Anything But Cute - Summertime Fun with Video

Hello Everyone!

It's time for another mixed media challenge over at Anything But Cute. Anne is our hostess with the mostest this month and she has chosen the theme "SUMMERTIME FUN". More about that in a minute, but first here is my project.

Here is what Anne had to say about her theme. "What does Summertime fun mean to you? Spending time by the seaside, foreign travel, camping in the great outdoors or simply enjoying time in the garden? Create a MIXED MEDIA project focusing on how you like to spend your Summertime. Don't forget to tell us how your project relates to our theme."

I think we all know that my favourite thing to do in the summer is take a walk outside and enjoy all the sunshine, the water, the foliage and the flowers. So for my project, I tried to capture the 'beauty' of nature that I love so much. I suppose the only thing missing from my card is a squirrel!! haha!

Here is the video for you, if you care to take a peeksie. It's a little over exposed, sorry. I am trying to get better lighting in my craft room, so I added another light, but the camera did not adjust well, so it's sort of bright in areas. I'll have it fixed for next time.

***
Well we finally got a spot of rain and it seems to have spruced up the foliage a bit. I love taking photos of the wet world, so today I'm sharing some drippy shots with you. The sun was quick to come back out after the rain stopped, so at least is wasn't dark outside.

Remember all those trees and bushes that had such pretty flowers on them? Well now they are all growing some type of berry / fruit things. Shout em out if you know them folks. And if anyone knows if any of these are edible, please do share.

A couple shots of the lake. One regular and one glamour shot for good measure.

Thank you so much to Sara Emily for identifying my plant as a PETUNIA!
My first real plant by the way, LOVE IT!

A Cardinal - male

This little baby Sparrow has been sitting in the tree eyeballing the bird feeder for a couple of days now. I do hope she works up the courage to come get some food. SO TINY!

So I finally had a taker on my Hummingbird feeder. Just one problem...
NOT A HUMMINGBIRD!!!

Tell me this baby squirrel doesn't look like a stuffed toy!! So cute!

Oh BRENDA, you poor old girl! She has had a rough winter, so everyone send her some love. First she lost half of her tail, then she lost a finger on her right hand, then she injured her left arm!! She's a tough old gal, that's for sure, and she always gets the good food when she comes!

WET JUNIOR, what can I say about that other than... awwwwwwwwww!!!
Tell me this picture doesn't make you want to scoop him up and hug him!

My token morning coffee shot. So many colours in one sky!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Another totally awesome video, so educational and totally relaxing.

As always, lots and lots of amazing photographs. I cannot get over all of those berries, they seem so early. I am no expert but I think our berries do not appear for a month or two.

  33. My dear friend, I am completely smitten with this burst of nature. This challenge is perfect for your (our!) love of all things nature. The color palette is so striking, created in the way that only you can achieve. The flowers have blossomed straight into my heart, especially with those exquisite dew drops. I had forgotten all about that in crafting.. thank you for reminding me of that lovely detail. I adore the combination of magnolias with your ribbon flowers. The butterflies, gorgeous sentiment and frame, not to mention the sweet bits of stencil work combine in the sweetest of sunshiny ways. I look forward to watching your video as I settle in for the night. You are a gift that keeps on giving. :o)

And your pictures! Oh my, they are stunning as ever. I love the wet pictures so much! One of my biggest nature-photography goals is to capture magical frost images. To me, there is the utmost beauty in frost-covered Autumn leaves. I long to capture it as I've seen others do. Your animals and landscape shots are equally beautiful. Thank you, thank you for bringing so much joy into our hearts! Have a beautiful night, Pamellia. :o)

    Hugs and blessings,

Love this amazing card Pamellia and your amazing photos to go with it, sadly our summer so far has been much more of those drippy shots but looks like we might get a few warm days this week. 49. Your card is a delightful burst of summer Pamellia - much needed in wet and windy Wales. You've created a gorgeous rainbow with the vibrant colours. It's only when you look closer you see all the fabulous textures and details that bring everything together so wonderfully.
I've missed your beautiful cards and wildlife photos while I've been absent and have spent an enjoyable evening scrolling through your blog and watching your videos. I'm so pleased that all the adorable squirrels are still up to their cute tricks. Thank you for making the world that much nicer with your sharing xx

  50. I enjoyed Anne's seaside project (she's awesome!) and then I loved your summer flowers. Such dimension and detail...even down to the tiny dewdrops. It's just pure happiness to see these lovely flowers. Always enjoy your superb photography, and isn't that cardinal just splendid? We are fortunate to see these handsome creatures at our feeder - and while very pretty - they can be quite mean to the smaller birds. But they are still my favorite. DH just told me we have a bluebird family nesting in a birdhouse that is on our front porch (purely decorative, and the paint is peeling, and I was going to toss it. He's been sitting in the swing in the early hours, and had noticed the parents flying in & out of it). TFS & Have a super weekend. (your sky photos are particularly awesome too).

I managed to look at your video, fabulous, thank you so much!!!!! It looks so easy when we watch you in your creative process... but I guess that such exquisite card would take much more time to do it than you haha. I will try however, I will take the time to see more of your videos, they are really fantastic and well done, thank you!
Loving also your beautiful photographs, and the squirels are so cute teehee! :))
