I hope you are all staying warm this winter. The weather here has been crazy all over the place. We get a big dumping of snow, but then it rains for a few days and it all melts away...then another dumping, then some rain. Heater on, heater off. Hellooooooo, and then I'm surprised when I come down with a nasty case of the well known 'icky-stay-in-bed-and-sleep-all-day' disease! DOH!
On with the show. Glad to be here today as a Guest Designer for the wonderful challenge blog Scrapping4fun! The challenge for the next two weeks is ANYTHING GOES. It's always such an honour to craft along side this talented team, do hop over and see what gorgeous creations they came up with.
I decided to make another project featuring some new goodies from Canvas Corp. I am having so much fun playing with their products, I wanna make a hundred cards right now, just so I can try everything! I know what you're thinking..."more blue?", but these blues are just too delicious to pass over. Yummy blue papers and shimmery blue mists...can't go wrong with that!

The leaves and the snowflake dies are both from Cheery Lynn, the sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado, the frame was made with hot glue and a Martha Stewart mold, the glittery embellishments were made with hot glue and course glitter.
A very special thank you to my dear friend Sanderijn of Live Laugh Love, who sent me the gorgeous flower, as well as the paper straws peeking out from under the snowflake. She is a very talented lady and I find such inspiration in her work. I have just loved getting to know her, and I highly recommend you pop on over and get to know her a bit too! Thanks so much Sanderijn, you have a heart of gold!

