Well Christmas in July continues, even though we are reaching temps of 120 degrees here in Southern Ontario. Crank up the AC and hide in your craft room, I say!! Today I have a vintage style card using some products from Canvas Corp Brands.
From Canvas Home Basics I have used papers Blue & Ivory Dot Reverse and Cardstock Paper - Ivory 80#. From Tattered Angels I have used the Naturally Aged Kit - Granite Precious Stone Faux Finish Paint Kit, High Impact Paint - White, and Baseboard Mist Paint - Ivory.
The vintage Santa image I printed last year, I think it was from The Graphic's Fairy. The frame is made from hot glue. The doily die is Spellbinders Persian Motifs, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the foliage die is from Die-namics, the lace is May Arts and everything else is from my stash.

To continue with our trip to the Riverwood Conservancy, this is what we saw after our hike down the big hill. It was totally worth having to climb back up that massive bugger, to get to sit by the rapids.
Still working on my 'creamy water' technique. With no tripod or remote control, it was pretty tricky balancing on the rocks, to get this shot. I think it turned out pretty cool.
You can see here how the drought is effecting the landscape. You shouldn't be able to walk here, it's supposed to be filled with water!
And back on the home front, our baby Sparrow is back up in the tree. She spends a lot of time there staring at the feeder. Come on girl, you can do it!!
This Grackle has decided that the peanuts in the squirrel bowl are much yummier than the what's in the bird feeder!
Got a good shot of TAYLOR, so you can see her very unique two toned tail. What a gorgeous girl!
PATRICIA is playing Peek-a-boo again! Hilarious!
Oh MR SKITTLES, how cute are you!
Big surprise, JUNIOR is having a nap. I swear, he is the laziest squirrel I have ever seen! LOL
My token morning coffee shot...
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
Wow Pamellia! I totally love this Vintage Saint creation with full of luscious layers and the embellishments you have added, made it more pretty! And what a glorious array of nature pics here full of real beauty! Enjoyed a lot!

ReplyDeleteAnother stunning and inspiration card. I love that there is the traditional in amongst your wonderful ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so lush and green where you go for walks and the birds and animals are happy to share their time with you as well. Feels like heaven to me....as they say in the song.
Love Chrissie xx
The Father Christmas image is beautiful and you have surrounded him with such gorgeous layers - I love the book print leaf and paper cones are so beautiful and I always love your 'glue' frames!
ReplyDeleteI think the creamy water looks brilliant, such a shame about the drought though but I guess it would happen in that temperature!
I always wait for pictures of Junior and he never disappoints - he clearly sees your home as his own! Taylor's tail is definitely different! I hope the baby Sparrow plucks up the courage.... Keep cool and have a great weekend. Hugs, Anne xx
Wow that is one amazing card Pamellia. Love all your layers and die cuts and flowers.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine the heat you are enduring... we think it is excessive if we get to 30 oC in summer!! That's 40 oC and more!! Sitting by the rapids would be so soothing and worth the effort.
Love your squirrel photos as ever - that junior is quite the character!!
Blessings
Maxine

Not entering your blog candy as the import duties to the Uk are very unfair and really a rip off from a postal services.
But thank you for your generosity, and congrats on your blog achievement.

Stunning design Pamellia, I love your use of book pages, it gives the design a very different look, and a wonderful contrast to the lace. Making Christmas cards in 120 degrees must see rather surreal.
ReplyDeleteI do not think I can image it being that hot. It is a beautiful day here, not too hot but sunny with a bit of a breeze.
Keep cool my friend.
Dionne xx
STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS, love the Santa image and the "newspaper" printed floliage, it is such a "cool" card in every way, I love it.
ReplyDeleteAs for your temperatures WOW! we had 2 days in the high 80's and we were glad when it dropped to the high seventies with rain to cool us off, don't know how I would take those temperatures without air conditioning. although I did when we lived in Saudi, but I was a LOT younger then LOL.
Your squirrels are a delight and so are your country and river scenes and your morning shot.
Faith
