Frilly and Funkie - Sing, Sing, Sing

Hello Everyone,

It's time for another challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. The lovely and talented Cec is our hostess and she has chosen the theme "SING, SING, SING". She would like you to make a shabby chic or vintage project with music as the central theme. You can add musical instruments, music paper, sentiments about music or even vintage images with a music theme. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I have put together this card using some of the gorgeous Pion papers that Linda sells in her shop. I have to say how in love I am with the soft, pale colours and the dainty, feminine patterns!! I am completely hooked and will be experimenting more with this lovely line of papers!

Almost every product on my card is something new for me to play with. The layered butterfly is done with the new Tim Holtz Butterfly punch and I stamped it using a sentiment from the Graphic 45 Christmas Carol stamp set and then stapled them together using the Tiny Attacher. The "friend" sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Friendship Words die set. The fabric flower is from May Arts.

The music note die is from Memory Box. The flowers were made with my new Tim Holtz punch Tattered Floral and I coloured them with Distress ink Old Paper. The bronze medallion and the beautiful pearls and the stamens are from Linda's shop.

The doily die is from Prima and the floral flourish die you see peeking out from the layers is from Spellbinders. I distressed everything with a little Gathered Twigs and added some cheesecloth between the layers.

Well we finally got some snow and I know I've asking for snow, but it was blooming miserable outside today!! It was so windy that I couldn't get any good closeup shots and my glasses were fogged over so I couldn't even tell what I was aiming my camera at half the time!

Doesn't this look like a Christmas tree??? It's actually only about 4 inches tall, WHAT!!! Love it!

RIDDLE ME THIS, BATMAN!!! Why is there no snow on that middle picnic table? Did someone think they try to sit for lunch, in this most ridiculous of weathery days, or did the snow fairy just run out of flakes?? lol

OK MRS DUCK, here's the thing with the cattails. First time I ran across them I reached out to touch one, and my friend yelled "don't touch it". I assumed maybe they are poisonous or something. I'm now thinking that they're probably not, and as soon as I can reach out and touch one of them without freezing my fingers off, I shall do just that!

I have a photo from New Years day that I want to share with you. the weather was quite nasty and visibility was very low. As I was walking along, I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye so I'm aimed my camera in the general direction and hit the shutter a few times. This is what it looked like. Not much to see at first...

On my way back to the house, a lady said to me "Happy New Year, hope you see a cardinal today". I asked her what she meant by that and she tells me that there are only two cardinals that live on the lake, and apparently it's good luck to see one. I said "I think I got one on camera", so we zoom in, and sure enough...I captured a picture of the very elusive and very lucky cardinal on New Years Day!! A wonderful omen of the good year to come.