These pictures were taken a few days ago, between snow storms, when it was wet and drizzly outside. There's just no telling what it may look like out there tomorrow! Another crack-of-dawn walk for me, I've decided that it's my favourite time of the day to go out, nobody awake yet, not even the Bob the Spaz!!
So here is the lawn where the grass should be...SCRATCH THAT...here is the lawn where the freaking snow should be!!!
Today I'm introducing you to Max. He's my absolute favourite because he was my first buddy. He visits a couple times a day and eats out of my hand no problem. He will even crawl up onto my knee if I sit perfectly still.
After he takes his peanut, he sniffs out my entire hand and then turns my hand over to check the backside as well (just to be sure he hasn't missed anything) before he sits down to eat. So funny to watch, but impossible to take a picture of. I mean look at that face, who can resist that!!
Before I go, I just want to send out apologies for not being around to everyone's blogs as often as I usually am. I've been having some serious issues with the verification system on Blogger, that's making commenting next to impossible. I have to jump through hoops, including a visual test involving matching up a word prompt with teeny tiny photos that I can barely see and have no way to zoom in on. And if it's a foreign blog, then I have to pull out my crystal ball to try and figure it out, because there's no translate button either!! AND...if you try and persevere, it just gets worse, after a while, they make you go through two visual tests, demanding that further verification is required. WHAT!!!!! How many times per comment do I have to prove that I'm not a freaking robot. It's ridiculous, really.
ANYWAY...I'm trying to work out the problem and hope to get back to my normal schedule very soon, so bear with me folks. And if anyone has had this problem and solved it, PLEASE let me know, I'm begging you, please, put me out my misery here! lol
ANYWAY...I'm trying to work out the problem and hope to get back to my normal schedule very soon, so bear with me folks. And if anyone has had this problem and solved it, PLEASE let me know, I'm begging you, please, put me out my misery here! lol
Gorgeous piece. I love all the details you included. And I'm with you- crack of dawn is a lovely time to walk!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Pamellia, this is jaw-dropping gorgeous! Oh wow!! I will never get tired of the blues!! The texture is spectacular!! I love the layers and the details you added!! I could seriously stare at your project all day and still not see all of the amazing layers and details!! It's absolutely stunning!! Congratulations on your guest design position!! They are so lucky to have you!!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so beautiful!! Max could not be cuter!! Is he all black?? I've not seen a black squirrel before so he's just the cutest critter!! I, too, have the same issues with blogger and it's a pain. It's two extra steps on top of commenting and it's taking me so much longer each day. For the foreign blogs, I have to google a translator program to figure out what they want me to click on in the pictures. It's a huge pain. I sincerely hope they end this soon or I don't know if I will be able to keep up. What a headache.
I hope you are feeling much, much better my sweet friend!! Thinking of you!! Have a great evening!! Big hugs :)
Lisa
A Mermaid's Crafts
Hi Lisa. Yes, Max is a Black Squirrel, although he has some brown fur in him, makes him easier to spot when he's in the tree. Some of them have a bit of grey hair too. They are just the sweetest things!! Sorry to hear you're having the same problem with Google, such a pain! If I figure out how to make it go away, I will let you know. Thanks for the sweet comment. hugs :)
DeleteSo pretty Pamellia! Love all the layers, shimmer and shine! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Pamellia, I could feel the wintery blues! It amazes me as how many cards you would have made till date...any count on that???? I get the gitters to do even one! Its a feast to see your work. Hugs from here.
ReplyDeleteHi Rupa. I've had about 220 posts, so there's an approximate number. Doesn't include Christmas cards or the work I do for the magazine. oh boy! Thanks for dropping in my friend.
DeleteWhat a fabulous post! First of all, I'm just thinking "Wow, she's done it again, another amazing piece of art." I have no problem with the blue as it looks so pretty. There are so many layers and so much detail that I have to look at your projects for ages just to take everything in and this is no exception, absolute perfection. I'm sorry to hear that you've been ill too, I guess it's that time of year and as you've mentioned, the weather is just all over the place so that doesn't help. The pictures of the squirrel are incredible, I've never seen one so tame and what an unusual colour. I think we need to rename you the squirrel whisperer :). Thank you so much for the very generous and kind comments that you've left on my blog, they are so very much appreciated. Keep up the good work and I will look forward to seeing your next wonderful, exquisite creation X X
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have been unwell...wondered where you were...♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project and the most gorgeous colours and all the added goodies. Even the crackle looks fabulous. Your photos are again fabulous. hugs... {aNNie}
Back again to thank yu so much for sharing this beautiful project at our BRRR challenge, hugs, Double D Challenges{DT aNNie}
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I don't know about everyone else but I'll never get tired of seeing blue. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter art, so sparkly and wintry and pretty. Sorry you are having issues with Blogger, I have had that from time to time, too, and it is frustrating. Love the photos, being up early is always a good time for photos. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww! Your squirrel friends are too freakin adorable! So funny how they turn your hand over. Raccoons do that a lot as well, but they're little buggers that get into everything in the house! Anywho-gorgeous and brrrrrreautiful card you have designed here. That straw adds such perfect and wonderful interest and texture! Amazeballs! I do so enjoy seeing you have fun wih your new digs at CCB. Marvelous lot of goodies you have used. The TA mists are fun! Love the placement of the gems as well.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you are having blogger problems as well Bubbles. I haven't had the issue you are speaking of. Just other issues. Hopefully someone can help because it sounds horrible. I also hope you are feeling better! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
Pamellia this is beautiful - love all the layers and details.
ReplyDeleteYour photographs are stunning - I love dawn too, but must admit I don't often see it these days :-) Max is gorgeous!!!!
Blessings
Maxine
Another stunner Pamellia, so many gorgeous layers and embellishments to see and enjoy! Stay warm and dry and say hi to Max from me, he's a cutie! Hope you are feeling better soon, sending some virtual chicken soup :O) Deb xo P.S the same thing happened to me on Blogger the other day Pamellia, it seems to happen if you comment on many blogs in a row. Not sure what the cut off number is before they think you are a spammer, but it doesn't appear to be very high. Hope that helps?!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!...so very pretty Pamellia..snowflakes,flowers,gems little straws, thick layers and textures...all so beautiful..and your little Squirrel is so adorable..dark isn't he with his fluffed up tail..very cute.Hope your commenting problem is sorted out..I can usually only comment with pop up comment boxes..yours is okay but there are so many I cant leave some luv..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx

