First of all, I would like to say Thank You to everyone who Liked my page on Facebook, you are such wonderful bloggy friends. Also, no worries if you don't use Facebook, I will still be posting all my projects here on my blog.
For today's card, I was really just messing around with a couple new techniques, so I thought I would take the opportunity to make something for some challenges. I decided to go super shabby, haven't done that for a while. Just as a side note, I would like to say brrrrrrrrr, it's freaking cold up here in Cananda!!!
Nothing new here, some shabby roses made from a Joy Crafts Flower die. I coloured them using Hero Arts shadow ink Soft Sand and Tim Holtz distress ink Victorian Velvet.
In keeping with my New Year's resolution, I pulled out this never-before-used scallop border die from Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders set and adorned it with some lace and pearls.
The doily is from Crafty Ann, the sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and the butterflies were stamped with Ranger Coffee ink and the Tim Holtz French Flight set. I coloured them with Copic markers. The filigree leaves are La-la land and the flourish is from Marianne Designs.
I was going for a vintage wallpaper look on the top panel, so there was a lot of dripping and splattering going on. The pink pattern was stamped with an Impression Obsession Damask stamp and the coffee stain is a Bobunny stamp. The corner piece was made with crafter's clay and a mold.
I decided to try a new wood panel background. I was going for that old panelling from the 70's, but it didn't really turn out quite right. Oh well, still looks like wood. Ingredients include DecoArt paints and Ranger distress inks.
So here is my other new technique, the big silver rose. Pretty easy, just some Brushed Pewter paint, Rock Candy crackle paint and some micro-beads. Hopefully you can zoom in and have a good looksie.
I am entering the following wonderful challenges:
( I chose LACE-FLOWERS-VINTAGE but I also hit PEARLS-VINTAGE-RIBBON)
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
This is absolutely gorgeous!! Sending warm hugs your way my friend!
ReplyDeleteA stunning creation Pamellia, your silver rose is gorgeous and your shabby chic design is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm my friend.

Another gorgeous card. I love your shabby silver rose. A fabulous layout.
ReplyDeleteYour jff card is gorgeous. I love all the shabbiness. The flowers are all wonderful, especially your silver rose. Also love all the little bits tucked here and there - lace, butterfly, pearls, ribbon. I wish I didn't have to go out in this freaking cold today but I do and worst of all I have to wear a hat because it is so cold - I look awful in a hat but sure don't want my brain to freeze:)
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Cec
Oh man, I feel for you! I have to run some errands tomorrow morning...any chance of a Chinook overnight?? HAHA. Thanks Cec, big hugs :)
DeleteA Chinook here - now that would be wonderful but no such luck.
DeleteOh and BTW, what happened to your Pinterest bit on your sidebar? I loved going there to see what glorious things you have pinned and ooh and aah at some of your older work. Now I can't just click, I have to go to Pinterest to find your boards and I am getting too old for all that work - LOL.
DeleteI can see it right now. Sometimes you just have to refresh the page.
DeleteWhat a beautiful card Pamellia! Love all the pretty stamped panels, flowers, pearls, that silver rose and micro beads on it! I always look forward to your new work, and good thing that I just typed in your webaddress in my browser, cause you don't show up in blogger buzz due to being .com (you fancy girl) Thank you for still posting here otherwise I wouldn't be able to see you work...I am glad you are having success with your Facebook page, I did not have any doubts about it!! Anyways it is soo good to see your work and to put on my CCCB DT hat now: Thank you for joining us at CCCB this week :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day and stay warm :)
Holy crap, I'm not on the blogger buzz any more??? To heck with being fancy, I'm going back to blogspot! Thanks for letting me know Samra and thanks for the wonderful comment! hugs :)
DeleteI think I'm still there, at least that is what I'm being told...can you double check for me if you have time Samra. Thanks, hugs :)
DeleteHi Pamellia, your post showed up in blogger feed like 15 minutes after I already commented. I don't know if you scheduled it to publish later than your .com version, but it was not there when I went over to your site. I think the same thing happened with your Try it on Tuesday post. So I am not sure why the blog version is posting late...you might want to check on that...
DeleteFabulous Pam, super shabby = super!!! Love the new technique and of course the wonderful wood panels. And the flowers and... I could go on. England not too cold today - don't get me wrong it isnt warm but sounds like you have a really cold one ! Nikki xxx

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteHi Pamellia,
ReplyDeleteYou think YOUR freaking cold! I'm so cold I can hardly type! What happened to the heat???? Anywho, I stopped by to see, if perchance, you had a faux wood tutorial on your blog, and what do I see but another wooden background, EXACTLY what I was looking for! Having lived with that horrible wood paneling in the 70's, I have to say yours is far better on your lovely card, even beautiful!! Would love any hints you can provide for this:):)! I love your silver rose and the other delicate one's, too! In fact, one of the small white ones looks like it's made from frosting! Yum! The coffee stain is so clever, echoing the circular die cut and the curve of the" wallpaper" border. Such a beautiful creation. Biskit is snoring, so I guess that means it's time for bed. Stay warm, my friend! Big hugs!
Hi Sara! Thanks so much for your wonderful comment. I haven't gotten around to making a tutorial for the wood planks yet, but it is on my to-do list. big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteAlison xx
A super shabby creation !
ReplyDeleteHi Pamellia: I haven't been on my blog in over a week, so lots to see on yours! (this card and the previous tic, tac, toe one). Seriously, one of your cards would take me a week to produce if I had the talent. Every item on your card needs a second look to take in all your attention to details, such as the microbeads and crackle on the pewter rose, a bit of lace tucked here, or greenery there, or pearls. Wish you could come to NS to do a class. I know Marilyn and I would be there in a flash! Stamping Hugs, Sharon
