A little round up about the weather, as is happened here on Saturday. My little Maltese Scully likes to breath on the patio door and then lick the fog off...seriously, like a little kid! Well all I heard was a squeal and then I saw the blood! She had stuck her tongue on that frozen glass and I think we all know what happened then! She's fine. Honestly, I think I was more upset than she was!! I have blocked the door now, but that's just how cold it is here! HELLLOOOOO!! Thank goodness for flannel pajamas and wine!
Well, it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More! This time around our lovely hostess Leslie has chosen the theme STRIPES. Here is my shabby make. UPDATE: It's actually challenge #133, but unfortunately, I can't change the title now.
The frame is from Recollections. It was stamped with Ranger Archival ink Jet Black and coloured with Copic markers, I fussy cut it out and popped it up on pop dots. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft. The flowers were cut with Joy Crafts Flower 4 and coloured with Hero Arts Tide Pool and Tim Holtz Scattered Straw.
For the background I used a home made stencil to added alternating stripes with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw and Hero Arts Tide Pool. I stamped some flourishes from Inkadinkado, then I used some homemade texture paste and a Crafter's Workshop stencil to add a subtle flower design on top of the stripes.
The kraft leaves are from Tim Holtz Garden Greens and the filigree leaves are from La-la land. The gorgeous hearts were made using crafter's clay and a Wilton mold. The doily is from Cheery Lynn and the flower bursts are the Large Chloe die from Memory Box.
The tags were cut from Tim Holtz Tiny Tabs and Tag. One was spritzed with watered down DecoArt White paint that I made into a spray, the other was stamped with Tide Pool and a background damask stamp and then edged with Gathered Twigs.
I am entering the following wonderful challenges:

OMG Pamellia!!! This is one of my favorite cards of yours!!! Love that fussy cut frame and the way you colored it! The entire arrangement and layering is stunning in lack of a better word to describe this crafting gem! The stripes are gorgeous, those colors just melt my heart! Speaking of heart...Those to mold hearts are gorgeous! Love that shabby look to them! All in all on scale from 1 to 10 I give you solid 29! Have a great day my friend, and you might want to check with blogger why your posts are not showing...this one isn't there either...
ReplyDeleteSometimes Blogger is slow. I quite often don't see people's thumbnails on my list until hours after they actually posted it. You're right about one thing, my post is NOT on the list yet!! Silly Blogger! hugs :)
DeleteSo beautiful! I really like that subtle white texture paste over the stripes. I'm turning my phone this way and that to see which stencil you used:-)) The hearts are stunning! I love this one! Your poor little dog! I'll have to look up the temperature in Toronto. We need Spring!

ReplyDeleteIncredible the variation in depth of color that you retained from the base to the top and enriched it as it came up....it's a gorgeous creation with so much vitality and life happening here. It's like you completely shed the cold air and absorbed the warmth of Spring. LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteYikes your poor little dog! I guess she'll think twice before doing that again!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty happy card and I love the white coating ... Stay warm!
Beautiful! Glad to see that your little doggy is doing fine.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Pamellia, love the design. Marlene
ReplyDeleteThe end result is fabulous. I always love it when I get to see a partially completed project of yours and then I can see later how it evolved to shabby loveliness. This is a great colour palatte and you have added some sweet embellishments. Now I often proclaim that I don't do stripes but usually I am meaning black and white as in I could easily do something inappropriate when someone is making me nuts but stripes like this would be fun. Feeling sad about Scully but glad that she is going to be OK.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Hi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteYikes! Poor Scully! Jeepers, that door must've been cold if she was on the inside, poor mite.
Love your stripey masterpiece. Embellished perfectly as usual and pretty as a picture.
Hope its warmed up a bit for you.
Ang x
Ouch! I was just talking with my dear hubby about the dire warnings we received as children growing up in Vermont not to touch our tongues to metal...and of course someone always did. Poor pup! Now, on to the card...it's scrumptious! Of course you have a homemade stencil that produces perfect diagonal stripes! LOL That background is wondrous...and at first I thought you had used an embossing folder...but the texture paste is a divine option. Your ability to cluster elements together to create dimension, depth and visual interest is unsurpassed! And I love the one small butterfly that has escaped the maze to fly free in the open sky! It's a wonderful piece and evokes such feelings of joy and freedom. That's true art...when a piece not only looks pretty but creates an emotional response in the viewer. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh! poor little dog, he must have been in agony, at least the tongue heals quite quickly. I have been to the beach this morning and it was blowing hard and very cold, but certainly not THAT cold.
ReplyDeleteNow your card, it is so scrumptiously beautiful, in fact, I think, I am now understanding what you do to get all these effects. Just so very very beautiful.
Love the stripey background, fresh but still in your vintage style! OH poor Scully, glad he's recovering and glad you've blocked the way because dogs do not learn do they?! Makes me feel cold thinking about it...Brr... Warm hugs Ruth x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card just oozing with wonderful details. I like the stripes, the layers and the frame with the sentiment.
ReplyDeletePoor little Scully. My daughter stuck her tongue to the freezer when young. She went looking for an ice lolly and with there being none left she decided to try the ice instead....what a fright and a trip to A and E. Luckily all was ok. Gorgeous card as always with a nice colour mix.
ReplyDeleteJulie x
Beautiful creation Pamellia, love the colour of those stripes and the wonderful design a truly wonderful make.

I don't know what planet I was on when you posted this, but I completely missed out on this beauty! so sorry! but Nikki has saved the day, and shouted out, so I was given a second chance to get to visit this gorgeous card. Pamellia, I am simply out of words to describe how impressed I am with all the wonderful details you have packed into this one single card! I am always amazed that you make your own stencils, and I would have never guessed the stripes were done with a stencil! I love how you've stenciled over the stenciling. Your flowers are as sweet as ever, and your hearts are perfect. Still wondering how you do this so well! And that little butterfly is my favorite! Another favorite of mine is that Memory Box flower burst--must get my hands on that die! Another fabulous creation my creative friend! Hugs!