Pamellia, even in the rain and snow, you are still my inspiring ray of sunshine! :o) This post is filled with all things beautiful. Congratulations on your Guest Designer position.. they must be tickled pink (or blue?) to have you! You could post blue creations 300 days this year and we would not be tired of it. :o) Your layers are stunning, filled with whimsy and wonder. I love the combination of elements (yay for straws and clothespins!) and abundance of sweet detailing. The homemade frame atop the snowflake is mesmerizing. Gorgeous as always, my beautiful friend!
ReplyDeleteAs for Max... I am beyond jealous that you get to be best friends with him! I adore my squirrel friends, but it's more one-sided, really. ;) Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Always know how much you mean to so many. :o) Have a sparkly day, Pamellia! Sending happy and healthy prayers your way. :o)
Hugs and blessings,
Karen
Really beautiful creation Pamellia. I am always in awe of how you layer elements to create the most gorgeous cards. And I am loving your pictures. Sure is wet there ... here too, tonight especially. I have really missed the snow this year ... there was only one snowfall a few months back with just a skim of white and it was quickly gone. Disappointing.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your blogger issues. I really don't know anything about it, so can't offer any advice, but I do have advice on blogs that are non-English and don't have a translate button. At the top of a blog you will see two menus "More" and "Next Blog". Right click on the More work and a drop-down menu will appear that has the option of "Translate to English". Hope that helps. xx
Thanks so much Loll. Unfortunately that translate button doesn't work for the verification pop up window, only for the main blog. They really didn't think the design through very well when they pasted it up there! Goofy Blogger! Anyway, thanks for trying, and thanks for your kind words! hugs :)
DeleteAWESOME..yes this blue is really delicious ! Loved the layers and the addition of black !
ReplyDeleteI love blue Pamellia and this one is such a gorgeous shade. What a beautiful card....so much to see and drool over as always. Sorry to her you have been ill there is so much around at this time of the year and the odd weather doesn't help. Your furry friend is so cute, he's such a pretty dark colour, all our squirrels are grey here. Your commenting sounds a nightmare...I hope you sort it. Enjoy the weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThese Blogger issues are a real pain in the rear Pamellia, they started for me and a good few others before Christmas and seem totally intermittent, some days no problems and others they kick in the minute you start to comment. I often get the impression we are being driven out.
ReplyDeleteAs for todays artwork, as glorious as ever and loving the frosty hues of colour.
Well done on the progress with Sam the Squibble (youngest Granddaughters name for those in our garden), takes time and patience to get them to trust you.

A beautiful, wintry layered piece Pamellia, with all your special touches, - Gorgeous! I hope you can sort your blogger problems, sounds like a night mare, - very strange. I sometimes am unable to leave comments, the comment box just stays blank. I can usually sort it by restarting my computer, - this sounds different though, and way worse, blogger can be such a pain at times....
ReplyDeleteYou use the colour blue deliciously Pamellia and this piece is no exception, love it.
ReplyDeleteI use Wordpress so can't help with the blogger issues, so sorry but I hope it sorts itself out soon.
Warm crafty hugs from Shirl x x x

A stunning ‘icy’ creation, Pamellia! Perfect for the weather we have just had here in the UK!! Love your fab piccies of Max, what a gorgeous dark coat he has! Have a lovely weekend! xxx
ReplyDeleteOooooooo yum! Another glorious card xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Pamellia, i like the addition of the clothes pin and how you did the sentiment banner. Very beautiful, hugs Veerle ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful creation Pamellia. The frosty blues are perfect for this time of year and the black is a wonderful contrast. Your layers are so full of interest and detail. I especially love the frame, straws, lace and glue drop sparkles.
ReplyDeleteMax is just adorable! What a darling little character. BTW My brother uses shelled sunflower seeds for his little robin friend.
I just ignore the Robot thing and go straight to Publish, most times it works. It's such a nuisance though.
Congratulations on your GDT and I hope you're soon back on your feet xx
Hi Andree. Right, and that's what I used to do, but now the oddball thing of it is, when I press publish button, that's when the problems begin. grrrr. Thanks for dropping in and for your sweet comment. hugs :)
DeleteLovely creation, Pamellia. Sparkling colours and effects make it so magical.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your blogging problems. I don't presuppose comments to all my posts, dear friend.
Your photos are always interesting and good quolity.
Have a happy weekend xx

