I have a special treat today for a very dear bloggy friend. This was the card I sent her for her birthday, and now that it has arrived safely, I can go ahead and share it with you. This lady is such a talented gal and a huge inspiration to me. Her work is original and breathtaking, and I am just so honoured to call her a friend.
She is always telling me that she wishes she could be a fly on my craft room wall to watch how I put my cards together, so I thought I would video her card being made. I hope you enjoy this my friend!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA EMILY!!!!
Please visit Sara HERE and give her some birthday wishes!
Here we go with the video. Sara, make sure you watch it right to the very end my friend!! Thank you to everyone for your support. If you have any questions, drop me a comment at YouTube. Hugs

In the absence of all things winter, I have decided to aim my camera upward and take notice of some of the amazing textures that trees have to offer.
Snow or no snow, one thing I have to admit about winter time...the sunrises are freaking incredible, and with the big tree in front of my balcony completely bare of leaves, I can see it clearly!!
A very sad moment for me this week when sweet little Brenda showed up with half her tail missing! I know how harsh nature can be and I know that I need to be prepared for bad things to happen to my extended family members because nature is a ravage, unforgiving beast!! My head may understand that theory, my heart however...does not! My heart broke just a little bit, and I sat with Brenda for quite a while making sure she had as many peanuts and sunflower seeds as she could eat.
On the less depressing side of things, please take note of the scaredy-cat below. What is she hiding from I wonder? Could it be a big scary monster in the closet, or perhaps it's the boogie man under the couch...NOPE, IT'S THE SWIFFER DUSTER!!! I mean seriously Scully, what's that about!!!!
That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.
What a gorgeous card, who wouldn't be happy about so much gorgeousness. Love the photos. Nature is often hard, it pains me when I see how animals are often suffering outside. Have a good Sunday, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteMore great photos and of curse a glorious piece of artwork Pamellia.
ReplyDeleteB x
Pamellia your card is a real masterpiece - again - love your change of colour too ;-). Your poor wee squirrel :-( That sunrise is glorious, and the silhouetted branches enhance it.'

ReplyDeleteWonderful Pamellia, another master piece and thanks for the video, loved to watch it, you are such a master at putting all these different elements together to perfection!! Always love your flowers as you know, but on this one I was so taken with your crafter's clay embellishments too!! Would love to know what moulds you used! Oh, no you DIDN'T!!!! I had tears of joy when I received my beautiful card, but now you have made and shared this VIDEO, so I can be that fly on your craftroom wall, and once again you have moved me beyond words!!! What a wonderful birthday gift, indeed! I'm so happy you e-mailed me, because I get your lovely posts by e-mail a day or two after you post. It's funny, I was hoping you would post this card, because I wanted to see it from your eyes, in your incredible photography, but I would have never in a million years thought you would make a video! I know this is SO much work!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about Brenda; it breaks my heart. But happily, she seems to be managing well. I wonder how she will manage to balance herself in the tree tops. Nature can be so cruel. We have constant reminders of what the coyotes are doing to outdoor cats; if I had my way every cat would be protected inside a home. I have trained my cats to only go outside when we hold them. It is the only time they are completely relaxed when being held. So I have to "walk" my cats three times a day! What have I done????
What an incredible sunrise! I don't blame you for getting up early every day when you are treated to such beauty! We can't see the sunrise from our home because of the trees, but our sunsets have been equal in beauty! Love your tree shots--there is beauty in a bare tree, and you have certainly captured it!
I'm off to see this amazing video. I'm one of those kooks who saves the best for last, and now it's time. I can't wait! Thank you, my friend--you have truly made this birthday so special for me! HUGE HUGS!!!!! Sara Emily
I am grinning from ear to ear for you both! So happy about this card and this video and both of you and everything! Just oodles of love here!!!!!
DeleteOh your friend will treasure this I'm sure ... It's so beautiful and your little dog is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so so so BEAUTIFUL! A piece of your soul and passion handcrafted with love for a dear friend, how luck! Sara, I so envy you at this moment! What lovely colors, layers and textures. Thanks for the video too. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for the video! This is a must watch for every crafter! So many wonderful techniques used, and lovely music to boot! What a lucky girl I am to not only have this wonderful card in my hands, but to get to see it being made! Woo Hoo! I'm on Cloud 9! Big ginormous hugs to you, my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteLovely shabby flowercard with beautiful flowers and tones. Thank you for joining us at DCL.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card with wonderful textures and layers and I can see Sara Emily loved it, I am not surprised who wouldn't. Thanks for sharing the video to see how it all came about. Love your photos and really feeling for Brenda's missing tail.
ReplyDeletetake care.
happy Sunday.
hugs Brenda xxx
Hi dear Pamellia. In your dreamy card there is something new - it's the fext background, and I like it. Lovely card indeed, again.
ReplyDeleteHow sad to see the poor tale. But the nature photos are great.
You ended your lovely post with the most sweetie, she looks so so adorable.
Wishing you a inspiring, happy new week xx
What a gorgeous card for Sara Emily and a beautiful gift of a tutorial for us all!! Loving the textural trees and such a cute snap of Scully, as for poor Brenda...nature is indeed a cruel mistress as we hear all too often when rabbits are killed by foxes out in our fields, they make such a terrible noise and it breaks my heart every time :0(
ReplyDeletePamelia not only is your card amazing but such a warm hearted gesture to make a video for your friend!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card Pamellia - gorgeous colours, layers and textures. Who would not love it !! so I am not surprised Sara Emily loved it ! Fabulous video - yes, the next best thing to sitting alongside you while you create. I have pinned it for further viewing as there are so many wonderful ideas. Looking forward to seeing the flower video! Wonderful photography too of your natural environment.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry not to have been a regular visitor lately - further foot surgery has meant a bit of a lay up but I should be getting a bit more mobile over the next week, so looking forward to being part of this wonderful family again! Wishing you a fun and crafty week. Jennie x
Wow thats a Pamellia Card! What a fabulous card and Sara Emily will be thrilled with it! Cxxx
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card Pamellia. Love the pink & white with wonderful textures..a work of art. What a lovely post too...so enjoyed reading it and will check back later to see the video. Wonderful to have you playing along with us at Fussy and Fancy Friday. hugs, Pat K x
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card for your friend. She must have been thrilled with it...there is a lot of care and love in there. Love your tree textures but how awful for poor Brenda...eek but as you say that is nature and she seems fine with it. Enjoy your Sunday my dear xx
ReplyDeleteBack after watching your video Pamellia, you are awesome with your techniques and designs xx
ReplyDeleteI really love your delicate flowers. Thanks for joining us at DCL.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful card Pamellia and lucky Sara!! Oh my poor little Brenda, wonder what happened to her tail? I hope she can still balance in the trees okay, that would break my heart too, I'm too soft when it comes to animals as well :/

