amazeballs! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty tags and the gorgeous bags to hold them ... I'm really enjoying seeing your photos too ... I hope you'll link at OBW in the future!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea to use the vellum so that you get a hint of what's to come. Gorgeous tags - I especially love the frosty woodland (love those trees) and the adorable Artistic Outpost cottage - a winter favourite. Super inspiration, thank you (though I'm doubting I'll have time to play along...)