ReplyDeleteUtterly gorgeous, I love this card! Adore the texture , layers and colors! Thank you for joining us at DCL!
ReplyDeleteRecognize your Blogger trounbles, experienced them myself, but they are over now. Sometimes I just don't understand how Blogger works.
Beautiful card and details, Pamellia. Hope you feel better soon. I don't know what is causing your problem with blogger. I know they recently announced changes in that you had to have a blogger account to access blogs in blogger. Not sure how that works but I know some people lost followers because of it.
ReplyDeleteOh another most gorgeous card, Pamellia! Love the crackle and glorious layers! Max is adorable and like your little friend, my guy eats peanuts out of my hand. It is so cute! Hope the weather gets a little nicer for you! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh Pamellia ... I can always depend on you for beautiful inspiration! Your creation is just awesome ... LOVE all the wintery detail. Thanks so much for the wonderful shout out ... we appreciate you & your creations!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is your little black squirrel. I only have one black ... most here in Ohio are gray and my mom's over in PA are red. Years ago with I visited a high school friend out in Colorado, she had a black squirrel that was very friendly like yours and they called him 'scruffy' ... he knew the peanuts were hidden inside the sliding screen door and one day decided he wanted a few more than offered and actually ate a hole through the screen and helped himself! LOL So word to the wise, be careful where you sit your peanuts!
Thanks so much for joining in the fun at Double D Challenges! We hope you’ll come back often.

Oh my gosh Darlene, that's hilarious!! I have a little silver squirrel I call Karen, and when she wants a peanut, she crawls right up the screen door and starts making noise until I hear her! Aren't they fabulous little creatures!! Thanks for the drop in and for all your kind words! hugs :)

Greetings Petra
Aww your adorable squirrel friend looks so cute and not at all timid, how sweet that he comes to visit you each day.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful piece of art again Pamellia in those soft blue tones. Your creations are so dimensional and full of gorgeous details. I love that you've also made some of your own embellishments like the sparklers from hot glue and glitter and the beautiful frame.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Lorraine
Max Max your so cute and fine...
ReplyDeleteand lucky to come to Pamellia's to dine!!
Just love your stories girl!!! And all the super photos - wow.
And I also love your creation! Stunning art work. My fav part is the deep dark colors in start contrast to the light and airy wintery touch of the whites and blues. WONDERFUL. j.
Another wonderful card Pamellia, bursting with gorgeous details and dimension! Love the way you tuck the delicious embellies between the layers and other embellishments, always so much to discover and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone seems to be experiencing 'weird weather' this year!
Hope you've recovered from your 'nasty'!