I was so excited to see you had another video to share, Pamellia! I always look forward to seeing your creations come to life. This card is so beautiful! What a wonderful gift for Sara in addition to her own personal video. Poor Brenda - it breaks your heart. I know it's nature but it's so sad at times.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a fabulous card for a wonderful lady!! Thank you for the video - your eye for layering and pattern astounds me! This is one of my all-time favorites of yours, as a make and as a video! Poor Brenda.... and silly Scully - too cute! xxx Lynn
ReplyDeleteA stunning card Pamellia..I love to watch your videos, everything comes together so perfectly..love all the details and colours..just beautiful..and poor little Squirrel, but looks happy enough eating all his treats. My dog will jump into a dirty smelly filthy creek and play in it, but if the watering can comes out at home, he is OFF!!..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
A stunning card Pamellia, fabulous techniques and details as always. Thank you for sharing your process - another great video.

What a wonderful surprise making a video of this card as a gift for your friend. Brilliant idea!!! I bet Sara is jumping up and down and smiling ear to ear. :D But not only because you made this video for her, but also because she received this beauty in the mail. Fabulous as always my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwww, poor little Brenda. :( At least she got spoiled by you. She totally deserved it.
He he he, had to laugh about Scully hiding from the swiffer duster. lol But even when she's scared, she's a total cutie! <3
Love the sunrise photo. Such great colours!
Hugs! xx
Oh my gosh, Pamellia, this is absolutely stunning!! Wow!! I am in love with this card and I know Sara Emily adored it!! I feel like I'm sharing in her birthday celebration with a video!! Yay!! You know how excited I get when you share one!! I love every single thing about this and I can't wait to see how you put it together!!
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Brenda :( I feel so sorry for her. Nature can be harsh. One of my sweet kitties lives on the porch (in a heated house) and I have lots of bird feeders around. Sadly, birds fly into the sliding glass door all the time and as soon as they hit the deck, she pounces. I know it's the circle of life and all of that, but it's so hard to witness. Your other photos are gorgeous!! I love the study of textures!! And what an amazing sunset!! Scully could not be cuter!! I'm off to watch the video!! Yay!! Have a great day my friend!! Big hugs :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card for your friend and a very thoughtful gesture to video the making of it to share with her too. I shall go and look at it after this, I love watching your creative processes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures again of your surroundings, what a shame about poor Brenda although she seems to be coping just fine and I'm sure the extra attention and food you are providing will go a long way to help in her recovery.
Lorraine
A beautiful card for your friend, she will treasure it. Loved the photos and of course the photo of one of your sweet poppets.

