Back with another Christmas in July card featuring products from Recollections that are available at Michael's Craft Stores. For those of you who follow my Facebook timeline, you have already heard my amazing news about being asked to work with some of the products that Michaels carries. I just love the wide range of products they have, so watch out for lots more projects starring Recollections products and much much more.
For this card I have used papers from the Fashionably Chic paper collection as well as a Recollections wooden Christmas Ornament embellishment and some bits of lace.
The holly flourish is from Cheery Lynn, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the twine is from May Arts. I used the DecoArt Snow Writer and then covered it with Flower Soft in white to create the look of soft fluffy snow.

Just a few shots from around the lake. I'm having a hard time finding areas to aim my camera now without having shots of all the dead grass. Lots of closeups of ducks and flowers instead. If anyone has time to do a rain dance for me, I sure would appreciate it! lol
One of my favourite things to do, is sit with my bag of food and watch as the geese and ducks make their way across the lake to get their treats!
and then off they go, back to the open water...
Still the odd Swamp Rose here and there.
Not sure what this is...
Here is what I know about these Burrs...
1. They stick to everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!
2. They're ugly all year round!
3. When the world comes to an end, the only things left alive will be the cockroaches and THESE BURRS!
Back on the home front we have a Black-Capped Chickadee out my bird watching window.
And another NOT-Hummingbird eyeballing the Hummingbird feeder!! This is a young Red-Winged Blackbird.
I would like to introduce you to a couple of newbies on the patio. This is MR. BAGGINS. I called him that because he has these brown bags around his eyes that make him look a little bit like a Hobbit. He makes the funniest faces, so hilarious to watch!
This is PATRICIA. She is very camera shy, so most of my shots of her are taken through the window. Her name doesn't hold any meaning except that my hubby felt left out that he never gets to name them. lol
SKITTLES says hello from the carpet, where he is eyeballing me to make sure I stay a safe distance away.
Last but not least. JUNIOR has decided he doesn't even have the energy to sit up while he eats!
OH for crying out load JUNIOR!!!
My token morning coffee shot...
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

Congratulations on your fabulous news Pamellia, both are lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful layered card with gorgeous layers and textures.. more wonderful photos too.

Gorgeous layers & interesting to see that your F/Soft stuck well to the snow writer (I'll have to try that with my failing F/Soft techiques! Also got a suggestion to try the clear PVC glue as well). Your technique really did resemble snow so nicely, and looks great with the wooden ornament. We have Mike's locally, so I do have quite a stash of Recollection supplies. COngrats on being on the new DT's. Always enjoy your splendid photos. It still looks lovely with the cool green by the pond. Had to smile over the cockroach comment. I think they were prehistoric too! Have a wonderful week,& TFS. (we have the Carolina Chickadee, which looks a bit less white than this little fella does).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your fantastic news, both teams are lucky to have you with them. A gorgeous card today and super photos. Junior does make me smile, what a way to eat, he must feel very safe on your balcony.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx

Hi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteMega congrats on the Michaels and DT gigs! Bravo and well deserved!
Superb card and embellished beautifully as always.
Flower looks a bit like Cow Parsley and does Junior actually leave your balcony lol
Now, speaking as a Duck, bread is not good for our digestion Mrs J. It also causes problems with water quality (causes algae growth and bacteria) so in the UK, were told not to use bread. Defrosted frozen peas and or sweet corn, porridge oats and would you believe lettuce are the recommended treats for our floating feathered friends.
Sorry if that sounded like a lecture......wasn't meant to be but I know you like to do right by your wildlife chums.
Best wishes.
Ang x
Hey Ang. Thanks for the info. I actually don't feed the ducks just bread, it's just easier to write that in the post, than to say "my bag of bread, bird seed, grapes, oats, carrots, cabbage and whatever leftover vegetables there were from last night". lol I do add a little bread into the bag but I think the good stuff outweighs the carbs. If I only someone would regulate my junk food intake, I'd be a happy camper! lol
DeleteHi Pamellia
DeleteSorry, I shouldn't have just assumed. I should have known you would have been doing right by the birdies.
I use shelled nuts too for the squirrels and meant you'd be peeling the thin skins off the nuts for Master Junior.......sort of the squirrel equivalent of peeling a grape lol!
Sorry again.
Ang x
How exciting! I just knew something was up with Michaels quite a while back--not just from what I've caught up with today, and I couldn't be more thrilled for you on that bit of good news or for your new DT position. I will need to get over and check them out! Well done and well deserved, and couldn't have happened to a sweeter young lady!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite card of the Christmas one's I've seen today. Love the neutral color palette with the unexpected pops of silver and pearl! Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS! You better save this one for me! Ha! Ha!
Junior slays me! I thought of you on one of my many trips up the hill (steep; makes your heart feel like it's coming out of it's God appointed position) on our trip to Capon. three chipmunks ran across the lane, one up a bank and two down the bank. Something made them both come running out of their cover and back across the road at the same time, and they ran smack dab face to face into one another, and three chipmunks caught some serious air! Hysterical, but probably didn't feel good to them! Your coffee shot is lovely! Many big hugs to you!