Oh, shoot! I just left you a LONG message and poof! Off it goes!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, I am sending a steaming hot bowl of homemade chicken soup and some clean tissues your way! Well, I wish I could, but I'm afraid it would all be a soggy mess by the time it got there. I hope you are feeling much better. We are getting deluged by rain today, and our front yard can put your puddles to shame! Just yesterday it was freezing cold! What??? I want some durn snow! My brother would gladly share his 30+ inches of snow forecasted for him from this same storm outside of Washington, DC.
Max is so ding dang adorable, I could just squeeze the peanuts right out of him! Well done on getting him up to your knee! I can barely get one of my kitties on my lap unless I have a brush in my hand. Max, you sweetie, you!
Speaking of well done, your snowy card is amazing! I would never tire of your blues, especially because you know of a million and one ways to use them! CC surely must be doing a happy dance since they snatched you up! I love that dramatic contrast of the black against the cool blues and white! Drop dead gorgeous is what it is! Big round on applause to you, my friend! Hugs!
PS Blogger problems? Check! How to deal with them? Some very dry shredded bark and a match!:)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! You make me laugh girlfriend, I'll get the lighter!! hugs :)
DeleteBrrrrrrr! Your photos make me cold, Pamellia! LOL The squirrel looks happy to be fed by those pesky humans. Congratulations on your GDT position! Your incredibly "stacked" card is gorgeous! Love the carefully "sprinkled" jewels and all the tucked away papers and elements right down to the frosty clothes pin. Beautiful card, Miss Pamellia! Hugs, de
ReplyDeleteTotally love your delectable card Pamellia! Packed to the brim in the most beautiful way with pretty detailing, so much of it home made. Hope you and blogger recover fully soon, it sounds like such a bother. You may be hit with edge of forecasted weekend snowstorm? If so, stay warm and well.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card my lovely, what a stunning wintery feel you have captured! I love how you kept it so light and airy with sharp contrast with the black too! Beaut-eeeee-ful!! xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous wintery card. That snowflake is stunning and I love your touch of lace and the icy blues too. Very striking . I would love to see one of your cards in real life, they look so tactile. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Pamellia, love the layers of blue loveliness and beautiful embellishments.

ReplyDeleteYvonne xx
As usual, I love visiting your blog and reading looking at your fantastic designs, admiring your photos and reading your descriptions. I hope you find a solution to your commenting problem because none of your followers would want you to take time away from your creations. And by the way you can never go wrong with blue or lilac.
ReplyDeleteI got so carried away with your card, story and photos that I forgot to say...Thanks for joining us at Double D challenges and we hope to see your creations again.
ReplyDeleteHi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteA vision of frosty loveliness........the nicest frosty visions of the Winter I've seen. You keep going with the blues if that's where your creative thoughts are taking you.
Sorry you're under the weather but if you will go lurking about with your camera in the early hours and in all weathers you silly girlie ......see, even Bob the Spaz is safely tucked up in bed at that time (surprised you haven't been reported lol!)
Did have to re.read the bit about Max checking out your backside..........things they do for a peanut lol!
Ang x
Ps.......not had all that hoopla with Blogger.....yet!
Another beautiful card Pamellia and I don't have a problem with blue - love it.
ReplyDeleteLove all the gorgeous layers and details.
Wonderful early morning photos and Max is so cute - we occasionally see squirrels hopping down the street, bur nowhere near as friendly.
Hugs, Avril xx
OH! your creations are always so gorgeous I love to see the close up photos of them, you use your glue gun like it's a tool of it's own, I suppose it is, but have yet to find out it can do things like this, you really are so creative.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, a brave or cheeky squirrel LOL.
Verify I am not a robot comes in with me, when I do a lot of commenting, the cure I found is to stop and go in and start again later. Such a HUGE nuisance. I miss a few blogs because of this. Guess it's all to do with Blogger!!!!
First - awesome card - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those blues, and as always, your layers!! Second, commiseration on the Blogger "update" disaster....I hope you find a solution. I am thinking of migrating to Wordpress or another service. And last, so glad to hear I am not the only one with the "stay in bed all day" disease, lol! And very glad you arose to make this lovely card! xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteWow! Your card is amazing! Great to see how friendly Max is. I hope you get some proper snow soon -this can't be right!! Hope you are getting better now! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteReally sorry to hear that you have been unwell, I hope you are felling better real soon.
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous card, I have not objection to blue, it is the perfect colour for these beautiful icy type cards. I really like those Cheery Lynne dies, I am very tempted to order the snowflake one. I am also loving your hot glue embellishments, so clever.
Max is so cute, you must have spent a lot of time gaining his trust.
Dionne xx
Gorgeous creation! I am lovin' the blue tones...keep it comin'! Your work is incredibly beautiful Pamela! I wish I had time to experiment with paints, sprays etc. I really love the end results, just need to go get lost in my craft room for a few days without interruptions, lol!