Oh my goodness I LOVE IT!!! Sat enthralled watching the video soaking in all your clever ideas and the beautiful way this card came together. No wonder Sara Emily is thrilled to bits. As for poor Brenda it's so sad! At least she has you looking out for her. Jenny x

Gorgeous card, I have seen it from every angle and I can't wait to see the movie. :) Love your use of the molds and flowers and the touches of gold. You are such a blessing.
ReplyDeleteRegarding a tail, good thing she lost part of it (but sad at the same time) because I would hate to think of what got her! Please give her a peanut for me. A hawk tried to steal my little dog once. Luckily my bigger dog grabbed the hawk. Scary ordeal. Scully is hilarious! Poor girl. Hope you had an amazing weekend! Hugz to you muffin! ~Doc
PS-loved the ending! Brought tears to my eyes!
DeleteA beautiful card for Sara Pamellia, what a special gift! So sorry about poor Brenda but we have a squirrel here with only part of his tail and he manages very well so hope Brenda will make a full recovery under your gentle care. Deb xo

♥Hugs Valentina♥
Your videos are always incredible but knowing this was for Sara Emily gave me a big lump in my throat. Your card is exquisite and I can see why she would love it so much, doing the video for her is just the icing on the cake. What a dear and wonderful friend you are...
ReplyDeleteAs for Brenda, my heart breaks for her, thank goodness she has you to feed her up and aid her healing...
Your winter tree pictures are wonderful, so many beautiful textures and colours. I really do miss the glorious sunsets that Canada experiences... Scully is just adorable, scaredy cat and all! Hugs, Anne xx
OH! what a wonderful friend you are, what an experience it would be to receive a card and then see the video on how it was made, and relish it for always, how lucky Sara Emily is.
ReplyDeleteI love your texture photos, the second tree to me, has a face saying "boo" with arms outstretched. Poor little squirrel, isn't nature so very cruel.
What a stunning card - I bet Sara Emily is in heaven! Beautiful, ethereal layers and textures - can't wait to watch the video!
ReplyDeletePoor little Brenda - I'm glad you made sure she was well fed after the shock it must have been for her.
Alison xx
A gorgeous and elegant card. This will be loved! Cute photos too!
ReplyDeleteHi Pamellia,
ReplyDeleteoooooooooooooooo! such a very gorgeous card.
What a very lucky recipient.
Love everything in this super creation.
When I played the video it didn't play right to the end so I missed the last part.
Oh that poor little might nature really upsets me with some of the nasty things that happen.
I used have a dog that hated the vacuum cleaner, and used to hide like that.
Lovely photos and such very interesting textures.
Fab sunset too.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Aw, sad to hear about Brenda's tail, but at least she made it out alive! I guess everyone's got to eat in the food chain, right? :-( Well, you are allowed to laugh, Miss Pamellia! First I began a comment on your blog, got the whole thing written, and something happened with google, and it disappeared! Then I watched over on YouTube, and a similar thing happened. Granted, it was late at night, so it was likely a user problem. I gave up. LOL
ReplyDeleteSo try try again, right? The YouTube was SO GOOD! I wondered if you had "white washed" everything, and yes, that is what your magical fingers did! Love the gold gilding, and I was happy to learn how you gilded the distressed edges. Thanks for teaching me so much, Pamellia!
Your friend will be delighted not only with her card, but the gift of how it was made, in your craft room. Beautiful in every way -
Lovely nature photos of textures and unexpected colors - it's a fun thing to enjoy on your blog. Thanks for sharing your photos within your posts!
May your week be extra special! hugs, de (who hopes this comment is accepted)
Such a beauty who wouldn't be excited to receive this on their Birthday. Just finished watching the video you make everything look so easy .
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Pamellia! Love all the layers and gorgeous blossoms!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhhh no............. Brenda, Brenda - you are just soooo alluring that something ate you up girl. You gotta get better claws and scratch their eyes out if they get rough. I'm so thankful that you are still eating peanuts and trust me - you are STILL BEAUTIFUL. It's not about the tail - beauty is beyond fur deep. Here is a big kiss for you dear Brenda. XXXXX j.
ReplyDeleteOh now... um hummm... scuse me... I forgot the main reason for writing - but I only forgot for a tiny little bit.... stunned for darling Brenda. Ok - soooo.... the card... yes..... oh yes.... it's for sure VERY SPECIAL. Of course, I adore Sara so it just makes me jump up and down inside that she is holding this beautiful card in her hands. So fun to see it come to life (incredible tutorial) and know how happy it made her. SUCCESSFULLY WONDERFUL project for her and a huge treat for us reading this and seeing the tutorial too. I always learn something wonderful when I watch you teach.
AND... SCULLY - you just stay right there where you are safe. I don't blame you - I would be hiding to if a big white ghost was floating around in front of my nose. Here is a kiss for you too. XXXX j.
What a beautiful gesture, Pamellia! I just know Sara Emily will love this amazing creation and cherish it always. Happy birthday Sara Emily!!! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteMy ever-inspiring friend, you have once again left me grasping for words to portray what my heart is feeling. Every post makes it flutter with joy. Sara is one lucky girl to receive such a masterpiece. The monochrome is stunning... it make me think of the sweetest pink sunset adorned with a few whimsical clouds. The flowers are spectacular and I adore the birdcage and its happy tenant. Your layering is superb. If only I could tell you how much I love your creations... and of course your beautiful heart. :o) I'm excited to watch the video in just a wee bit. My heart leaps with happiness when I get an email that you have uploaded one... thank you for making them. :o)
ReplyDeletePoor sweet Brenda.. it just heartbreaking, isn't it? I'm glad you were there to give her some spoiling. It is hard when our animal friends engage in an ordeal. :( Can I hug Scully to help soothe the sadness? There is always so much to love in your posts, my beautiful friend. Have a lovely day.
Hugs and blessings,
Karen