Great big whoppin' congratulations on your new DT post! HOW STINKIN' COOL!!! CC has such cool papers and who doesn't love some Glimmer Mist?! Yikes, they better look out! You'll have head's spinning soon enough. This is a beautiful example of that. Love how you slightly altered the dotty paper so that it's still recognizable, but has such a cool edge. Your layers upon layers leave the eyes free to wander from gorgeous detail to even more gorgeous details. <3
ReplyDeleteTotally gorgeous card!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations, my dear, on your new DT post! This is a beautiful frosty layered piece of art! Outstandingly stunning Pamellia's style! There is always something new to learn from your unique and inspirational art work!

pss..may I ask how you are able to get the Pinterest button on your photos? I used to have it and now it has disappeared! Can't find it anywhere
Hi Pamellia,
ReplyDeleteOh what a stunning card, just love the way you have placed the frame over the snowflake, looks gorgeous and I never thought of using paper straws, don't they lend themselves so perfectly, I shall have to give those a try sometime.
I adore Max, how sweet its so good you are feeding them, they need all they can get this time of year especially if it has been snowing. I always thought early morning pictures were the best, you get great lighting and atmospheric conditions that time in the day you don't get at any other time.
You take care my friend and I look forward to future posts. Mine will be a little slower, though I do have some scheduled as my PC has died on me today so managing on an old laptop at present lol!
Love & Hugs

I have not experienced the same problems as you but I often cannot comment on blogs, which (as you know) is really frustrating... it lets me comment and then says there is a problem. I have to copy each comment I leave now, just in case... what is it with Blogger!!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway seeing your gorgeous, beautiful, shabby chic, fabulous card has soothed my frazzled nerves - it is dreamily amazing! Gorgeous colours, beautiful layering, wonderful design - I just love it! I really do hope you get a little snow and a lot less rain! Hugs, Anne xx
congrats on your GDT spot another fabulous creation of distressed and textured layers and embellishments-brilliant pics too

Another stunning creation Pamellia, so many beautiful details - I don't know where you get all of your creativity from.
ReplyDeleteI have the blogger issues as well, it seems to be linked to the amount of comments that I leave, it only appears after I have left a lot of comments and like you say it gets increasingly more complex the more comments you leave, very frustrating.

Oh my word girl, this is sooooooooo beautiful!!! I LOVE this shade of blue. This card is a real treat for the eyes. Definitely a piece of art that needs to be framed. <3
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the weather. It's crazy here as well. One day we have snow and another day it's almost spring. Now it sort of settled down and became "normal". No more extremes. But it's not a real winter either. We'll see what the next couple of days and the next week will bring. It's supposed to get colder again.
With the weather (and temperature) changing like this it's not hard to catch a cold or any other virus. I hope you're feeling better already.
Hugs! xx
Wow stunning creation, love the detail and colors. Please, stay safe!!

Oh my, I love blues and think this is one of my all time favorites! I love the look of winter, but not the cold and the sniffles. Your details- love looking at all of the little details like that blue clothespin and the jewels and the splatters, the crackle look....the snowflake and flowers..... Oh, I have never had a squirrel eat out of my hand- I would be afraid..... We do not see black squirrels much here- WOw. Your morning pictures- just gorgeous! Hope you feel better and hope you get some snow soon = for pictures : )
ReplyDeleteThat's a glorious winter wonderland card - such perfect dimensional composition with those ethereal wisps at the edges.
ReplyDeleteJust love Max - I think he's my favourite!

Oh! my goodness, this is awesome, I love how you have done the dies as half circles, the embossing is just wonderful. another FABULOUS card.

ReplyDeleteNot sure if you've solved your comment issues but apparently you now need to have a Google account to be able to comment on Blogger. Don't know why they feel the need to change things .. as the saying goes .. if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!