Hi Pamellia
ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful card you have made for your friend and my, didn't you make it look easy on that fab video.
Love the resist with the MP.
Poor Brenda... guessing may have been a dispute with another squirrel? Nature can be cruel as well as beautiful. The magpies have decimated our resident blackbirds nest with chicks on more than one occasion and its heartbreaking.
I'm sure your TLC will help little Brenda with her recovery. Scully is impossibly cute!
Best wishes.

ReplyDeleteHi there my crafty friend!!! WOW this is FABULOUS...I'd love to take a trip through that crafty brain of yours Pamellia...does it ever sleep??!! Simply gorgeous card Pamellia and I love the Scully tales (or is it tails)! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Beth
How wonderful to be the recipient of a Pamellia original and what a beautiful original to be the recipient of. I am sure your friend was thrill with her birthday card.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching your video of this card and, as always, picked up lots of tips. However, it was not until I saw some of the above close ups that I really appreciated some of the detail. The flowers are miniature works of art and I always adore the little loops you incorporate into your deigns. Thank you for giving me this glimpse into your craft room.
I love the photographs of the tree textures. Some of them look as if you have applied some of your special texture paste and then set about daubing them with acrylic paint.
I do hope little Brenda is going to be OK. It looked as if the bleeding had stopped, I hope that is a good sign. The same thing happened to a little cat we once had. We took her to the vet and he removed the exposed cartilage and stitched her tail, he said it was a very common thing to happen to cats. She went on to live a long and happy life.
Dionne xx
Wow such an elegant and beautiful card in those soft colors. Love all the layers and that awesome flower. Glad you joined us over at Dutch Card Lovers.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous card Pamellia. I love the soft pink colour scheme and the clay bird and cage are great finishing touches. I am sure Sara will adore her card and the video is such a wonderful idea. Sally.x.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Pamellia, looking forward to watching the video, thanks.
ReplyDeletePoor Brenda - can't imagine how that must feel for her - at least she knows she won't go hungry now that you live there.
Hugs, Avril xx
Pamelia, what a beautiful glimpse into your world. I too love watching nature and especially the shows the little critters and birds put on. We have a hawk that visits and I've seen some very sad things when they come looking for their dinner. :(
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note, your little pup is so darned cute and I agree, I would love to be a fly on the wall in your creative space. You make cards like no other I see. I for some reason am unable to add much to my cards before I begin hyperventilating, but I love looking at cards that have lots of goodies oh them, such as yours. I hope you are well, sorry that I've not visited for a while!
